I think this place is now closed

A couple weeks ago my friends and I were trying to find a club to dance without driving all the way to Chicago, which we normally would except we had too much food and were about to get food coma. So we looked online and found this place. The yelp pictures were promising to begin with, so we decided to hit it up and see what the big deal is.

We got there, and the bouncer was really friendly. We went in and it was really white and pretty. I give them props for decoration. However, it was dead quiet. We ordered our drinks and some of our shots were a bit watered down. For the 2 hours we sat there, there were probably less than 20 people in the club, and most of them seem to be in their late 30s early 40s, or even 50s. It was definitely a bit awkward, like hanging out with your parents. Not to mention as much as I love 80's music, I was hoping to see more recent stuff to dance to instead.

I gave it 3 stars just because of the decor and the friendly bouncer who try to convince us as we left that normally it's crowded and not this slow. Until then, I guess we'll just have to suck it up and drive all the way to Chicago again :(

A $5 cover charge gains entrance to this club which is tucked away in a strip mall across the street from The Container Store. Oak Brook doesn't have much of a nightlife that I'm aware of, so when a friend suggested that we visit this place, I said "why not"?

The inside of the club isn't very large. There's two separate bars of approximately the same size dovetailing a medium size dance floor. As noted by one of the previous posters, everything is in white, except for one of the trees they forgot to spray paint. I had to laugh, but forgot to take a picture for my fellow Yelpers!

Adrianne Curry from the Brady Bunch was there and she is one beautiful woman even after all these years. My friends and I took pictures with her and chatted for a while. As celebs go, she was very approachable.

The crowd was a mix of mostly 30-50 professional types from surrounding area. The patrons were mostly friendly and didn't have a creepy or overly pretentious attitude that you'll find a lot downtown. There wasn't a lot of riffraff there and by my count, only a single bouncer who was very friendly.

The night started off with a mix of old-school 80's hits with the occasional latin or modern hit thrown in. Unlike one of the previous posters mentioned, we didn't get hit with too many of the Backstreet Boys tunes. We had a good time on the dance floor between drinks.

My only real complaint was with the bartender. There were a few to choose from, but the one I approached needed as a lesson or two in customer service. Granted, as a bartender myself, I am biased. Still, when I asked if there were any drink specials, she curtly replied "no" and left it at that.

When my friend asked this girl if he could have a Blue mo-&*&$%!'er, she said they didn't have the necessary mixes. A bar without Blue Curacao? Please! We ended up ordering domestic beers for $4 a pop. Worse yet, after having a few drinks, I asked for a water. She hands me a bottle of Ice Mountain and demands $4. Seriously?! If your customer needs to hydrate, and doesn't specifically ask for bottled water, don't force it on him!

To the Sky management, whomever is the blonde girl that is working behind the bar, please send her back to customer service school. Now.

I wouldn't have tipped her, but my friend was being too much of a gentleman for a woman that was hardly acting like a lady.

The place itself isn't a bad little getaway considering there isn't much else to escape to in the North West suburbs. I would have given it four stars if it weren't for the bartender above. Sky management, I hope you are listening.
