Let it be known - I personally love a good dive.

I went here the the other night with my in-laws...was surprised they suggested going here, as I had never known my mother-in-law to enjoy a dive. Apparently I was wrong!!

The waitress was attentive and pretty quick to realize and make sure drinks were full and everyone was happy. She could easily offer suggestions in what to eat when my father-in-law asked and kept our orders straight.

It took awhile to get our food, but I am going to say its because it was made fresh - all of it - and nothing was held in warmers. We had wings to start out with - they were HOT (temperature = fresh) and MEATY! We have plain and buffalo - I didn't try any plain but the buffalo was saucy and delicious. I followed up the wings by having a Reuben - it was larger than most places and stuffed beyond capacity with 'kraut and meat. It was definitely on my top ten for Reuben's - easy. My sister-in-law had the potato bacon soup and it looked delicious, my husband and brother in law had burgers - both looking tasty.

I plan in definitely going back here. Great food, cheap drinks and crazy good people watching.

    It is a dive bar,
    but with really good pizza.
    Lots of regulars.

Ever been to one of those places where it seems like almost everyone knows each other?  Skinner's is one of those places.

With whatever money they make, they do not put any of it into upkeep.  The floor of the bar area is dirty with missing tiles and has definitely not been replaced since this joint opened.  Gives it a certain charm, if you ask me.

The special of the day on Saturdays is tacos: $1.50 for beef and $2.25 for chicken.  Decided to order the tacos and told they were out for the day.  WTF?  It's only 4:30 in the afternoon.

They are also well known for their pizza, so we went with the Factory Special (Sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, bacon bits).  They are really not afraid to throw on the cheese when making their pizzas.  Almost too much cheese, as I could barely taste the crust.

The staff is friendly and the drinks are cheap.  $2.50 for stiff Windsor Cokes.  I would gladly go back, just not at the top of my list.

    I've gotta add a star.

I've been back here numerous times since my first trip there.   I think I'm in $6.95 (or $9.63 with a DC and tax) love with this place!

I'm beginning to love this place.  I was there last fall and they had sausage and pickle pizza on the buffet with tomato artichoke soup.  It was a perfect lunch that day!  Of course, in all my return trips I hope they are both there, but not yet.

One of these days, I'm going to try the chicken or something else!
