My wife and I have enjoyed this little gem in Pasadena for our birthdays; our birthdays are only days apart. Â The location was somewhat hard to find. Â The restaurant was packed and extremely busy due to the Dine LA week, which I did not know when i made the reservation. Â As I saw the crowd at the restaurant, I was starting to worried about the service. Â As the night goes on, I was proved wrong. Â My wife and I had a wonderful time. Â The waiter was very attentive to our needs. Â The hostess graciously seated us at the outdoor spot. Â We found out that dogs are allowed in the outdoor location. Â If we knew earlier, we would have brought Pipi (our foo-foo dog) to celebrate with us. Â Â The food was extremely good. Â I can still reminice my appetizer that I had that night, Pork Belly with Peach Kimchi. Â What a fantastic combination! Â That should have been the main entree. I know the chef uses real peaches to make the sauce, since I have a peach tree at my house. Â My wife really enjoyed her main course, short rib with harico vert. Â The fried shallots on top is a nice touch. Â Overall, it was really nice. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Review Source:In all my 71 years, I've never had a dining experience like the one I enjoyed at The Raymond. The presentation of the various courses was absolutely fantastic. The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the atmosphere superb. For a special occasion and an above average dining experience, I whole heartedly recommend an evening at The Raymond.
Review Source:Came for a DineLA dinner a few months ago and was very impressed -- though, I am struggling right now to remember what I ate because of my old age haha. Â Regardless, the food was delicious and it was a DineLA experience that left me craving to return.
Very romantic and intimate setting in a cottage located just off of Fair Oaks Ave. Â You'll probably drive by it a couple of times looking for it. Â It's fine dining meets rustic atmosphere inside. Â If possible, try to sit in the main seating area as it's a little more lively than the side annex. Â There aren't too many tables so this isn't a factory restaurant.
One of the perks is that the cocktail bar 1886 is located inside this restaurant. That means their wide selection of great drinks is available for patrons inside the restaurant. Â The only downside is that as a result cocktails can take a while to appear at your table depending on how busy the bar is.
This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion, go out on a fancy date, or enjoy a quiet, but great meal. Â Can't wait to return.
