Worst place ever!!! Bought a groupon for this restuarant. Visited for a lunch Buffett and the restuarant was empty. The food was cold and stale. Hardly any choices for vegetarians. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

There's a $5 admission at the door on Fridays and Saturdays because of a live dj and a 30 minute belly dancer.  The hookahs were approximately $16 and $12 during happy hour (3-6 daily).  Do note that you can smoke in there as well (at least cigars for sure).  The server recommended the passion or paradise fruit and tiger blood.  Both were amazing.  It's BYOB for $5 per person.  As for the food, the beef pies (4 per serving) and gyro wrap were tender and delicious, but the chicken pies (4 per serving) were too salty to be enjoyable.  The music was a nice mix of Indian, Latin, hip hop, and house.  SanabelS closes at 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays but the lights turned on at 1 am making us feel as if they wanted to kick us out already.

The coolest part of the experience was the manager getting on the dance floor and doing a traditional Greek dance.  Overall, the service was excellent, the food was above par, but the extra expenses were bummers.

Wonderful food... Frank the owner was very cordial. Be sure to get the hummus, tbouli, cabbage rolls, chicken schwerma, or the lamb kabobs.. All were very good. If you rate the food less than good on here, then you do not know what you are talking about or you have no taste for Middle Eastern cuisine.

I bought a groupon for this place, and it fed 4 people at a fairly decent price.  I love Mediterranean food, and I read some of the reviews on here, some good and some bad.  Well, I am one of those that will give this place a good review.

They offer lunch buffet from 11am-2pm Mon-Fri for ONLY $7.99, you get to try a little bit of everything.  That's cheap for a buffet.  The food could have been a little hotter, but the chicken wrap and the rice were my favorite to check out.  The egg rolls weren't bad, but they were deep fried in a bucket of grease it seemed like.  I'm a hummus addict, and their hummus was pretty decent.

If you want fresh pita bread, all you need to do is ask, and they will bring it to your table.

Service was excellent, if you didn't know what was at the buffet table, someone will describe it to you.

It's a hookah bar, so it seems like a cool place to hang out at in the evening.  You will leave this place with a food coma, but it was good!

Sanabels is a family friendly place with amazing decor and great atmosphere. they have live entertainment consistently every weekend unlike some other Mediterranean / hookah lounge restaurant which claim to have live belly dancing and live music but actually don't . The owners are super attentive . Great place for birthdays and large groups or if you are just looking for something a little more then just a regular restaurant experience :)

This one is tricky, I did like the place during my first visit.. They had a wall in between and food was great... and pretty good loud music... so after a month i went there again for a hukka not food same thing good music good hukka... so i went back again after 3 weeks... what  what what... what happened... The wall was gone... the place was dark (low lighted) all i could see was people having hukka... I though they dont serve food any more and the hukka was terrible... The change seems to be killing the business... It seemed to be a family & fun place now it seems like a dark alley...

The customer service was decent. They were very friendly, but didn't come around to check on our table as often as we needed them to. Great location. This place does not have alcohol, but for $5 per head, you can BYOB. They had love music and a belly dancer. The pation #9 hookah blend was good. The birthday hookah was entirely too harsh.

We went on a Wednesday night, so there wasn't much people there. The atmosphere was very chill, the service was great, the people around us were all having fun, and the food was decent. I really enjoyed the meat pie, especially dipped in their hummus.

I will never ever be back at this place....I used to like it, not anymore.
The food became bad...bad hookah ....and the owner has no respect at all for others business owners next door.I gave 1 star only because I had too.

Fun atmosphere hookah, music & belly dancer. It's BYOB but they charge $5.00 per person to drink there. Food was very disappointing. I would go again to hang out but pass on the food.

Very good.  Of all the Mediterranean restaurants in DFW this is my favorite.  They have the best pita and hummus and the chicken schwarmas were soooo yummy!  I have not personally been when the belly dancers are here, but I'd love to check it out.  I used to come here when it was a Turkish restaurant by another name...my fiance hated it because it was super smokey all the time.  I did not notice any smoke issues at this new place,  but people still smoke hookahs.

Me and my friends usually hit up Jasmine Hookah (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/jasmine-hookah-richardson">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>) out in Richardson when we are in the mood for a low-key evening of nibbles and hookah, but it is a bit of a drive. So, when SanabelS opened in nearby Addison and advertised hookah, we were intrigued.

That being said, it's wise not to fall in love with any new restaurant in Addison just due to the very volatile nature of restaurant row. Businesses open and close constantly, and often you find yourself in love with a place only to have them close. Even older places aren't immune to this; I'm still missing Papa's Pizza.

But, its siren song of nearby hookah, paired with a Groupon, convinced us to try it. Over all, it was a good experience, but it had its ups and downs:

    Pros:
    - The food was decent. I got a gyro, my friends got slouvaki and a pita. The lebneh and pita was pretty good. The hummus was hummus, if good.
    - Good variety of popular brands of shisha tobacco for hookah.
    - Nice, well-lit atmosphere. I like Jasmine, but it is a bit run-down.
    - Belly dancer was gorgeous, and talented. Better than average by far.
    - Live music was well-done.
    - Waitress was nice, very pleasant.
    - Owner came by to say hi, nice fellow.

    Cons:
    - Food was good, but a bit on the pricey side. However, this is Addison and on-par with everyone else.
    - We did not get tongs to tend our own hookah. When it ran too hot and began to grow harsh, we could not move the coals. Rather, we had to wait until we flagged down the waitress, and get her to go get tongs.
    - The live music was good, but also loud. Hookah is usually a night of socializing, but the volume made that difficult to impossible at times.
    - Our biggest issue is that there is a limit of 2 people per hookah, with a $5 up-charge for each additional person. We usually get two hookahs for 6 people and are satisfied with the amount we smoke, but we spent the money to get a third pipe. By the time we left, some of us were feeling a bit over-smoked and did not finish all three. I'm not sure of the point of the up-charge, as we are using the same amount of tobacco, save that we get an extra tip guard ...but those cost pennies?
    - The parking lot is SMALL. We had difficulty  finding space to park.

All in all, we will go again. However, it will probably be on a non-Saturday night, especially one without live music advertised.

I'll agree with other reviews that I think this place is better off for the hookah and night entertainment than for the food.

I went with 3 others and we split a hummus, foul, and lamb gyro. The hummus was a bit runnier than I'd hoped but the baskets of warm pita bread compensated for the lack of thicker hummus. In fact, since we were splitting a hummus plate between four it actually helped being runnier; otherwise, it wouldn't have lasted. The foul was incredibly thick and filling though saturated with olive oil and needed more seasoning (I topped it with salt.) The gyro came with fries (delicious! think curly fry seasoning on regular fries) and a side of pickled veggies.

Aside from the food, the restaurant was hosting a live violinist/guitarist/singer that was performing in multiple languages and the environment was generally pleasant, loud but upbeat, and dark. I, as well as my table, were craving a drink but I guess it was our fault for not looking into the BYOB policy it holds. When we came in there was only one table open and even sharing the waitresses they had we experienced slow service. Had we been drinking or smoking this probably wouldn't have been a big issue. Overall though the food was ok, the service a bit slow, and the environment decent. I'd go back if someone suggested SanabelS though I wouldn't be the first to make a move.

What a great find!  Went today for the first time. Had a wonderful lunch. The hummus was delicious, the falafel perfectly cooked, and they had traditional Arabic pickles.  YUMMO!  The owner was there and was very hospitable and friendly. I'll definitely make this a regular stop.  Can't wait to go back on a Friday or Saturday evening for live entertainment and hookah.

This restaurant/hookah lounge was nice.  The service was excellent.  The owner seated us and our waitress was great.  The owner introduced himself to us and came to our table when we were finished eating and smoking.  We are moving to the area and he introduced us to someone who works at an apartment complex to help us find a place.  The music was great.  The food was great.  He was having work done on the place that night to make it an even better experience.

Overall- 3 stars; the food was a hit or miss; perhaps this place is better as a hookah lounge and for night entertainment.

We came here for lunch on Saturday for tasting our favorite Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. This place was completely empty. The menu was not terribly large, featuring typical items such as Shish Kabob, Hummus, Babaganouj, Falafel, and the like. The décor was nice and classy.

Since we were the only guests, we were warmly received and enjoyed full attention from the nice waitress!

    Now onto the food:

    Thumbs-up:

The Spinach Pies ($7)- Very delicious! This was different from spanakopita (phyllo pastry with spinach and feta cheese). Rather, they were pockets filled with spinach and diced onions.

Freakeh Soup ($1.99 with entrée)- "cracked green wheat boiled with chicken cubes"; hubby said it was really tasty, and he gobbled up the soup in no time.

Peach Tea ($2.49)-Full of flavors and free for ref ills; our nice waitress even offered us a cup to go at the end!

As a vegetarian, I also appreciate that vegetarian items are clearly marked in the menu!
    :-)

    So-So:

Shrimp Scampi ($14.99)- Well-prepared but the shrimp was of moderate quality, according to hubby. He has had better ones.

Vegetable Soup ($1.99 with entrée)- with potatoes, carrot, squash, peas and corn; ordinary and bland

Hummus and Babaganouj (as sides for the entrée)- OK; we have had better ones in many other places.

    Thumbs-down:

Vegetable Shish Kabob ($10.99)- The portion (of the kabob) was small, and the taste mediocre. I like the ones in Ziziki's or Stratos Greek Taverna a lot better!

Pita Bread- Tasted store-bought, rather than fresh and warm.

Nescafe Cake ($6.99)- This was a major disappointment! I had been drooling over this "signature dessert" with all the hypes ("layers of sweet biscuits dipped in nescafe"). However, the taste of this cake was mediocre; the portion (of actual cake) was really small, buried in a sea of whip cream on a large plate. Unfortunately I hate whip cream!

Overall, I think the food was slightly over-priced, give the portion and taste/quality.

Perhaps the buffet would be a better value. I heard that weekday lunch buffet was only $7.99, but the weekend buffet is served at 8 pm at $18.99, with similar selections but extravagantly priced for LIVE night entertainments!

My four friends and I are never coming back here!!!! I live to find places like this in DFW. My dad's from Lebanon and since he doesn't live in TX I have to go find a good place for Mediterranean food. This place was recommended to me by a family member and it was also on Groupon, so I purchased two deals. When we walked in the restaurant we were told about the $18 buffet. Okay first off that's way way too much money for what they were serving. Second, the menu was about average, but there were no combos, no vegetarian options besides the mezza, and the prices were rediculous. We asked the waitress if we could use more than one Groupon, since we were going to be on separate checks and trust me I know the one per table rule that's why I asked first. I also asked if the buffet could be included and the waitress said yes to both my questions so that's why most of us chose buffets. When our checks arrived the manager rudely popped out from behind our waitress and  started stating the rules of Groupon to us. He did not mention his name, did not apologize for misinforming our waitress, and just argued the whole time with our table. DO NOT COME HERE. The food doesn't even pass for Mediterranean, the manager is terribly crass, and the music was so loud we had to scream to talk to each other. The only time you turn the music up is for dancing, whether it be for everyone or just the belly dancer. You want a REAL hookah spot, go to Narah's in Pantego for (for hookah only). You want amazing quality Mediterranean food at a FANTASTIC price, go to Al Wadi in Bedford off of Brown Trail (Buffet every Sunday $10) and they will show you what a buffet is supposed to taste and look like. You want the entire experience this place TRIED to show us, go to Habibi's in Richardson. They have great food, great hookah, belly dancers, a dj, AND their kitchen was open passed 3am last time I was there. Al Amir is way better than this place too and down the street, so I wish we went there instead. I'd give this place a zero and a half if I could.

My first visit was yesterday , the decoration was OK from inside, the food was very little even it's not enough for kids, also the food was expensive, the service was bad I got my order after more than hour and a half, I AM NOT SATISFIED!!!!!!, this is my last visit and I don't recommend to go there "Waste Money and Time"

The first thing that I noticed about this place was the hospitality. Everyone was very nice and a few people came by our table to make sure we were ok.

As for the food, it was good. Not great, not bad, just good. The hummus was a but bland but the baba ganouj was excellent. We had the chicken shish kabob and the kufta. Both were tastey. They both came with 2 sides. Overall, the food was good-besides the hummus and pita, which were just ok. They also have a wide variety of Hookah, but I did not try any.

I really wanted to try to buffet, but it didn't start until 8 and we were there at 6. 8 pm might be a little late for some people, and it might be a good thing to start a little earlier. I think this place is good enough to go back!

First off let me say that I just Love this place!
The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing time with friends, open enough to have a party, and romantic enough to have a first date.
I'm not a guru of Mediterranean food nor have I been all over Dallas to judge who is the best BUT this place has my vote. The food has yet to fail me because it is Always cooked to perfection. And yummy to the Hummus!!!
The staff is wonderful as always. They never fail to make sure each visit is as good as the first. Meaning each visit is awesome :) and I am always taken care of.
In the end I love this place and will recommend it to everyone I meet!!!

Great Hookah, but you can't have more than 2 people on one hookah - downfall! The hummus was incredible and fresh. The lights are bright, so don't go expecting a lounge feel. It's BYOB right now until they get their license. Will go back for sure!

Then I had a group of about 50 people dining here last Saturday.
Seriously...it was fantastic! I have been in many ethnic restaurants with our group- we have events 2, 3 times per week (yes, we are hungry people) and the comments couldn't be better! I had people saying it was the best event of the year, what about that??

The food was extraordinary and it was a buffet. Hummus was silky and smooth, as the babaganoush. Falafel was a huge hit (and I am not too crazy about it but theirs is outstanding), plus the kafta... And chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce to die for. Many options for vegeterians- I heard even the cauliflower was excellent. They promised me to have atayef for dessert and they had it! Yaay! Not only that, they brought 2 for me while I was eating the entrees, to make sure I'd have it! Talk about personalized service!

I know.. I am too excited about this place- but really...I am a huge fan of food and service and they do a stellar job. The family is extremely nice, welcoming. I really think they can teach a thing or two to other businesses... This is THE place for Mediterranean food in Dallas.

Oh and I need to mention that a friend decided to have another group at the same time so we were about 70 people plus their regular customers. The organization was perfect- we discussed how to handle before the event and they managed as we agreed.

We will definitely come back soon!

A few coworkers and i decided to come here for lunch on Tuesday. We arrived a little after noon and for a while we were the only customers in the restaurant. The owner greeted us and was very friendly. We were, however, quite disapointed with the buffet. There was little to choose from and the food was mostly either cold or sitting at room temperature. The meat (i think lamb and chicken) is cooked after u arrive so they were fresh, hot and juicy. The owner overheard us talking about how im a sucker for desserts so he gave us a free slice of their famous Nescafe cake to try, which he makes fresh in-house. Boy oh boy that cake was delicious!! I would definitely go back just for the cake.

The staff makes this place 5 stars.  I have been here for lunch three times now.  Food changes so you get an array of choices.  They had these chicken wraps that were amazing, as well as great hummus and other items.  Some stuff I never herd of but that was half the fun of getting to try new dishes.  I would try the lunch buffet out so you can get a feel for the menu.

We went here for dinner on a Friday night. I'll start out with the good things first. The service was great. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The hookah was amazing and we tried the new rocks (instead of tobacco) and we loved it. You can mix the flavors to make your own. We did white peach and watermelon mint-delish! They also had a DJ playing towards the end of the night, which was cool. The atmosphere was great and the decor was very native to the cuisine.

Now to the not-so-good. We tried the grape leaves for an appetizer. The description said there was supposed to be ground beef in them but we didn't have any beef in ours at all, which was disappointing. They weren't our favorite but they weren't bad either. We ordered the Sharwamma plates, I got beef, he got chicken. His chicken was cold and dry and my beef was so tough and chewy. It looked like it had been sitting out for a while. The bread was also a bit hard and cold. I'm not one to send stuff back so I ate everything but the meat.

A manager made his rounds and noticed I didn't eat the meat and asked if everything was okay. I told him the problems with my beef and he immediately removed it and offered to replace it. I was full by this point (I ate the rice and hummus which was delicious) so he took the plate away and took the meal off our ticket. Then, a lady manager came and gave us a coupon for a buy one get one free lunch buffet. She apologized for the food and wanted the opportunity to make it up to us and show us they have good food.

All in all we appreciated the good service and the delicious hookah. We would give this place another shot, but only because of the service and the coupon.

this place opened a couple weeks ago.. they have a lunch buffet monday to friday... but we came here for dinner

cabbage rolls had some undercooked rice.. but the flavor was decent..

the lentil soup and wheat/chicken soup were really flavorful.. their chicken shawarma is awesome and it goes really well with the garlic paste (toom).. i had the falafel sandwich and it had an awesome crunch..

prices are very reasonable here.. and i'll be back to check out their lunch buffet..

btw.. they have happy hour food specials and hookah specials until 8 PM..

LOVE. THIS. PLACE. I went in on grand opening night with high expectations and I came out very, very pleased. They were serving a buffet for $9.99 that night. The food was amazing - hummus, baba ganoush, rice, fish, tabouli, desserts (NesCafe cake!!), they had it all. Food was amazing. I can't wait to go back for their happy hour to try their Falafel sandwich for $4.99!

The atmosphere was very "Arabian-Nights"-esque. Very warm, romantic feeling and even though there were a lot of people there that night, it didn't *feel* crowded. The tables weren't all smashed together and suffocating. It was pleasant and relaxing, as it should be.

The belly-dancer was AMAZING. I had seen her before at the Arabian Nights even at Collin College, and she is incredible. She performs at 9 PM & 11 PM.

I was hoping this place would thrive so it can be my new little hang-out spot to just come and chill after work. SanabelS blew me away and I will DEFINITELY be a regular here. They will fully know me! "Hey Persia - welcome back! The usual?"

Also, their hookahs are FANTASTIC! I do have one complaint. . . The coals they use are very bad. They fall apart very quickly and easily, so you have to MAKE SURE that you are constantly cleaning that part because you will be breathing in coal after a few puffs. :-(

My husband and I went here tonight for our 2nd anniversary. We have assayed almost every hookah bar/Mediterranean restaurant in the DFW area, and I heard about this new place a little closer to where we live, so we decided to try it out. Sanabels is in a nice part of Addison's restaurant row off of Beltline (it is located right behind the Texas de Brazil). When we walked in we were instantly greeted and seated almost instantly. The decor is very nice with earth-toned tile flooring, a glass waterfall and dark mood lighting and golden colors on the walls. There were a few hanging lights that were very beautiful, almost like they were made of stained glass. There were a number of booths that had couch-like seating with plush pillows, but we sat at a regular 4-seater table. There were a handful of other patrons there as well (a few couples and a family with young children) but it was not crowded and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Arabic music videos played on a few different flat screen TVs throughout the restaurant, so it wasn't awkwardly quiet in the restaurant, but it also wasn't loud or distracting. The atmosphere was inviting for having some conversation and enjoying yourself.
Our server was extremely personable and friendly and we ordered iced tea and a hookah. The hookah menu offers a number of customized flavor mixes with fun names; we ordered the "Sex Panther" which was a mix of peach, cherry and orange flavors (the menu specifically notes that it is 'not made with bits of real panther'). It was out to us within 5 minutes and was delicious. We then ordered our dinners. I had the lamb kebab sandwich with fries and my husband ordered the beef kebab with rice, hummus and a fatoush salad. The food came out fresh and hot from the grill. My husband insisted that I try the fatoush; he said it was just THAT good, and it was.
My lamb sandwich was great and the meat was tender (not tough and stringy like it is at some other places) and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. My husband's beef kebab was delicious as well, and we both cleaned our plates. After the meal we went back to our hookah and spent about an hour just relaxing and talking. He ordered some sweet Turkish coffee and a piece of the Nescafe cake for dessert, which we split. The Nescafe cake was basically a twist on tiramisu, but with that little touch of Turkish flavor (some crunchy candied pistachios were crumbled and sprinkled on top).
At the end of the meal, we had spent a little over 2 hours just having a great, relaxing time and enjoying a fantastic anniversary dinner. We can't wait to go back (we might go back this Saturday when we have tickets to a comedy show at the Improv down the street) and can't recommend this place highly enough.
