From the outside this place looks like a total dive... but honestly this is one of the best places to go in Chicago. I have always had a great time at the RLT, not to mention the bar staff is amazing and very welcoming. Nick (one of the bartenders) is top notch! I wouldn't go anywhere else in my neighborhood. They have live music from local local talent, great drink specials. Most of the people who go here are locals (almost reminds me of Cheers). If you want a chill evening off the beaten path in Chicago you need to check out this local gem! You will not be disappointed. If you do make sure you do not leave without trying their signature shot... The Ike turner!!!!

New management! Things are looking up!

Ayo.  This place is hella crusty, which prolly isn't so bad if you're like me and enjoy dive bars.  I've only come on Sun. and Wed. when they serve $1 High Life and some sort of jam band or hip-hop act be on stage.  The bartenders move around a lot, so don't expect them to be extra patient or welcoming.  Aside from that, they good people and doing the best they can.  The clientele consists of college students with unconventional grooming practices and sprinkles of skids from the neighborhood.  If you really new to the fold, then the best place to fraternize is by the pool table or outside with the smokers.  Watch out, doe.  Now and then you might see one dude who had too much to drink and wanna start acting like Patrick Swayze (RIP, fam; deuces to the don) in Roadhouse.  Finally, be prepared to stand on your feet and waste no time in the bathroom, if you know what's good for you!
