going in its a small hipster bar, which was nice and fine. HOWEVER, one of the bartenders was on something for she was incoherent and very much, how shall I put, wishy washy and slow in movement. I tried closing out but it took longer then needed until the cool looking coherent bartender came to aid. The thing that erks me about this place the most (and why Im writing this review) is this fucking bouncer at the front! some fucking middle age peice of shit in a leather jacket and beanie fucking cocksucker bekens me over to him as I was leaving with a can of beer, snatches it from my hand and throws it in the garbage. I had one drink that night and wasnt drunk, I asked him if I could at least chug it quickly inside, ( place wasnt full at this point) but he casually said no as my beer fell to the bottom of the trash can. The dude was a dick going in and proved ten fold his cocksuckery going out. I will never go back again on acount of bad experience due to service.

Nice bar.  Went this weekend and had a good time.  Inside is small but they do have outdoor seating.  Prices were reasonable and the bartenders were friendly.  Great place to get a drink before or after dinner.

If you have a large party (5 - 8) then be sure to grab one of the picnic tables outside.

I have been to Finnegan's and Silvermoon across the street several times and never noticed Single Brothers. I'm sad I didn't. I am a fan of this little (32 indoor capacity) bar. I went in on a Thursday and went back the next night. Got one of the 6 seats at the bar both times, which gave me a front row seat to view some solid mixology by some very easy on the eyes bartenders.

Small but thoughtful selection of whisk(e)ys, and some nice cocktails, including the Pimms Cup which I had and the "Parker Posey" (elderflower liqueur, cava, and lemon) my companion had. You're looking at about $8 a cocktail, so be forewarned.

I tried a bourbon I had never had before and upon realizing it was not a "sipping" bourbon, I asked the bartender to make it into a Manhattan and she did so happily.

There are some things I didn't like:

-$1 cans of Miller High Life. Draws a different sort of crowd than the $8 cocktail crowd. (To be fair, most of the people drinking these had the decency to take them into the very nice and ample outdoor seating area).

-The chipotle infused vodka mixed with grapefruit juice (I think they called this the "Hellfire" or some such). This did not do justice to either the vodka or the grapefruit juice. Both were ruined.

I am looking forward to going back to Single Brothers many times in the coming months.

Single Brothers is a bit of an anomaly. As a native Louisvillian I appreciate the depth of their burbon collection; but the bartenders don't really seem to know much about burbon. Nevertheless the bartenders go out of their way to make you happy (they pour hefty portions and are very friendly) and I think they make some of the best mixed drinks in town. Also the music is almost always great and the lighting is perfect. Like tate's, however, this is a bar to avoid on weekends as the pseudo-intellectual hipster types host their weekly desperate inarticulate blathering sessions on fridays and saturdays primarily.

A great little bar with an awesome outdoor seating area and tasty craft cocktails. The bartenders we had were extremely friendly and made helpful suggestions and recommendations. Drinks can be a bit pricey, but are made with quality liquors. The drink menu has some interesting and different concoctions on it, and with a couple of "what sort of thing do you usually like to drink" questions the bartender quickly steered me towards something that turned out to be delicious. Definitely worth a stop in for a post-dinner drink.

Nice atmosphere, with the option to sit outside! Great drinks! Had a credit card issue and it was resolved smoothly. Would recommend.

I've been to single brothers a couple times. I really like their selection of beers and drinks. The atmosphere can be a little hipster intimidating but overall its a great place for a date, its one of the more quieter bars.

Some people can be such haters.

This is a lovely little bar that serves a lot of inventive upscale cocktails. Many of the ingredients are homemade and even though they are slightly on the tail end of expensive this is not the type of place you have 6 drinks at to get wasted. You order a couple of drinks and just marinate on the deliciousness of the flavors.

I went here with a few friends and ordered one round of drinks. For the most part we each got something different and took sips of each others. I ordered the Ginger Rogers (Whiskey, Ginger Liqueur, and homemade sour) and must say it was very tasty. The one drink that stood out the most was the Hellfire (Smoked Serrano Vodka and grapefruit juice). The drink was good and interesting to say the least but I honestly do not think I could drink a whole one.

Next time I go back to Winston I will be making a trip back here.

Also, I loved the music choice of the bartenders that day (Grizzly Bear!!!)

Cool place to grab a before/after dinner cocktail...fresh, homemade mixers/juices....big outdoor area. TIP: I'm told if you order "house" booze instead of what is listed on drink menu you'll shave about 2-3 bucks off each drink..I think they're worth every penny just the way they are though!! :)

    Awesome little bar.

Good beers on tap, nice high-end booze selection. Has that "neighborhood-y" feel when you walk in.

It's small, so don't expect everyone in your large party to find a seat.

Perfect for two people in dire need of a cocktail and place to chill out.

Tiny place with a fabulous cocktail bar. Try the Gimlet!
