    2 Words: "Food Poisoned"

We won't be returning there again.

For those who might not get sick, what to expect:
It's basically a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. Same setup with the serving similar atmosphere, just different type of food.

    Pros:
-It's a new experience if you haven't been there before.
-A fair amount of selections to choose from
    -Very kind employees
-Menu helps newbies understand how to order
    -good-tasting food
-claims of fresh, hormone-free chicken (same as with Chipotle)
    -lots of parking

    Cons:
-Not much seating room and unless you pull them together, the tables barely fit 3 people (you'll also have to get rid of the round trays).
    -We got sick from something
-Loud..difficult to hear friends next to or across from you.
    -crowded seating area

I had never heard of Roti before until I had gone to the Midwest.  I was told that I was missing something special and that there aren't that many of them as they are very hard to franchise. I was wondering about this "Roti" place until my colleague said its like a "Mediterranean Chipotle".  I heard Chipotle and was sold.  When I got there I was a little confused on how the setup went so I was looking at everyone's plate figuring out what was best for me.  I originally wanted a salad but then cheated and got a wrap.  Absolutely delicious.  I got everything including the Feta cheese on the wrap and its making me wonder if they want to bring one close to my house.  It would be great - I could actually decide between Roti and Chipotle.  I love this place, it would be great if there was one closer to me.

$7.50 for a single small chicken skewer plate?  An Armenian place down the road (Siunik) offers a similar plate but with more chicken and larger sides, all more flavorful at that.

Chicken kabobs here at Roti were all white meat, but were dry.  One would usually relate all-white chicken meat to dryness, but the Armenian place makes 'em to order, slightly less than well done, keeping them juicy.  Roti makes them ahead of time allowing them to sit and dry out.

Tomato cucumber salad was very disappointing -- the tomatoes weren't very ripe, they were soft and mushy.  Why bother using these low quality tomatoes at all?  I would have removed this side from the menu before sacrificing quality.

Hummus wasn't bad.  Not hard to mess up.  Roti rice looked pretty, but didn't have much flavor.  Cous cous was cold and meh.

Definitely felt overpriced for the amount and quality of food.  Pretty facilities and pretty packaging and bags for food, though.  Will I return?  Probably not.

Good Food.  Quick and Easy.  Only complaint:  I've been there a few times around 7 PM and they are already "shutting down."  No more chicken, no more cous couse, huh?  Your open for another two hours.  Oh well, aside from that....Um, Good I guess...

This place is alright. It's clean, reasonably priced and definitely Chipotle-esque so if you want your food in a hurry, this is a good option.  The food is pretty boring- no where near as tasty as a real Mediterranean place but this would work in a pinch.

We went on a weeknight and the place was pretty empty. It's large, bright and family friendly. I ordered the salad and my husband ordered the steak wrap.  I liked the fact that you can customize with a lot of different vegetarian and meat options. However, both entrees were average and nothing special.  We also ordered hummus and it was a little tart (too much lemon) but not bad. I would come back but there are better options in the area.

Yum! Went to Roti during a debate tournament, came back for it the next day.
Very good Greek food. I got the chicken gyro both times.

I feel like this place is the chipotle of greek food...

I really wish they had these in California. The only reason why it loses one star is because it's not truly authentic mediterranean. The meats aren't shanked off a large stake right before serving or anything.

    but VERY GOOD!

Great food! Awesome staff! Great deal with the kids eat free after 5 pm (I hope they didn't remove this)..... Just a good deal if you eat by yourself.

My family and I eat here about once a week.  The staff in Northbrook are always friendly.  The food is delicious! And I'm pretty sure it's very healthy.  We usually get 2 chicken sandwich wraps and two kids meals and it ends up being about $15 for a family of 4.

I'm curious what corporate genius makes a decision to remove a soup option just as cold weather arrives? Good food, when they stock it, fantastic staff, environment typical mid priced casual. The missing link is an upper management team which makes corporate decisions putting the customer first. Could be the writers of a book titled "A Success, in Spite of Ourselves".  Food is A+ but corporate gets a big fat F for not listening to their customers.

While I would have given a higher rating- I just can't. They have made the not so smart decision to quit carrying their awesome lemon soup. While I can appreciate the decision to not carry it during the summer, it is doesn't make sense to not have it during the colder months. My husband and I each sent management an email asking them  to reconsider. Wouldn't you know it- we each received the exact same email response. A form email?? Really?? Roti- you are not a super chain.

We dine frequently at Roti and by frequently I mean 2-3 times a week. The staff knows us well and spends time conversing with us. The news of the soup not returning for the cooler months was met with disappointment. What kind of management does that? Are they asking their staff for input on what the customer is requesting? I have heard the same response time and time again- management doesn't really want to hear what the staff thinks. My response to management is - it's cold out and people would like the option to have soup but since you no longer have that option- see you next summer. PS fix your "free wireless" that you advertise on your front door. It has never worked.

I came here to grab dinner with a friend after work for the first time this week.

The food is good, and I liked that it was Chipotle-style, with an assembly line to make up a quick plate of food. I went with a Mediterranean plate, which is the rice, a meat, 3 sides, and some pita bread. I worried I'd leave hungry, but I was stuffed due to the large portion. The chicken was really tasty and I really liked their cucumber dill sauce too. Really, everything was very tasty, especially the couscous.

The only reason I knocked a star off was because of the price. A plate and a drink was over $10. My friend added baklava, and she was into $13ish for her meal. To me, that's a little steep for a quick dinner without a waiter.

After scoping out yelp for a quick bite to eat, my husband and I decided on Roti. Mediterranean isn't a typical style of food I enjoy but I was willing to give it a shot. Right away I thought this restaurant was very similar to Chipotle. (I like chipotle, so that's not a bad thing). Quick and easy, my only thought would be I wish they had more appetizers. But regardless, the food was quite tasty. My husband and I both did chicken sandwiches. Mine was roti, roasted chicken, mild sauce, couscous and cucumber salad. It was DELICIOUS. My husband has roti, chicken kabob, medium red pepper sauce, couscous and cucumber salad. He enjoyed that as well. BIGGEST COMPLAINT: open more locations!

Roti is an amazing concept - Mediterranean food, Chipotle Style.  What's good about it is that it's Americanized.  If I wanted real authentic middle eastern food, I'd go to a real authentic middle eastern place.  My favorite is a Steak Roti on flatbread, with hot sauce and tzaziki sauce, loaded up with carmelized onions, eggplant, hummus, feta, and the cucumber/tomato relish.

They lose a star for getting rid of a few good ingredients: the original flatbread, asiago cheese, and babaganoush.

I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean food, and the falafel's that are made here are delicious. I like that they incorporated the Chipotle assembly line, and if there's something you don't know, or need the menu explained, JUST ASK them!

And this place is an unbelievable bargain for a nice $5 meal and they keep the restaurant nice and clean.

*lose 1 star since a couple years ago, my friends mom choked on their food and vows never to come back :p

Sometimes, I don't want to fuss with waiters telling lame jokes ("I see you REALLY didn't like the food" in response to a clean plate, told multiple times over the course of a meal - really?!) and opt for the (mostly) socialization awkwardness free dining experience of quick-serve. Today, J took me to try Roti.

I'm totally down with the Chipotle assembly line, so the same thing replaced with Mediterranean flavors works for me. I had the steak roti on flatbread with spicy sauce (of course) and piled on the veggies. Red cabbage slaw (so crunchy and flavorful!), cous cous, tomato and cucumber salad, sumac onions...mmm! I love vegetables so much! These are some truly great options. Spanish egglant, you're on my radar! You can have as few or as many of the free veggies as you want, but being the Roti n00b, I overstuffed my wrap and it literally split apart and I ended up eating quite a bit of my fillings with a fork and making a mess. Lesson learned. Next time, maybe opt for a salad or fewer toppings (or bring a bib). The lemon chicken soup is nice and tangy, but a little too thick for my taste.

The only minor issue we had was no one helped us for a while at the check-out register. Eventually, we were spotted by a manager who apologized for the wait and comped our drinks and brought us pitas on the house. A most excellent save!

I don't like it. I usually LOVE Mediterranean food too. To me the food here is  a watered down version of the real thing, not enough flavor where it should have it, too much when it shouldn't. I've given it several tries, and been unhappy every time.

HOWEVER, my picky, picky I -won't -eat -anything -healthy, I -don't -really- like -THAT- kind- of -food husband devours it. Craves it. Dreams about coming here.

To each his own. That's why I give it three stars. Great to some, not so great to others, I think it is a matter of palate. It is reasonably priced, and a better alternative than fast food. Service is very quick, and you can customize what you get. So I give them credit for that.

Don't feel like Mediterranean food is too outside of your tasty food box. Well, maybe it is but I can assure you that it'll be a delicious adventure.

In the lunch environment dominated by sandwich places and $8-10 meals, Roti offers up delicious lunch options for only $5. Yup, $5. I didn't fat finger the number.

Sure, I've gone the route of the $8-10 Roti meal and I've enjoyed it. But why empty your wallet when you don't have to? Whether it's the wrap or the Sultan plate, I always leave fatter and happier.

There are a lot of lunch options in that plaza. But if you get there a hair before the lunch crowd begins to pour in, it'll be an easy-to-enjoy experience. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Give it a go. I bet you'll like it.

Take the customer friendly and efficient format of Chipotle and combine it with the ingredients and spices from Mediterranean cuisine and you have Roti. Think cumin, coriander, kababs, pita, and baba ghannoush and you have the makings of the next big food chain.

The format is as simple as one-two-three. Step one: pick the base. Step two: pick the meat. Step three: pick the fillers (i.e. vegetables, sauce, etc.). Although you may not be a fan for this style of food chains, you can't deny that the food is fresh and tastes great. This is the type of healthier food that I can appreciate. I'm no health nut but I try to eat better when I can without sacrificing flavor. At Roti, you have a meal that is filling and full of flavor without the added fat. Did I mention that kids eat free here?

Eating fresh and counting calories? Whoa, this doesn't sound like me. Does this mean that I am going to stop eating buffalo wings and Chinese buffets? Probably not but at least I have a new favorite food chain that's different than the usual burger and fries.

healthy and pretty good. I had the double chicken kabob, tomato/cucumber salad, rice, mixed green salad, and pita. The chicken itself is lean white meat so its healthy. I thought the chicken and rice was a little dry but i expected that due to them not cooking it in fats and oils. figure about 10 bucks a plate depending how hungry you are.

    Id go here again.

This review makes me so sad.  When Roti first opened at Willow Festival, I was thrilled.  I loved the downtown locations and was happy for one that was convenient to the non-work parts of my life.

Unfortunately, the quality here has gone significantly downhill.  The falafal was still delightful, but as for the rest...  The Mediterranean plate now comes with rice + 3 sides.  The rice is very meh - not much flavor at all.  The salads aren't nearly as good as they used to be - it was pretty evident that my salad today featured canned tomatoes.   The bread was not at all warm.  And mostly the service was just terribly apathetic.  I got baba gannoush for one of my sides and mixed greens for another and the guy behind the counter just threw the salad on top of the baba gannoush.  Not useful.

There aren't a ton of other med options in the area, particularly ones with healthy options.  So I'll probably give Roti another chance.  Besides which, I really do like the falafal.  But I will certainly lower my expectations in the future.

After Roti opened and I had been there a couple times, I sort of stopped going.  As you can tell from my last review, I just wasn't overly impressed and thought there were better options for lunch in the area.

However, I returned with a coworker recently and found it to be really good.  Maybe they worked out the kinks, maybe I'm ordering slightly different off the menu.  Either way, I liked it enough to look forward to it as an option again.

My boyfriend graciously drove up to Glenview to meet me for lunch today. Thanks Mike!  And I thought Roti might be a good choice but I was a bit worried since it was so hit or miss a couple years ago.  I'm happy to report that it was again fantastic.  I find myself especially enjoying their roasted veggies and the cabbage slaw.  The meat is better than I remembered but I did order a veggie roti recently and found that just as satisfying, if not even more.

I am also happy to report that after being open for nearly three years, the place is probably just as clean as it was the day they opened.  In fact, I had to look at the date of my first review to remember when they opened and was shocked that it has been that long.  So kudos to them for keeping the place looking fresh.

Service was quick and efficient, but the food was less than impressive.

I enjoyed the steak roti on my mediterranean plate.  That was the best part of the whole meal; it's just that there wasn't a whole lot of it.  Definitely less than a serving of meat.  The eggplant was sour and acidic.  The hummus was a-ok, but the baba ghanouj was like mealy mush, and the rice was super bland.  I also added a large order of falafels to my meal, but it was like fried, starchy, chickpea mush.

FYI kids eat free with purchase of adult meals on weekdays.  I'll be saving my $12 for a lunch elsewhere next time.

We just stumbled upon this place last night as we were in the area at REI. I see some reviews already say its the Chipotle of mediterranean food or Pita Inn meets Chipotle and that's exactly what we were saying last night. Fresh food with great options for meat eaters and vegetarians dished out quickly in a chic yet fast food atmosphere.

I ordered a plate and for 7.50 got three falafel, rice, my choice of three sides (for me spicy eggplant, cous cous, and roasted vegetables), and my choice of two sauces (for me hummus and this spicy stuff that cleared my sinuses out). All washed down with a bottle of Peroni beer. My beau ordered a sandwich for 6.50 with steak (which he found a bit tough) and any sides and sauces he wanted on top. (They said no limit. He got feta and tahini.)

This place is great. Fast, fresh, tasty food and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

I really enjoy Mediterranean food. Even a bad dish is really not all that bad. I would like to thank my wife for starting this addiction. If it wasn't for her, I may have never tried this very tasty and healthy cuisine.

We had to make a few stops up in Northbrook one day and Lara suggested that we go here. She seemed to think that I would enjoy it. She really did build it up and I was starting to get worried abut this place disappointing me. She was absolutely right though as I certainly did enjoy it thoroughly.

We walked in and I had to roll my eyes and sigh. This place just screamed fast food. I saw the long counter and I felt my hopes start to fade. I immediately thought of mass produced trays of product sitting under a heat lamp. I tried to not let my prior fast food prejudices get in the way of this meal as I stepped up to the counter to place my order.

After studying the menu for a bit, I decided on the Venetian plate. It consisted of fire-grilled chicken or steak (I had the steak), a pita, baba ghannoush, cous-cous, and tomato & cucumber salad. I thought that this would be a very representational plate to order to sample a variety of their fare. As I dug in to my heaping plate of food, all of my doubts were washed away. This stuff was good actually it was very good and now that I think about it, it was extremely good. Everything was fresh, tasty and well prepared. I could not ask for more from this meal.

I did have a few complaints. The staff did not seem to be really that friendly and the place had a typical fast-food, not really too comfortable dining area. These little complaints caused this place to lose a star but by no means will it deter me from coming back when I am in the area.

Sometimes it pays to temper your hungry rage and figure out how the orderign process works before walking up to the counter.  I walked to the menu spot and started trying to memorize all of the toppings I wanted on my falafel.  There were way too many things to memorize so I just started spitting out all of them to the person putting it together before realizing this was a Chipotle like operation where it was more point and shoot.

In the rush I think I probably included way too many toppings on my pita.  It also did not help that I was eating it in the car.  Both of these things could result in an extra star in the next visit.

This place has good food at a fairly good value but they need to simplify the menu listings on the wall to make it easier for people to order. Too many dishes are basically identical to others yet have their own spot on the menu making them seem "different." The Mediterranean Plate vs. Rice Bowl is a great example - the only real difference was more rice in the round bowl vs a pita added to the oval plate - silly. It would be much better with a simply columnar choice or follow the Chipotle lead - a plate includes this, a bowl that, a sandwich this, a salad that and then price those four options. Charge an extra dollar or whatever to use a kebab instead of the Roti meats (vertical spit cooked pieces of meat sliced off like a gyros) and be done with it!

On to the food review - the Roti beef today was tough and pieces cut too large. Maybe it was the new guy behind the counter that cut it (we went on a Saturday night and he was obviously being trained) but the new toughness of the meat versus what it used to be like when they first opened tells me they are cutting costs and using a different cut of beef than before. Trust me on this - I used to work at the beef council and "know my beef cuts" and something not goo d has changed here.an upgrade for the kebabs and be done with it - simplicity in ordering is always better.

The ratatouille-like eggplant cold stew was slightly spicy and flavorful. The rice this time was a dissapointment - again it appears that something changed slightly - it seems the rice was drier and had much less flavor today than in the past. Can't be sure what changed becasue rice should not be the start like the meat shoud be however the lack of flavor is not acceptable.

My other "beef" with this place is the weird and ridiculous way they reward their frequent customers - you can't get credit for two entrees on one card but you can split your order and pay for it in separate bills and have two Roti rewards cards. Really annoying and a slap in the face to loyal customers - all that "game" does is piss people off. Also they won't give credit for entrees purchased with a Groupon - silly again. We ended up splitting our purchases into non-entree items on one order and entrees on another in order to get the credit on the entrees. Weird pricing policy.

Seeing the price related menu quality changes and weird rules we wonder if this place might be the brainchild of tight-wad accountants that don't know anything about marketing and customer satisfaction!

Nestled amidst the big box stores in a new development near The Glen and Mount Trashmore, the northern suburbs' finest golf experience, Roti is a great way to break up your lunchtime routine of the usual fast casual haunts.

Structured like, yes, Chipotle, one will find a large menu board before facing an eager employee manning the assembly line. Options are salads, sandwiches (on lavash or in pita), or plates. The ordering process is a tad confusing but, from what I gather, select steak, chicken, salmon, falafel, or roasted vegetables plus any number of sauces and additional toppings. Pay $8.50. Leave happy and with tons of leftovers.

After trying to few different offerings with mixed results, I've finally found my perfect balance of flavors and textures. A steak roti (way more flavorful than the largely oily dark meat chicken) with sweet Spanish eggplant, crunchy cabbage slaw, tangy Sumak onions, hummus, feta, kalamata olives, and delicious red pepper aioli. Eat half now and save half for dinner.

Americanized Mediterranean in the serving line style of Chipotle! Create (they make it for you) your own pita sandwich! And other stuff!

I chose the Venetian Chicken Plate, which offers a sampling of their chicken, baba ganoush, hummus, cucumber salad, and cous cous, as well as one pita pocket. It was a great way to try their variety before attempting to navigate creating my sandwich. I would definitely come back...it was delicious!

I've been working in the restaurant business for a while now.   So here's my take on the place.

I went here for lunch today and sampled the steak sandwich on laffa bread and the chopped chicken sandwich.

I must say, I really liked all of the flavors in my food.  Well-seasoned with just the right amount of salt to bring out the flavors of the food, but without being overly salty.  I can't comment about how authentic it was, since I'm asian, but I did like the flavors a lot.

So, I was a bit perplexed by why people only gave this place 3 stars.

I think the reason why this place gets only three stars is because:

    1.  All of the toppings that you put inside the sandwich is a bit confusing
Customers want something simple, without making themselves feel stupid.  My instincts were when their employee asked me, "What would you like in your sandwich?" was to answer, "I'll have everything" without knowing if these flavors actually tasted good together and me subconsciously trying to get my money's worth.

So, for someone who doesn't know anything about Med food, this can be a little intimidating.

When I got home, I loved all of the individual flavors, but everything was just a hodge-podge of flavors, it was too much.  One bite would have a ton of feta, when the next had a ton of babba gannouj, and the next would be a big bit of beef.  SImplify.

I think it would be better if they just moved a little away from the whole "customizing" concept since, most people don't know what the best sauces are for chicken, beef or shrimp.    Just restrict your customer's choices a little so they can't make the mistake of pairing the wrong ingredients together and let them have a little freedom in choosing the vegetables they put on their sandwiches.  I think they'll appreciate it.  In other words, simply and don't worry so much about how many crazy flavor permutations you can put on your food.

    2.  Focus on how they assemble the food.  Like i said earlier, I loved the flavors, but one bite was all chesse, the next was all beef, the next all babba gannouj.    Assemble the food so that the ingredients are uniformly dispersed throughout the food.   It'll taste a lot better.

    3.  The assembly counter was a clusterf#ck.  Really, there we pan lids stew all over the place.  The assembly line had sauces that were iced down with sauce bowls and veggies, which I thought was a nice touch, but there wasn't much ice underneath the bowls to make it look nice and "cold"  and it wasn't very organized.   The sides of the sauce bowls had dried sauce of the sides.  The sauce bowls obviously weren't changed regularly.

    4.  I like the idea of open kitchen, but if you do an open kitchen, the sightlines have to well planned out and also the it has to be spotless.
In my opinion the kitchen could've been a little cleaner.   If you want to see a clean kitchen, go to Bayless's XoCo in Chicago.  It's the cleanest kitchen I've ever seen in my entire life.

However, I would go back, because I loved all of the flavors.    I just think that customer bad experiences here are a result of not knowing what to order and the price point.  Too often, I think customers confuse food quality with quantity.  I thought the quality and the flavors were good, just simplify and focus on execution.

Definitely the Mediterranean Chipotle! Glad others people thought the same from reading reviews before.

Like how this place is fitting for lunch or dinner and is relatively fast. The staff was really friendly and allowed my indecisive self to try many options in their lineup.

I fell in love with my falafel sample and had them stuff it in a flatbread wrap with  greek salad (cuckes, tomatoes, olive oil), Tzatziki (yogurt/cucumber/dill) sauce and hummus.

You can have things in a wrap or plate option. I sampled a roasted red pepper sauce that was pretty awesome too. I like how you can always order a few pieces of falafel on the side too (better than having fries -right?)

Outdoor seating is always a plus too :)

Hmmm, can you say "Yuck"? There is NOTHING even remotely Mediterranean about this place. In fact, there is nothing even tasty, Mediterranean or not. I ordered the steak kabob with a side of falafel and tossed 3/4 of it in the trash.

The steak kabob was ok, not great. No flavor, but of decent quality for the price. It came with rice, salad, pita and a sauce. The rice was bland, no flavor, no spice and undercooked. The salad had no flavor either. It consisted of shredded romaine and under ripe tomatoes. The pita was fresh and warm, the garlic sauce was ok, but tasted like salad dressing from a jar. The falafel was a total disaster. Mushy inside and out, tasted more like potato than chick peas and had no "oomph" at all. Just a slightly soft ball of dough.

They are also completely disorganized. When I arrived at 7:45pm there were about 12 guests in the restaurant and the staff were all scrambling around like whirling dervishes! The manager was running back and forth scooping and slopping food onto plates, trays of already cooked chicken skewers sitting in pans on the counter, not being kept warm, but just sitting. Half of the bowls at the salad area were empty and when the young woman who filled my order opened the warming drawer there were no pitas available. She looked around and just grabbed a pita in foil that had been sitting on the counter since I walked in.

I know, this is "fast" food along the lines of "get in and get out," but with so many other choices so close by, this kitschy Med concept will be a pass for me. Pita Inn has two locations within ten minutes of this place and I will stick with the real deal. After all, Pita Inn is fresher, tastier, authentic and less spendy!

I can see why Shaun S. said this place is like a Mediterranean Chipotle. From the decor, the ordering process and the dining area, It is set up just like one. I just wish I came out with the same satisfaction I get from a Chipotle.

I ordered the falafel plate as I've been on a falafel kick for a while now. Maybe I'm just spoiled with some great falafel joints in the city but I definitely rate Roti's as my worst. It wasn't bad at all rather it was different and just not my fave. They were way less dense and crisp than I like.

I will come back though as they had other good options. They aren't too expensive but not cheap either so I'll just make an occasional visit whenever my co-workers choose the place.

I tried the chicken kebab sandwich with a side of the lemon chicken mediterranean soup. Also: fountain Cherry coke, which is one of the few ways to win me over despite reservations.

However, even with the allure of Cherry Coke, the place is a bit pricey for the food, especially when I compare it to the massive amount of food I could get at PIta Inn, for less money. I did like that I could customize my sandwich with whatever I wanted.

The service was mixed. I walked in and went to the wrong counter (the place was empty so I walked to the registers instead of the "front") and instead of informing me that I was standing at the wrong end, one of the workers looked at me and asked "Are you ordering?". When I replied "Yes", he just looked at me like I was crazy then walked away. Then another girl came to take my order, and she politely asked me to step down as to start my sandwich. (Which is when I realized I stood at the wrong end) She was very friendly and helpful with my order, so service that was half-polite and half-rude equals a meh in my book.

    The soup was delicious though.

Vegetarians, you must hit this place up. It's fast. Cheap and just plain tasty.

I always get the falafel sandwich. It's filling without making you feel bad about yourself. And if you order a side of hummus and pita, they give you the entire container of hummus! It's amazing!

There are also pizza, plate or salads options. Everything is built by going down the line. It's pretty much the Mediterranean chipotle.

I just wish they served french fries. Then i'd be set!

Wow, what a unique place. Very mediterranean themed, and worth a trip.

Basically, think of if you combined chipotle with pita inn...that's kind of of what this is. The falafal does *NOT* taste like traditional middle eastern falafel at all. it's still good, but I wanted to make that clear.

Really, this place is cool, and it's really a good deal actually. The salad customization stuff is a cool thing, and I like it.

I got the falafel plate - six pieces of smushy falafel, some diced cucumbers/tomatoes, shredded lettuce, choice of sauce (I got hummus and chili paste) and a piece of pita bread.  The pita bread was the best part of the dish.  The lunch did not fill me up and I am an average eater.

Bottom line:  do NOT eat here.
Potbelly is nearby.  It's much tastier, more filling and costs less.

I can't exactly classify what type of food this is, but it's delicious.

Let's get real here people - I'm Jewish. I've been to Israel, I've been to Greece, I know all about Mediterranean food. Roti doesn't duplicate those flavors from abroad but it definitely makes it their own in a delicious and healthy way.

I used to work 5 minutes away from here in Lincolnshire where there is hardly anything nearby so we were DEEEELIGHTED when Roti came to town. I was one of their first guests that week they opened their doors and have been a loyal customer ever since.

I usually stick with steak, whether it's on a platter or in a sandwich. I put all sorts of flavor into my meals, especially their caramelized onions, very spicy sauce, and hummus (which I think is delicious). But the BEST thing they have there is the falafel - small bites of heaven, not too greasy and full of flavor. My new favorite dish is the summer platter which gives you  a little bit of everything and some pita to dip in your hummus and babaganoush.

As for your sinful side, the desserts there are out of this world. The cookies, brownies, and "cookie brownies" are to die for. Their sangria is pretty good (I prefer red) and it comes in a pretty big serving.

The customer service is outstanding. Matt, the redheaded manager, has been nothing but generous and pleasent to me and my many guests that I bring in. The restaurant and the bathroom are clean, modern, and sunny. You can see the food being made and prepared right in front of you (think Chipotle) and that gives me a reassurance that I'm getting safe and clean food. I'm now a card-carrying member of the Roti rewards club (buy 10 meals, get one free!) and an addict for life.

Over the winter, Roti offered employees of my company 25% off lunch every Thursday.  I took this opportunity to eat their salads several times.  I got it nice and simple, with just cucumber, tomato, and onions atop the greens and meat (usually steak).  They are very generous with the meat on the salads.

Once I tried their falafel plate, and it seems like a good value at $6.75.  You get about eight falafels, some greenery, a pita, and a sauce (take the red pepper, trust me), so it's a relatively light choice.

I've recently been informed that Roti's cups are corn plastic.  If that's true, it's just a drop in the bucket.  CHANGE THE REST OF YOUR WASTEFUL PRACTICES, ROTI.

I am a definite fan of Roti. Me and my pal Christy from work go here quite often. I agree that the decor is all over the place and there should be more seating, but overall this place has good food, fast, friendly service.

I always get the fallafel sandwich but you have so many options in the way of sauce, cheeses, etc. it seems like a different sandwich every time!

There is really a dearth of restaurants in this area, so my co-workers and I were psyched when this place opened up.  Is it the most authentic meditteranean food ever?  No.  But it is delicious, so who cares?

My favorite is the chicken roti with roasted red pepper sauce and carmelized onions.  Yum!  I also like the falafel, though it is a little more moist than what I'm used to.

The only downside to this place is the lack of seating.  It gets crowded at lunch time, and some people who don't grasp the concept of fast food feel the need to linger over their empty plates.  Also, the decor is kind of schizophrenic.  (Imagine exposed brick, murano glass light fixtures and paisley all in the same room.)

These are obviously minor issues, however, since I now eat here at least once a week. :)
