I really loved this NOW SMOKE FREE bar. Â
I find myself between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Boise bars. Â I like the dive feel, and I hate smoke. Â I have to admit, I'd never been here before yesterday almost entirely because it was a smoke-tastic place, but it always looked interesting. Â
A friend and I were coming back from skiing and looking to grab a beer, and just happened to go by Terrapin station at the moment it was opening around 4 PM. Â The bartender / part owner let us in, and we helped put down a few barstools for him just to be nice. Â He rewarded us with a free beer each! Â
Needless to say, I was an immediate fan. Â Â
The feel is very laid back, and judging from what the owner told us about the bands it's got quite an ecclectic range of music that comes through. Â I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the mood for a good laid back evening with a little music.
I like this little place. Â It has tons of live music at varying levels proficiency... some of it great some of it horrible... Â Someone told me the bar tenders actually bought it from the previous owner. Â They never let you sit long without a beer in your hands. Â It's a chill place with an interesting crowd. Â Overall a good vibe.
Review Source:This would totally be a 5 star if there was no-smoking allowed, because that's what I should want, but when I am here I usually have some smoke or another.....
Terrapin Station is a great final stop on my bike ride home from downtown Boise. They have a lot of live music, which I dig, but not always ALL live music. Sometimes it sounds like a garage band rehearsal, which only permits me to drink more and THEN, dance! Just kidding, but I have found myself a little bit tipsy, by myself, that girl, on the dance floor. Only because I was totally inspired by the cool independent beat that Terrapin allows! I do really like this place and every time I go, I find someone else in Boise I would like to get to know better. Tip the bartender well, I think his name is Tony.
