Sort of hard to find...off the main drag...but we found it. I had a blow out on the Bluegrass Parkway so we had to get off at Bardstown to get the tire replaced at WalMart..3 hrs wait time on a crowded Sunday...
After we got the tire fixed..I pulled up my Yelp app on my cellphone and did a search for Pizza in the area, and woot woot..it directed me to Rebecca's Pepperoni Grill...we found it with just a few wrong turns..but we are so glad we did.
There was a few patrons in the establishment eating pizza and watching football..so we grabbed a seat and the waitress came over a immediately and took our drink order..Tony was already drunk...he was that way when I Â picked him up but he still ordered a beer...big surprise!! Right..
I ordered a Pepsi and we ordered a large pepperoni pizza with mushrooms, onions and jalapenos...when it came out ...it was HUGE...we ate a few pieces and then took the rest home..this pizza was  Delicious!!! Delicious!!!
I would definitely go to this restaurant again if and when I am in the area..I also noticed the people beside us had ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the serving was huge also!!! So I guess everything is big here!!! Our meal was only $35 with drinks, taxes and tip....not bad!!! I would definitely go here again..and I highly recommend to all to eat here.... A definite thumbs up!!
We were staying at the hotel across the street and just wanted a late dinner, so this seemed perfect. We walked in to a lively bar atmosphere with a real neighborhood feel which we liked. It was Thursday night 2 for 1 drafts, wells and wines - always a bonus! So far, so good....
I ordered a salad which was a nice size; however, it had quite a few brown, old lettuce pieces in it. Never a good thing! Hubby was really in the mood for wings, so he decided to try those. He said they were just okay, I thought they were fatty. Â I will have to say that the pizza at the next table looked really good, but neither one of us were really in the mood for that. In hindsight, probably should have gotten it anyway.
True NY style in KY! Â This is the closest pizza that I have found in KY to a NY neighborhood slice joint like Sal & Carmine's or Pizza Box. Â I spoke to the owner, who said she had lived in Brooklyn and Florida, and that is where she learned to make pizza.
Crust is very crisp (though there is no "char" or black, burned bubbles, that we love so much!). Â Sauce is applied in appropriate amounts. Â Same for the cheese.
House salad was fresh and generously portioned.
Great job Rebecca's!
This place is a solid option for those looking for pizza, sandwiches, and salads along the Bourbon Trail or in and around Bardstown. Â The NY-style pizzas are done well, the side salads are not skimpy, the sandwiches are good, and the bar has a good selection of beers both on tap and in a bottle. Â Just a nice little locally-owned joint that is worth the look.
Review Source:Orginally from the east coast, I love the pies...this place is awesome! Â They have pizza by the slice...hand tossed with great cheese. Â Thin and chewy crust...garlic knots, corn balls, & zepplios...a hidden gem! Â Please don't pass this local haunt for one of the chains. Â Waitress made small mistake on order and did not want corrected, she gave discount without me asking. Â Southern hospitality is alive and well!
Review Source:Rebecca. Not a name I normally associate with New York-style pizza. Maybe Tony, or Gino, possibly a Freddie, but generally not Rebecca. May very well be the reason why they call this a Pepperoni Grill to help give it an air of refinement. And honestly, I'm not even sure where a grill comes into play, maybe a flat grill for some sandwiches but I don't know that there's many items on the menu that are really considered grill food.
Semantics aside, none of it takes away from the fact that this is pretty good pizza. In fact, pretty good food all the way around. Freshly baked bread for sandwiches, homemade chips for their sandwich baskets, giant slices of NY-style pizza to fold and eat, and a nice, clean, spacious dining and bar area too.
Prices are fair, at least they are for lunch, and the service is attentive. Not a single complaint on my end. Must be losing my touch.
Ah well, fuhgeddaboutit.
