Red Bambuu Sushi & Seafood

I used to come here a lot. I recommended this place to so many people. Wow, don't I feel stupid...

Came here yesterday with a friend. Ordered my usual maki rolls and crab rangoon. The prices are still the same but wtf happened to the serving size?? It shrank! The worst thing is that the size is NOT the issue in this review. It was the service. Our waitress was lazy (umm water? today? yeah? no? ugh.) She FORGOT our order, we saw it sitting there 15 minutes on the counter, she didnt even bring it to us! We had to ask some other employee where our food was! And yup, you know it, it's been sitting 10 ft away from us getting "old"... Our waitress didn't even apologize! This is the first time it's happened to me in this restaurant and it was the last, because I will not return. Ever. Thanks lazy waitress, you have ruined my day.

Still 4 stars, dependable service every single time!

A few changes have happened to the menu over time - they don't do half rolls anymore (I used to love this feature, sob). But I have now started trying dishes on the Thai side of the menu. And my go-to dish is the Crispy Cantonese noodles. It is a delicious bed of crispy fried thin noodles, with just the right amount of soupy stew over it. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Poor overall experience, mainly because of how they handled a gift certificate situation. Food is average.

I went here having won a Red Bambuu gift certificate worth $40 at a raffle. When I showed the server the certificate, she took it to the counter, where two more servers examined it and discussed it in great detail. Then one guy took the certificate and left the restaurant, and came back a few minutes later. He informed me that yes, I was allowed to use the certificate, but he wanted to know if I bought it from someone or received it free. I was really irritated by now, but politely informed him that I had won it and hadn't paid anything for it. This was good enough for him and they proceed to take our order after 15 minutes. But then, at the end of the meal, they added 18% gratuity to the tab (party of 2) without informing us, because they seemingly didn't trust that we would leave a cash tip for the meal.

All this made for a very poor experience - this is why I don't usually buy restaurant coupons etc, but this was a gift certificate which the restaurant owner had obviously sold to someone, so I can't understand why there was so much hesitation to accept it. Totally unacceptable.
