The Fireside Inn is a friendly neighborhood bar just off of State Street. It can be easily missed due to the brightly colored Shell station across the street from it. Â We decided to give it a try on a Saturday night, and we were not disappointed.
Although the fire itself no longer burns (due to insurance issues, and the fact that drunk people simply don't mix well with open flames we were told) it's still a great place to spend an evening getting hammered and playing one of their many bar games. Â They have pool, shuffle board, foozball, darts, and several pinball machines to keep you amused while drinking Pyramid Snowcap, or a $6 pitcher of Pabst if that's what you prefer.
The bartender was friendly and even waved to us as we left the bar. Â Good stuff. Â 5 stars when they stop allowing smoking in the bar.
