This place has very good pub food, lots of TVs for game watching (if that's what you're into), and (best of all) a wonderful selection of beer. Â I sit at the bar fairly often to try a beer I've never had before, and their rotating taps make that easier. Â
For Haddon Township, this bar is the best for a beer lover. Â So if you find yourself in Collingswood, Westmont, Cherry Hill or anywhere near by, check this place out.
Plus: varied beer menu, patio area and deals on drinks. Negatives: in the past year, my fiancée has gotten food poisoning after having a burger and yesterday I bit into my veggie burger and found a sharp piece of plastic (like a broken off tine of a plastic fork). I just wouldn't eat here again but great for drinks/happy hour.
Review Source:The Pour House in Westmont is my favorite casual dining restaurant/bar. Â My family and I have been dining there for well over a year now and I am telling the truth when I say that I never had a bad meal there all during that time. Â The staff is friendly and attentive, the food is always consistently well prepared and the beer selection and specials are great as well.
The Pour House is one of a few establishments where you can bring your kids and not feel guilty about having a beer with your meal. Â A lot of places we have tried are not kid-friendly as far as pub-type places go, but the Pour House is frequented by many families just looking for a relaxed atmosphere and a good beer selection.
My meal recommendation for you is to start out with the Short Rib Gravy Fries as an appetizer and then select any one of their burgers for your main course. Â No kidding, you cannot go wrong with any of the burgers. Â The Porter Wings are very good too. Â The four of us eat there quite often and with two appetizers, four main courses and a few beers, the bill rarely goes over $80-$85 (gratuity not included).
If you like well-prepared casual pub-style food and a huge eclectic beer selection then give The Pour House a try, you won't regret it!
Just wanted to update my review - I might have been a little too critical - POUR HOUSE I LOVE YOU! There, I said it. I take back all the mean things I said!
Beer is awesome, food is great, and the bar staff are friendly and personable. It can get crowded on the weekends, but that's to be expected.
Stopped in here for a bite with a young group so I didn't taste the beers which I think is the reason to come here. Â It is more bar than restaurant and with the Phillies game on it was almost like being in the old 700 level at the Vet. Â Unlike the opinion of other reviewers, I find that this is NOT a gastropub. Â The food IS good but not particularly inventive or exciting. Â We shared the Thai calamari which tasted too much like ketchup and had too many fried dough bits mixed in. Â (If you have tasted the ones at Biggie's in Carlstadt, these do not pass muster.). We split the oyster po'boy and one of the burgers (the menu has mostly burgers.). Â Both were quite good and perfectly done. Â Other menu items include sandwiches and oysters & clams on the half shell. Â They also have some flatbreads. Â Service is ok. Â It can be loud. Â It is not the place to bring grandma and grandpa if they don't hear well but bring the kids as there are plenty of TVs to watch.
Review Source:I love, love, love this place. When I lived near Haddonfield I used to come here every Wednesday for buck-a-shuck night. Great oysters and can't top the humongous craft beer list. We put a lot of effort into trying every beer, but it just wasn't possible. I was also here for a few weekends for the last World Cup. Awesome time, no matter how crowded it gets (and it gets very crowded). Burgers, sandwiches and appetizers are delicious, and the staff has always been great. The only downside is that it is nearly impossible to find parking if you come anytime after 6:30 pm, and you could end up waiting almost an hour any night of the week for a table.
Review Source:My wife and I are regulars here for the Tuesday Beer & Burger deal, but we stopped in on an "off-night" to get a glass of Kane Morning Bell. That accounts for most of what we liked. Â As always, they do have a good selection of craft beers. Â Manhatten Crab chowder was also good. Â
Our appetizers were another story, though. Â Well-cooked but salty asparagus. Â Mac and cheese was bland. Â Chili nachos were a soggy mess; we picked through them but ultimately sent them back. Â
service was okay; not great but passable. Â More of an issue was that that sat us next to a large, loud party, although there were other tables available.
The place is really nice. I take friends from out of town here from time to time. The fresh oysters are the real attraction. The food is good, but the menu is very slim and from what I can tell they don't change it up much. I keep it in the rotation, but don't go out of my way. Good place for beers and if you can get a table outside in the summer it's nice.
Review Source:I've been to a lot of gastropubs (most of which in Philly) and The Pour House is now near the top of the list. In summary: Great food, great atmosphere, and great service.
Prices are about what I'd expect to pay for an equivalent experience in the city, so no complaints there. The food selection was pretty good, and the items were definitely way better than average. I got the Ham-Burglar, which was awesome. Also got some brisket gravy fries which were out-of-control good.
Service was great too; my server was extremely nice and had the perfect level of attentiveness. I had also ordered an Allagash Odyssee (great beer, by the way) that ran out in the middle of my pour. The beer was probably 80% full (they could have just passed it off as a small pour, honestly) but instead they completely took it off my bill. Totally awesome and just good customer service.
Overall, great place. I'll be back for sure.
GREAT Beer List!!! While I wouldn't call this place a gastropub as the food isn't inventive and it's certainly more of a family restaurant than pub, it does serve good American food. Beware that this place gets busy with kids during family hours of 5:50-7:30. Now if the surrounding towns would stop with all this nonalcoholic nonsense, it may calm down bit.
Review Source:I have been here a few times and while I have not experimented much with the menu, I have been very happy with my food every time. I tend to get the All American burger with their famous fries--absolutely delicious! Also, try their homemade onion dip.
They have a great selection of beer, especially if you are into craft brews.
On certain nights, be prepared to wait. I think I have waited as long as 45 minutes for a table, but it is well worth it I think. Also, when they are busy, parking can be an absolute nightmare, so get there early if you plan to go on a weekend night or when they have their buck-a-shuck special.
This is my first visit to The Pour House in a couple years. Â Long ago it was a great experience and I can honestly say not much has changed. Â But that is a good thing!
The gf and I went on a Wednesday night. Â Wednesday feature great specials like their beer and burger for $10 and buck a shuck oyster deal. Â I went for the burger/beer deal. Â You got to choose from 3 burgers and 2 different beers.
I started with the Flying Fish Abbey Dubbel. Â Not too heavy, but not too light. Â Complemented the burger nicely!
I chose the Pour House burger which came with sharp vermont cheddar and caramelized onions. Â Ordered it medium. Â Now a lot can be said about a kitchen on their ability to cook a burger to order. Â I am happy to report, the burger came out with a JUICY pink center. Â The freshness of the burger was spot on and the vermont cheddar really shines in this sandwich. Â No ketchup needed on this burger! Â The roll was fresh and soaked up the juices well. Â Certainly a messy burger!
I decided to get the shoestring fries instead of chips. Â Though they were good, they weren't great. Â Maybe they were sitting a little bit because half of them were a bit soggy. Â That of course didn't stop me from eating them all...
Great specials, good food and an INCREDIBLE bottle/draft beer selection should have people coming her for years to come. Â The atmosphere is casual, but not PJ's casual. Â You avoid the high school/college crowd here as opposed to the PJ's down the street.
I've been to the Pour House a handful of times now, and so far, so good.
Unfortunately, I can't add to the rave reviews of the beer selection, as I'm not a beer drinker. (Don't hurt me!) On the other hand, I can attest to the awesome atmosphere and great food. Their whiskey sours are smooth and strong, too.
The pretzel bites are a solid favorite. Yesterday, my party decided to try the meat and cheese plate and that was also pretty darn good.
Being that I live within walking distance, I'll be back soon.
Solid place to get your drink on- reasonable prices on lesser known, higher quality brews plus variety of finger foods makes me a happy lady.
There are 20 beers on tap that range from Allagash White to Weihenstepan. If you don't like any of the drafts, there are a hundred other options to chose from in bottle/can form. The pretzel bites with smoked cheddar were a huge hit with our group, but the pierogis were only OK.
Looking forward to going back and trying more of the beer/food menu!
Craft beer lovers rejoice! Â The Pour House is a South Jersey mecca for craft beer enthusiasts, and apparently oyster enthusiasts as well. Â I went to Pour House during a Flyers game, and thankfully sat right by a big TV. Â That, coupled with a delicious 10% ABV IPA made for a perfect night!
The Pour House's beer list is awe-inspiring.  From what I understand they are constantly rotating, so there's always something new to try.  Their food menu is a nice balance of bar food and regular restaurant food.  I opted for a tuna burger and sweet potato fries which was quite good, and a perfect  accompaniment to my brew.  Apparently there is an oyster situation going on here too.  I don't know the first thing about oysters, but it seemed like they had a lot of variety.
While I don't frequent this section of Jersey much, the next time I do I will certainly stop back and see what's on draft.
During the week, when it's not packed, the food is solid and so is the service. However, during the weekends, esp Saturdays, I've found that the service and quality of the food is sacrificed tremendously. The wait tonight wasn't too bad (35-40 minutes), but the bar was so congested that I couldn't even grab a drink while waiting.
Review Source:The Pour House is a really great place to kick it after work with your honey or your friends, especially on a Wednesday night (buck-a-shuck oysters!) they have over a hundred different craft beers I repeat craft beers for your liking...now me not being a beer drinker but slowly jumping on the cider beer wagon was extremely happy to see they actually had a selection of cider beers to choose from (awesome!) my fiancé ordered the blue cheese burger which was sloppy and delicious! I ordered the pretzel bites which were perfect for conversation food. but back to the oysters they have a great array of oysters my favorites being the cape may salts and they're all $1/oyster on Wednesdays. This place is awesome great crowd, friendly staff and great food!
The only small issue is parking...their parking lot is very small for the amount of business they bring in on a Wednesday night(kudos)...so make sure you either carpool if your bringing a bunch of friends other wise you might end up parking down the street and having to walk
Decent food and great beer, just gets WAY too crowded for me on a weekend. Not really a place I like to go and hang at the bar, though there aren't many places I would say are good for that, nowadays - and I'm only 31!
Anyway, take it from me - go, get a table/sit, then drink lots of beer! They also have live performances, which is always fun!
Great Burgers. Â A nice selection of beers with a rotating draft list and there always is a beer special.
I would have given 5 stars but for the inconsistent temperature of the burgers. IF ONE PERSON ORDERS MEDIUM RARE AND ONE MEDIUM WELL, THEY SHOULD NOT BE THE SAME.
Management  needs to correct this as this is not the first time.  This is your signature item; get it right.
Their take on wings and calamari are different and tasty. Â The oysters are good.
I thought the pirogi  were meh, but we make our own so maybe we are pirogi snobs:)
Other items look good, but it is hard to bypass that mouthwatering burger.
Kitchen: Â please try to get the burger out as ordered because when you are spot on it is one of the best burgers around.
One of the many reasons why I love working at my Godfathers house in Cherry Hill is plenty of amazing establishments for one to experience.
If you are expecting Budweiser and Coors Lite on tap keep on driving, because you will not find it here. This place is the "Mecca" of all beers crafted and ready to be tapped. I counted 5 different tap stations at the bar alone with at least 35-40, possibly more from what  I saw with different selections for your to peruse. Along with the tapped craft beers selections they have 139 bottled beers to try .
Yelpers I had to wipe the tears of joy that were coming from my eyes ,with the selections to choose from tap to bottle. Merry Christmas to me, now which present do I taste first, I felt like a little kid in a candy store eyes wide open , like a fat kid to a cupcake I was all about it. Â I had to keep my cool about it, I didn't want to look like a rookie when ordering, stuttering because I don't know what beer I wanted to indulge in. It was not easy, going up to a packed bar with one in mind then there is another one that catches your eye, patience is a virtue at this point in time. Once I treated myself to this fine pint I can enjoy a second, or maybe go a bottled route, I had plenty of time to take advantage of these fine selections.
First was a nice, Shipyard Smashed Blueberry from the tap, this went down smooth, great flavor, not a bad after taste  only thing I forgot to take a picture of this, but I did followed it up with a bottled version of this. It was good, not the same great impact taste as you got with the Shipyards version, but it still was good.  The smashed was a smooth, rich taste to it.  Followed it up with an Arrogant Bastard Ale ohhhhh I was happy happy happy (duck dynasty reference )..  Another beer I enjoyed was Founders, Backwoods Bastard. Rich and creamy taste to it with a kick almost like a creme brulee flavor.
Erika was an outstanding bartender, she was on the game with a packed bar she never missed a beat. That is the type of bartender you  want serving you, remembering your order with backup ready to go once you have finished you beverage of choice.
This place was packed and busy, the food they have looks good, something I wouldn't mind trying in the future. Pretzel bites they have looked amazing with a cup of melted cheese to dip with, their burgers also look great. Big, juicy , mouth watering cheeseburgers how you would want it to be made. Picture this nice fat angus burger, grilled medium  with bacon, caramelized onions, some shroom action to the mix, with a few strips of hot peppers (not that weak yellow peppers you get at a Wawa)  with a chipolte mayo and ketchup . BOOM SOLD..  They also  have a great oyster bar with big oysters , not that cheesy market little ones either. If you are into that scene they also do  " A buck a Shuck " on Wednesdays if you are into oysters.
The Pour House has a great atmosphere, plenty of TVs', seating, great  friendly waitresses. Dining area looked big, but the bar area was the spot to be, with those beautiful selections , and yes they have more than just beer.
Go in , enjoy the food, the selections, you will find it to be a great experience. ask for Erika, or Molly if you sit at the bar, they'll treat you right, plus they give a great " High 5 ".
P.S.
For those Coors/Budweiser fans no need to worry, they have it here too.
After taking a look at the menu for The Pour House, I knew I was in for a treat. Â This place is awesome! Â
We went on a really busy Friday night, which I've decided must be the norm, and hung out by the bar while we were waiting for our table. Â Thee beer selection here is stellar and the specials are pretty awesome....the special that night - $3 Guinness drafts. Â Can't beat that, right? Â
For dinner, we all got some type of burger and I got a side of mac & cheese. Â I swear no one said a word from the time the food came out until all of the plates were licked clean - the food is that good. Â I wasn't really paying attention to the toppings everyone else ordered, but I can tell you that I did my usual bacon and fried egg. Â It was awesome! Â The burger was juicy and cooked (rare) to perfection. Â The mac & cheese was creamy and delicious. Â And praise Jesus - The Pour House carries sriracha!
Love this bar. Â Love the beer. Â Love the food. Â Amen.
$60 for two people with 3 drinks. Not bad.
We started off with their pretzel bites with mustard beer cheese which was suprisingly delish and their homemade chips and dip. The french onion dip was sooo good, really sweet and not too thick. the chips were homemade and definitely could have used more salt, but were also a bit old tasting.
I had the bacon bleu burger which was cooked much more rare than i had asked for, but it was kinda dark in there, so I really couldn't tell how rare it was. It was good though, nothing spectacular, but good.
My fiancee had the Jersey burger that had a fried egg and porkroll on it, and he loved it. Both came with the chips, which again, for being homemade, could have been a bit fresher.
We also ordered the onion straws, which was probably the best part of the meal. Battered really well and also really crispy, they were delicious.
I went here not being a huge drinker, but going with a big beer-snob, and the beer menu definitely was impressive. It was a long, long, menu, but had a little something for everyone.
As for the experience, our waitress was awesome, really attentive. The place was insanely loud, but if you go in there on a Friday night and don't expect that, you're kinda confused. All in all, for cheap burgers and delicious appetizers, we would go back, maybe just not on a Friday night.
The Pour House has gotten a lot better in the last year, particularly the food. Â A lot of my caveats from before still hold - they run out of beer quite frequently, their beer is pretty expensive, and it's very loud inside. Â But, the pulled pork tacos are freaking excellent. Â I've gotten them the last four or five times we've been.
We've also had some...interesting...times outside on the patio recently, with a few odd characters popping in and out, rapping to the patrons, throwing garbage at some.
20 craft beer drafts, 140 bottles. That's all I need to say, right?
Okay, I'll add some more...
- Bacon bleu burger was excellent. Fresh ground beef, cooked medium, bleu cheese, two slices of bacon...yum. Homemade chips were okay, but I might go with the fries next time. Yeah, there WILL be a next time.
- Oyster bar. Not a lot of options, but apparantly they're only a buck a piece on Wednesdays. Good to know for future reference.
- Outdoor patio to enjoy the summer weather.
- Free parking lot. Very unique to find in a "downtown" establishment.
- Did I mention the beer selection? Well, it's worth mentioning again, especially the Unibroue Trois Pistoles on tap. Not sure why the guy next to me was drinking Coors Light bottles, but hey, nobody's perfect.
Their beer selection? Oh my.
Their draft beer menu changes daily and the list for their bottled beer was enormous. I discovered Breckenridge Summer Cab Ride here, which is now one of my favorite beers. Â I didn't try the food (except for the hummus), but my friend ordered a burger and pierogies and said they were awesome. It seems like a good bar for both live music (I was here to hear my friend's band play) and for watching whatever sporting event is on tv.
When I saw the Pour House was on Haddon Ave, I was expecting I'd have to park in the street since I'm so used to doing that in Collingswood. I was pleased to find out they had parking in the back. Extra plus.
They have added a few new(er) items to the food menu that I like.  The Beer Can Chicken Salad is excellent. It's a simple salad but the ingredients just blend perfectly  (pulled chicken, arugula, grapes, toasted almonds, bacon, bleu cheese and honey red wine vinaigrette). It's a heaping portion of  greens, makes a meal by itself.
The Turkey & Swiss Melt sandwich is also very good.
Also, the Oysters have been a staple on the menu since day one. I would say that the Oysters are the best in the area (3rd to the Oyster House in Philly).
carry on
Yum.
I have yet to be disappointed by this place. I've been here quite a few times. The tuna steak burger NEVER disappoints with the spicy wasabi sauce. Of course, the famous fries pack a punch with the old bay (comes with dipping cheese if that floats your boat). I've had other burgers, oysters and other things here as well and have never been disappointed.
Tuesdays they have a decent special that I just partook in th
Yuck.
The food here is just unbelievably bad. I realized I never tried the veggie burger, described as: house-made with beans and veggies, smoked mozzarella and marinated tomato. That sounded really good to me and looked even better when it arrived. This tasted like straight up falafel, ya'll, and I mean the falafel mix that comes in the box for you to prepare on your own, which equals terrible. My husband ordered the grilled cheese which literally tasted like NOTHING. The saving grace was the side salad that came with the veggie burger, which likely came from a bag of spring mix, but at least it was fresh and edible. I didn't get to find this out for 15 minutes, however, because our server neglected to return to our table to bring me a fork.
I've said in the past that I'll go back only for their great beers but the bad service I've experienced on every single occasion is enough to keep me away.
I'm a fan of this place! Â I came an hour or so before happy hour and I was supposed to meet a friend. Â The bartender came over right away, helped me pick out a brew, and even saved a spot for my friend. Â The atmosphere is relaxed, there are TVs, and lots of room to sit. Â During happy hour they filled right up. Â There's a burger and beer $10 special. Â I think the food is reasonably priced. Â I had to try the veggie burger. Â Considering this place doesn't specialize in this, it was pretty alright. Â It came with a salad too and I think their dressing could be replaced with something less weird. Â Also bathrooms are in pretty bad shape. Â
Based on my experience, it's definitely a place I'd check out again.
So. Much. Craft. Beer.
I can't get enough of this place.
I never drink the same beer twice, the service is great and you can watch sports there. Not sure of what more I could want. They change their beers on tap consistently. The bartenders know their beers too, so any questions you have, they can answer.
If you're into seafood they have a cool raw bar with locally used seafood. They have hummus, calamari, and perogies-- and that's just the apps. Burgers and other delicious noms fill their large menu as well.
The bar is fully stocked amongst all the delicious beers they offer. They run awesome beer specials.
There is outdoor seating for nice nights and a private parking-lot. It fills quickly so be sure to know what streets are good for parking if you don't get a spot. If you live in a town that has the PATCO, it is in walking distance from the Pour House, so if you don't want to drive you have that option.
Let me preface by saying that I don't like beer. I just can't get into it as much as I try. With the recent explosion of love for all things micro-brew, the culinary snob in me could easily go the beer snob route if I wanted to but I just can't get past the taste. My loss is the gain for someone else.
As a recent transplant to the area, I was pleasantly surprised by The Pour House. I felt like I had walked in somewhere that was like home which is always a good sign.
Great beer selection - check (according my beer snob counterpart). I dig how they have a huge menu wall telling you what they got, alcohol volume and type of adult beverage you are going to be consuming.
Food - menu looked decent and our food was good. Mind you I got a cheeseburger and my rule is If you fuck up a cheeseburger you're in trouble. They did not.
Good service - check
I really wish I could do the raw oyster thing, they seem to be a hit here but I can't get past the texture. Wish they served some baked oyster versions. Throw a Rockefeller on the menu and I am in like Flynn.
( Sidenote: Seriously, I know you're wondering "you don't like beer or  raw oysters, wtf are you doing in this place?". )
But beer selection and food aside? Whoever picks the music for the establishment gets the thumbs up from me. There is nothing more buzzkill inducing than a joint that serves up crappy tunes.
Overall, I like you Pour House. I will be back.
This spot has really grown on me over time. The bottled beer selection is sick and the draft list is constantly rotating. Prices are more than fair. Today I had a Flying Fish Hopfish for $3.50. That is a deal, my friends. I also had a turkey burger, which came topped with white cheddar, roasted tomato, arugula and avocado. Well, that's what the menu said, anyway. I expected some fresh slices of avocado but the end result was actually more like guacamole, which was mildly disappointing, but the burger was so damn good I really didn't care. Bonus, it was so big I brought half home with me. House-made kettle chips were lightly dusted with salt and eliminated any cravings for fries (which can be substituted for $1).
Live music goes down several nights a week and I know from experience that this bar is a great place to catch a Flyers game, where you can cheer along with other like-minded fans (and hound on the inevitable random who cheers for the opposing team).
