Neurolux

This is a great place.  Seating close to stage.  Great (and reasonably priced) beer.  Cool place.  Oh, as far as the "hipster" thing goes, it is not really a hipster-place.  All walks of life can chill out here and feel comfortable.

I'm no hipster, but apparently I like to hang out with them when I'm looking to have a good drunken time.

Heavy handed bartenders with sassy attitudes.
Great music on DJ nights.
Pleasing bands.

Back in the day, it was a pretty happenin' place to get your dance on.

I'm no hipster, but we go to this place about once a month for the Boise Poetry Slam, believe me, my wife & I are typically the oldest in the joint whenever we're there.  I like the place for what it is.  They have a good bar, a good stage, and good service.  They also have a nice patio.

This place seems to be more of a music venue / hipster bar.  It has more of an eclectic following & is Boise's hangout for the creative crowd.
