Note that as I write this review I'm drooling all over my keyboard!
I've been here over a dozen times and have kept coming back for many, many years ... ever since they had their original location that burnt down years ago.
The Sabri Nihari is just amazing. The gravy is creamy and delicious, and don't forget to throw some jalapenos and ginger to stew in there to make it nice and spicy. The beef is tender and juicy. I like to order some garlic naan and have at the spiced gravy/shredded beef .... Great comfort food!
My other favorite dish here is the Frontier Chicken which is to drool over. It comes with jalapenos and lots of cilantro. While it's supposed to be spicy (and it is), it's not overpowering and is better described as extremely flavorful. Get some raita (cucumber yogurt chutney) and pour a little over it too for extra flavor, and to balance it if it's too intense.
The food as Sabri is great authentic Pakistani cuisine, the service is great, the food comes out fast, and the prices are low. Eating at Sabri is always a great value, and you'll probably have leftovers, which I always treasure from this place.
Highly recommended if you're going to dine on Devon!
I don't know who has been writing such bad reviews but I am so sorry about your experience. Â My family and I went to the Sabri in Lombard and I wanted to see how this compared. I was not disappointed.
The servers were so attentive and friendly. Â They made wonderful conversation. Â We were even informed when we ordered the Chicken Charga that it would take 40 minutes (which was no problem). Â The food was excellent. Â When we had to take boxes for the food we didn't finish they even gave us an extra aloo paratha.
The restaurant is decorated very nicely and kept clean. Â We were sitting by this cute bubble contraption and they turned the lights on for us so we could get the full effect (without us needing to ask).
