I agree with the previous post... I am not into the snubby wubby fine dining Shige's, or the Shige Express... I like to sit at the bar in the little lounge and eat my sushi and drink my Saketini in my jeans and a t. Â As for the food, the sushi is wonderful- I haven't had a roll there that I have not liked and the price is just right. Â My Saketini was delicious and made me as loopy as Sake should. Â Two of my girlfriends and I ate there and were quite the obnoxious sort and the waitstaff and sushi chefs laughed right with us. Â Try the Japenese Bagel- its my fav! Â (but they are all good)
Review Source:*Because of the expansion I'm adding this separate from Shige, since in all of the new areas the experiences can really differ. I wouldn't rate the Express section based on the Fine Dining menu or atmosphere, or the Steakhouse by the Cuisine's.*
In the lounge, you can order from both Shige's original Japanese cuisine restaurant and the fine dining area. The saketinis are very well mixed and both baristas we've met so far offer entertaining conversation. Sit at the bar, you won't be bored and the leather chairs are very comfy. They also have small (but tall), intimate tables that sit maybe 3 people comfortably.
This area also has pretty nice classy decor. In the evening I prefer to eat here than in any other section of Shige's for all of these reasons, although the fine dining area and teppanyaki steakhouse look like better options for most groups. For lunch, a more casual atmosphere, or if you like to befriend your itamae, the Cuisine area is a better choice. But no matter where you choose to eat, Shige's food is always exquisite.
