2 Words: "Food Poisoned"
We won't be returning there again.
For those who might not get sick, what to expect:
It's basically a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. Same setup with the serving similar atmosphere, just different type of food.
Pros:
-It's a new experience if you haven't been there before.
-A fair amount of selections to choose from
-Very kind employees
-Menu helps newbies understand how to order
-good-tasting food
-claims of fresh, hormone-free chicken (same as with Chipotle)
-lots of parking
Cons:
-Not much seating room and unless you pull them together, the tables barely fit 3 people (you'll also have to get rid of the round trays).
-We got sick from something
-Loud..difficult to hear friends next to or across from you.
-crowded seating area
I had never heard of Roti before until I had gone to the Midwest. Â I was told that I was missing something special and that there aren't that many of them as they are very hard to franchise. I was wondering about this "Roti" place until my colleague said its like a "Mediterranean Chipotle". Â I heard Chipotle and was sold. Â When I got there I was a little confused on how the setup went so I was looking at everyone's plate figuring out what was best for me. Â I originally wanted a salad but then cheated and got a wrap. Â Absolutely delicious. Â I got everything including the Feta cheese on the wrap and its making me wonder if they want to bring one close to my house. Â It would be great - I could actually decide between Roti and Chipotle. Â I love this place, it would be great if there was one closer to me.
Review Source:$7.50 for a single small chicken skewer plate? Â An Armenian place down the road (Siunik) offers a similar plate but with more chicken and larger sides, all more flavorful at that.
Chicken kabobs here at Roti were all white meat, but were dry. Â One would usually relate all-white chicken meat to dryness, but the Armenian place makes 'em to order, slightly less than well done, keeping them juicy. Â Roti makes them ahead of time allowing them to sit and dry out.
Tomato cucumber salad was very disappointing -- the tomatoes weren't very ripe, they were soft and mushy. Â Why bother using these low quality tomatoes at all? Â I would have removed this side from the menu before sacrificing quality.
Hummus wasn't bad. Â Not hard to mess up. Â Roti rice looked pretty, but didn't have much flavor. Â Cous cous was cold and meh.
Definitely felt overpriced for the amount and quality of food. Â Pretty facilities and pretty packaging and bags for food, though. Â Will I return? Â Probably not.
