Everything was tasty! Â We had green papaya salad, soft shell crab with pepper/basil, red snapper with sweet chili sauce. Â The staff was a bit slow to respond, but we witnessed them cleaning chair legs and side of tables, which I can totally appreciate! Â I can't wait to go back there!
Review Source:SOLID thai food at very reasonable prices & w/ TONS of options
--(A8) bbq pork tender: NO LIE it's tender & flavorful & goes great w/ the spicy sauce
--chicken curry puffs: more potato than chicken!! i wish there was a curry dipping sauce, but this were nice & flaky
--drunken noodles w/ minced chicken: my kind of spicy!! very flavorful
--gai-kua: interesting noodle dish w/ eggs & squid, not bad
--coconut milk w/ jellies & jack fruit: took this one to GO & it was yummy after I added it to crushed ice.. (i had initially forgotten to add the necessary crushed ice & it was too thick).. BUT the red & green jellies were a bit too hard like they were stale
one gripe: after we ate our dinner, we each decided to take dessert to-GO but they only had ONE left of the coconut milk w/ jellies & jackfruit... BUT even though you can order this off the menu, they wouldn't make us another container for to-GO... do they not have more in the back?
CASH ONLY
NOTE: there's a wait on the weekends, but the restaurant is HUGE plus they have outdoor seating in the back, so they can accommodate (although there were always empty tables while many of us waited out front)
SriPraPhai lives up to every bit of praise heaped upon it.
I discovered belatedly that they make their curry pastes from scratch! This is practically unheard of in Thai restaurants in the U.S. I almost stole my friend's panang chicken. It was spicy with a hint of fruity sourness from the tamarind. It was not swimming in coconut milk (yes!).
My drunken noodle (ordered Thai spicy) was good, not spectacular. It wasn't even that spicy. My Austrian friend who doesn't enjoy spice ended up eating my leftovers since I was surreptitiously eating my other friend's panang curry. Granted, I was so blown away by the panang, that the drunken noodle didn't really stand a chance.
The satay and curry puffs were decent - however, I think I will just save more room for that panang curry.
Service was (gently put) spotty. We got there at 6pm and waited around 20 minutes for a table. But the line got much much longer by 7pm. I recommend going early and bringing cash (they don't accept cards). Also, get the panang curry. For serious.
I went here a couple times with friends. Â The wait time is long. Â They do not accept reservation, so we had booked a table for 8 people at 6:30 pm. Â We got a tabIe at 8pm. Â For the long wait, the food was decent. Â I had the shredded green mango salad without the meats. Â We had a vegetarian friend, so we took out the meat for her. Â It was surprisingly delicious. Â It was spicy, yet refreshing, and juicy. Â The mango are green and they added the sweetness taste in the salad. Â We had tried the green and red curry. Â Both of them were not that great. Â The pad thai was good. Â I also like the fried fish (whole red snapper) with green mango sauce. Â The fish was crunchy with a sweet flavor. Â I also like the fried calamari. Â The thai ice tea was really good. Â It was orange, but it taste like milk tea but sweeter.
Review Source:I loves me some Sri Pra Pai... I went there the first time a couple of months ago and found the food quite good, although not as spicy as I'm used to. I had the green curry chicken, but had to add chili sauce to it to get it to the level that I like. And while I don't mind food that make my nose run and my bald head sweat, I don't like it so hot that I can't taste the flavor of the food, so it's not like I'm a fire freak. My friend's papaya salad was not spicy at all, which really surprised me, because when I was in Thailand, papaya salad made me *cry*.
It's not "hard" to get a table, it's just a long wait -- and there is a reason for that. :-) As we were waiting on line before we were seated, the staff actually gave us menus so that we could order ahead of time, and once we were seated, the food came out in about 5 minutes, which was nice. Water glasses were filled often, that was nice too.
BOTTOM LINE: If you're in the neighborhood, and you even slightly like Thai food, I highly recommend Sri Pra Pai. Pretty good food at decent prices, although if you like your food spicy, be sure to ask, I think they dumb it down if they see that you're not from South or Southeast Asia.
Don't get there too late though, it closes at 9:30 PM every night, although I have no idea why... I got here at 9:25 and the place is still packed!
This place is relatively inexpensive, lively, BYOB, and serves great food. Â There's some tangy spice they use that smells up the whole place and permeates many of the dishes. Â I wonder if it's their signature flavoring as I eat a lot of Thai food and have never encountered it before. Â The smell/taste kinda grosses me out but perhaps it's a personal thing as this place is so enormously popular. Â
There's almost always a wait but the service is quick, efficient, and thorough. Â I've enjoyed every meal I have here and I will certainly be back again.
I love going to a restaurant and trying something different that I don't usually have on a daily basis. SriPraPhai Thai was a great experience, although I'm still working the pronunciation. I'm pretty sure I sound like I'm talking gibberish.
Any who, I came here for a friend's birthday dinner on a Saturday around 6pm. We thought there'd be a long wait but we were seated instantaneously. I must say there was a heat wave going on this particular day, therefore people were either at a beach somewhere or opted to stay in. I hear it can get crowded on a "normal" day.
The menu is extensive and includes photos of many dishes which is a plus for those of us who are not very familiar with Thai food. We literally took over 20 minutes deciding what to get. Finally, as appetizers we had the Curry Chicken Puffs. I would compare these to SamosasEmpanadas. They were soooooo very good and tasty. It was a mixture of curry chicken and potatoes wrapped in fried doughy goodness. The type of food that's BAD for your health but your brain is like "who cares? dig in!".
As my entree, I chose the "Drunken Noodles w/ beef ". I thought my dish was delectable and would order it again. I chose white rice, but they also have 'coconut rice' or 'sticky rice' which was interesting! One of the guest in our party ordered the 'Panang Curry Beef' Â and it ended up being a lot spicier than he expected so beware with the curry dishes if you don't have a high tolerance.
Great Food. Casual Atmosphere. Outdoor Seating. Big Space. Friendly Servers. Local Flavor.
FYI, wine is cheap here! Can't go wrong. I recommend this place :)
If you get medium spicy, get ready to sweat because this place is no joke when it comes to spiciness. The space is pretty good for groups, which is a big plus. It's cash only as well, so leave the plastic at home.
The Thai red curry is probably one of the best I've had and it's not because of the curry. It's because of the meat. I don't know why, but I would say that nearly all of the Thai places that I've been to in the city overcook their meat. But not here. The beef is so tender and juicy, so that's a huge plus.
The menu here is also 20+ pages, so you probably won't run out of things to try after a lot of visits. And you know those times when you order food and then what comes out of the kitchen never looks like the picture? That doesn't happen here. The food looks EXACTLY like in the photo in the menu. It's a little weird when that actually happens, but it's a good thing so don't worry.
Overall, this is a great place and you won't be disappointed.
What a delicious meal!
We only ate from the vegetarian menu-- which is of course, a good move right off the bat when eating any meal  :)
A few of the dishes we had were really outstanding.
We started with the Shredded Green Mango Salad that was a refreshing and unique dish with an interesting mix of textures from shredded mango to mushroom and more. Â I could have made that my whole meal, but there was more fun in the cards.
We also had the Mock Duck Salad. Another really great mix of parts to make a surprisingly satisfying whole. The mock duck itself was really flavorful and had a great texture. It was even better mixed with veggies, nuts, chili, (I think) pineapple chunks and a yummy dressing. So good...
The Panang Curry was not like most Thai curry dishes that I've had. Instead of veggies and tofu in a milky sauce & served in a bowl, it was a thicker, really tasty red curry sauce. Another surprisingly great taste sensation.
All of the above was so good... but it was even better because we had the Coconut Rice as a base. (They do have brown rice, but after reading other reviews, I splurged on this coconut yumminess!)
And of course, the coconut juice was the ultimate refreshment on a 90 degree day.
So yeah, guess you could say that I enjoyed this meal  :)
As for the atmosphere, the place was packed on a Sunday evening, and so it got pretty loud at times. That was fine with me though, as the company and food were just right!
PS: The Pad Thai was fine, but in the company of these other awesome dishes, it was just a nice aside.
First off, the thai iced tea was amazing. that alone will make me come back. Well, maybe that and the pad thai.
My boyfriend got the pad thai and it was really, really good. Better than sentosa. I got the drunken noodles with chicken and I didn't really like it. Flavor was good, but it just wasn't my taste. The papaya salad, like everyone said, was good too. I really liked that.
I have never been to Thailand but if this is how the food is there I can't wait to get on a plane. In one word... freakingamazinglyfingerlickingdelicious. It's a very busy place and you can easily be forgotten during busy hours. The first time I went I had the drunken noodles, the last time had the red curry which was amazing, basically anything you get will be a good choice specially if you can handle a little spicy food. You can tell a lot of people from different boroughs come here, there was a flock of hipsters too and even some tourists. Its worth the drive, you will not be disappointed.
Review Source:Loved the red curry here! It was tasty and had just the right amount of spiciness. The papaya salad was delicious and definitely spicy but I wouldn't have ordered it any other way. The restaurant is definitely no-frills, they are cash only and some nights they get super busy. However, the restaurant is big and they get their customers in and out quickly.
Review Source:SRIPRAPHAI Thai Restaurant in Woodside
Only 2 tables where occupied when 8 of us entered the Patio/Garden.
The Flowers turned out to be the best part of the visit.
There was nobody to help us putting some tables together, so we did it ourselves.
We ordered wine which took forever.
We also set our own table, since the waitress dumped 8 plates plus cutlery on the table.
Since we ordered different appetizers to share, no plates where offered.
My Panang Curry with Pork looked more like a stew in brown sauce.
After 7 of us had almost finished the main course the 8th had still not come.
The waiter had obviously forgotten to bring it and when he served it, it was cold.
We asked for some containers to take the leftovers home and the waitress practically threw them on the table
All in all: the service was way below standard, actually rude and arrogant.
We have eaten better food in several other Thai Restaurants in the Long Island/Astoria/Woodside Area.
It will not be a repeat visit.

This was my first venture into Queens. Let me get the bad stuff out of the way first so I can talk about how great this place is. As an unashamed child-hater, the environment and ambiance here kind of killed my vibe. The young girl near me literally started crying because she wanted a maraschino cherry in her Shirley Temple and she didn't see the one sitting at the bottom of her glass. Screaming. Whining. Running around. Oh, and to top it off, one of those little heathens spilled her Shirley Temple all over my Coach bag! Now I know why people don't go to Queens.
That aside, this restaurant cooks up some ballin' Thai food. They have a separate menu in the back for vegetarians, which is killer. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice, and my request for brown rice was met with an easy nod of approval--SCORE! My friend and I also split the black sticky rice with custard for dessert (only $1.50 for each of us). It was incredibly delicious and not sickeningly sweet. It reminded us of rice pudding.
Altogether, with our Blue Moons, we paid just $16 per person. That's unheard of. The downside is that this place is confusingly cash only. Luckily, there's an ATM in the restaurant and it only charges a $1 fee. Fair enough.
Food was five stars. Experience was two stars. Price was five stars. Service was four stars. Altogether, I went with four stars.
My go to pad thai wasn't the best I've tasted, but everything else was pretty good.
Stand outs were the papaya salad, the duck, and the fried rice with crab which was surprisingly very tasty.
It was really busy and the service wasn't that great but the atmosphere was nice enough so you didn't feel cramped and you didn't feel rushed. It did take a while to get the food. But there were 6 of us so maybe it takes longer when there are more than 4 people ordering.
Otherwise, that's really all I could say. Worth to try at least once =)
Been coming here for years and food always really good. Came for dinner with my wife who is Thai and a friend. The service was terrible bordering on abysmal! Food not as good as usual and staff have a defensive bad attitude and complete lack of care.
Appetizers came out one by one over a period of 30 minutes for 3 dishes. Then another 20 minutes and my main course came then 10 minutes later my wife's main course arrived! My friend still waiting so I politley ask where his food is. The answer was we are busy, but I mention that 3 tables around us who all sat down later than us all have their food. They don't care a damn, in fact they are smug about it.
They are super quick to come with the check! I am completely aggravated at shelling out good money for NO SERVICE!
The best Thai in NYC. No frills dining. No crazy decorations, koi ponds or anything of the sort to distract from the main reason you should visit any dining establishment - the food.
I came here earlier in the week for the first time in maybe four years and my eyes were def bigger than my stomach. My boyfriend and I wanted everything on the menu and decided on 2 appetizers, one curry and one noodle dish. We were full from the appetizers alone because they're each the size of a full entree! Come with a big group so you can order lots and have a bit of everything!
The menu is pages and pages long and you can't go wrong with anything. But every time I'm here, I get the soft shell crab that comes with a side of shredded mango salad. I also love the green curry, although they're a bit too generous with the bamboo shoots resulting in more bamboo than any other ingredient! But still, delicious and spicy. My nose was running the entire meal, just the way I like it! I've even ordered pad thai here on occasion and it is infinitely better than the greasy, tasteless noodles served at Americanized Thai joints in Manhattan.
This has to be one of the best Thai restaurants in New York City. You'll find a wide variety of items here than most places, so skip the Pad Thai. I highly recommend getting the basil pork belly dish. The fried soft-shell crabs were amazing too. Best time to come here is during lunch hours, as they get crazy busy. Space is nice and casual, with a beautiful garden seating area in the back.
Review Source:The food at this amazing and iconic Thai restaurant deserves a 5 star, but I just can't give it due the mediocre service. In short, the people working at this restaurant need as much personality as the food. The greetings are mediocre, the service is spotty, and I found myself having to ask for assistance. On my first visit around 5:30 pm, my server was talking and texting on her personal mobile phone in the middle of the dining room while my water glass was waiting to be filled. No one seems particularly happy.
But will I go back? Absolutely. The food is among the two best Thai experiences I hae had in the U.S., and I live in the Thai section of Manhattan. My other favorite is Lotus Thai in Las Vegas. There is hardly anything that I don't want to try on this menu, but my favorites so far are the mango seafood salad (better than the popular but fried and bland watercress salad), the massaman curry, the fried dumplings (delicate crusts and savory filling), and the tom yam soup. The panang curry was nice as well, but not exceeding other Thai restaurants in NYC. Many visitors like the watercress salad, but it is not a "salad." It is a plate of fried battered watercress with a small portion of seafood salad in peanut sauce on the side. I much preferred the more healthy and tasty mango salad.
I have yet to try the drunken noodles or soft shell crabs, so that's next on the list.
The patio on a nice day is lovely and much preferable to the non-atmospheric indoors.
I don't like writing negative reviews, but I'm going to anyway.  Food was pretty good, but you would think this place could have figured out how to give reasonably good service after being open for so many years! I know this place has never been know for good service and you don't  eat there for the service, but bringing out food  in a timely manner and hot isn't too much to ask.  When the tables around you already have their food and they sat 15 minutes after you, it is a little irritating.  I asked 2 times about the food and was given a B.S. answer about why it came out so late.  Hard to understand how others got their food when a stove was supposedly broken.
Also, you shouldn't have to ask for the check 3 times! Â I don't like leaving a lousy tip, but how else do you get a restaurant to improve?
I like their food but won't be patronizing them again.  Plenty of other  Thai places in Queens that have just as good food if not better and know how to give good service.  Try Ayada Thai instead
It'd been a while. I'm impressed by this place's quality maintenance. Pretty full at 3 PM on a Saturday when your restaurant is the size of Mammoth Cave National Park often means you stop trying, or at least start cutting corners.
Not here, I guess. Still not the best, but resolutely pretty good if you order well (here's a hint to the blind dater next to me, by the way: if you're bringing a more attractive woman to this place and wooing her with green curry, probably don't eat so much of it so quickly that you loudly "feel like [you] could throw up").
Anyway, soft shell crab. It's that time of year, y'all.
I've been here a number of times. I would say upwards of ten times. I would give it 5 stars if it were just for the deserts. As a vegan, the deserts in this place are insane. So so so so good. I can't even. Just, I'm drooling on my laptop thinking about them.
But the entrees, they're always just okay for me. I get the pad thai, it's pretty solid, but I'm honestly never very excited to order an entree there. WIll I eat it? Yes. But I'm just not drooling at the mouth.
However, this place is somewhere that I regularly take people to for the dessert. I go out of my way to get dessert here. So, that's definitely saying something.
This is the original restaurant and I think the food is better here than in Williston Park. Even though I live closer to the Williston Park location I am willing to travel out to Woodside.
Dishes I have tried:
Fried soft shell crab (app)
Chicken curry puff (app)
Vegetarian curry puff (app)
Pad Thai (entree)
Drunken Noodles (entree)
Crab fried rice (entree)
Salted Fish Fried rice (entree)
I would recommend trying anyone of these items. Very delicious.
How can 1071 reviews with a 4 star overall rating be so WRONG?
On Mother's Day for F--K SAKES!
Busy is expected, SH-T service is NOT.
We were #20 on the wait ticket, #13 was on the dashboard. Â Remarkably it was only a 10 minute wait. Â
Good stuff. Â
Or so I thought...
Here is where service went into the crapper.
Mom ordered the Papaya Salad for appetizer and for entree the Green Curry w/ Tofu and Vegetable.
Yes, she's a vegetarian. Â
Which is why I research REALLY well for an excellent veggie spot. Â
Or so I thought...
I ordered the Thai Iced Tea w/ bubbles and Massaman Curry.
Mom's appetizer came rather quickly as did my Thai Iced Tea.
They ran out of bubbles so I had to settle with just the tea which was good as expected.
Mom's Papaya Salad was very good but very spicy. Â
Good thing she's okay with runny noses.
20 minutes later...
I'm still sipping on my Thai Iced Tea...
No waiter or waitress came to check if all the food has arrived.
Strange, but since they were busy I obviously let that slide.
ANOTHER 20 minutes later...
Still sipping on Thai Iced Tea...
Mom had to ask some waitress whether the food order was even placed.
IT WAS NOT.
Amused?
I WAS NOT.
Mom was already irked at this point and the short/chubby waitress who looked like she would have fit right in with the Oompa Loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory not only had the audacity to
A) Rebute and say that the restaurant was very busy. Â I'm not wearing shades, I can see that yet EVERYONE ELSE WHO SAT LATER THAN US are being delivered their entrees BEFORE US. Â Maybe she was wearing shades...
B) Tell my Mom to relax because it's Mother's Day. Â DUH dumb shyt, that is why I'm even more annoyed at your sh-tty service.
C) Go and talk sh-t right in front of me but with my Mom's back facing her. Â Even peeking at our direction so that there was no mistake of who she was talking about.
I should have called for the manager right there and then but honestly they will just get a slap on the wrist and maybe I'll get a free dessert?
YOU CAN KEEP THAT watery sh-t.
After all of that another waitress placed the order in and had the food came even after all the hassle and monkey wrenches, it would have been fine.
IT DID NOT.
It must have been another 10 minutes
Mom's Green Curry came late and her noodles that came with it was nasty. Â Store bought might have been a better alternative. Â NO JOKE. Â NOT AT ALL.
She did say that the sauce was amazing.
ANOTHER 20 minutes...
I'm crunching on ice cubes now as I have already eaten my plastic straw out of hunger.
At this point Mom has finished her meal and fed up with the service that she had to get up to ask for the check as I'm just stunned, just completely in AWE at how poor the service was.
Is this how Kevin Bacon felt in Hollow Man?
STRAIGHT INVISIBLE I TELL YA.
MIND YOU, I want to reiterate that other people who sat down WAYYYY LATER than us got their appetizer AND their entrees before we did or at least Mom did. Â
Particular this group of 8 including a few toddlers. Â Their Mom was breastfeeding right in front of everyone and STILL had their food came.
I've never felt more jealous of that baby with the breast in his mouth. Â Because even HE WAS EATING.
I never received my food.
Oh wait yes I did. Â WHEN THE CHECK CAME and WHEN WE WAS ALREADY PAYING/ABOUT TO LEAVE.
Another 20 minutes...
I'm down 5 lbs on the subway heading home.
Sorry Mom for ruining your Mother's Day.
P.S. - Today they really deserved a good -18 stars.
Let's be real.
Any restaurant can be on their A game when they are not busy. Â
The best of them are forged when they are PUSHED TO THE LIMIT.
YOU FAILED MISERABLY SRI (any relations to Siri on the IPHONE? I wonder...EPIC)
...BUT their food really did smelled delicious and presented as such, well to other people who had the pleasure of actually eating it. Â I would have thought that on my off day I didn't have to work so hard to imagine things like...
Imagined how that would have tasted...
Imagined if my food ever arrives...
Imagined if I have to put up a smoke signal to get some service...
As tonight proves, all 3 are necessary components to expect when coming here.
I don't think my taste buds are refined enough to distinguish between 4-star Thai food and 5-star Thai food. After a certain point, all Thai food tastes pretty awesome to me... but apparently, this place is the one of the best Thai restaurants in NYC and I don't mind backing that up. Feel free to quote me on that.
Everything we ordered was delicious - the papaya salad, tom kha gai, pad kee mao, red curry with chicken, Thai iced tea, etc. They also have a fridge full of desserts that you can purchase to-go at the end of your meal. It's tapioca and coconut milk heaven.
Lunch at 1pm on a Sunday was bustling, but not over-crowded. Luckily, our party of four was able to get a table right away. A bit put off by the "B" health rating in the window, I calmed myself by the fact that one guy in our party (who spent 2 months in Thailand) had eaten here before and highly recommended it, and my other friend's friend claimed this was "the best Thai food in the city."
My expectations were high--and amazingly, SriPraPhai totally delivered. I left the ordering mainly to my friend who had spent the 2 months in Thailand and now knew the names of some dishes in Thai.
We had the papaya salad (which came with some kind of crabmeat - chopped into small pieces but with shell), which was super spicy but delicious. I think this dish may have been customized to be spicier for us, or maybe customized with the crabmeat -- based on something my friend asked for when he ordered it. I recommend eating it with sticky rice (which we ordered separately), because the rice helps to dilute some of the spiciness.
We also had the Raw Shrimp appetizer, which was similar to a ceviche except with whole shrimp instead of chopped pieces. It came flavored with raw garlic, chili, and lime. Delicious and with a slight kick to it from the chili, I could have drizzled the sauce over anything and been satisfied.
The whole red snapper--fried, with a sweet chili sauce on top--was a perfect juxtaposition of crunchy (the skin) and tender (the white meat of the fish). The sweet chili sauce was delicious and only mildly spicy. At $23, it was one of the most expensive things on the menu-- I was a bit skeptical of the price, but I do think it was worth it.
The green curry beef came with bamboo shoots, a few slices of red bell pepper, and what I believe was Japanese eggplant. Â For someone who's never had green curry before, I really enjoyed this dish and it was not spicy at all, but rather coconut-milky and sweet. (I've only had red curry, panang curry, and massaman curry in the past). We ate this with a side order of coconut rice. At the end, I was basically just eating the curry sauce with rice, it was so good!
We also ordered the Chinese watercress so we had a vegetable on the side. It was simple, but delicious. Apparently this vegetable is called "morning glory" in Thai.
Finally, we ordered a couple desserts to share, even though we were all stuffed. The sticky black rice with taro was my favorite - it looked a little funny, but it tasted great. Imagine a ball of sticky black rice surrounded by white coconut milk, in a bowl - the taro pieces were embedded within the ball of rice. It was sweet, but not overwhelmingly so--and there was also a salty component. We also got the pumpkin custard, which came as 4 cubes and was sort of similar to flan. I don't have a sweet tooth and don't care too much for desserts, but really enjoyed both of these.
In terms of service, it was brisk yet friendly. Our water glasses were always full (important when eating spicy food!) and our waitress was especially nice to us probably because of the guy in our group who had been to Thailand and chatted with her about the food. I would definitely come back--this was a great place to explore more traditional Thai food beyond your standard curries and pad thai! Plus, the menus have small thumbnail photos next to each item, which is helpful when you're trying new things.
This is a great Thai restaurant and I am a huge fan. I came with a group of friends, including 1 native Thai. We were here to celebrate Thai new year so we got more dishes than we can ever eat. I have to say everything we ordered were delicious.
I really like their pork Laab. It is sour, spicy and refreshing. Pad see Eww is spicy and the noodles are just right. Thai Ice Tea is of course as sweet and creamy as it can be. Papaya salad is light and refreshing. The deep fried soft shelf crab is very good. We also tried their whole fish deep fried. It is so big that it feeds the table of 10+.
I heard the wait could be painful at times here so be ready if you are here during the weekends or popular nights.
There's really no reason for me to even review this place. My raving review won't make a difference, given that they have so many raving reviews.
AWESOME! Let's start with drinks. I've been to Thai restaurants before that can serve up a mean Thai Ice Tea, but leave much to the imagination when it comes to adult beverages. Not here! Mixed drinks are great. Now on to the food.
OMG, TROUT LARB!? Are you kidding me!? The stuff is amazing. So is the chicken larb. Â If you like larb and you like fish, you simply must try the trout (although if you don't like fish, it actually isn't that fishy). The Tom Yum is just about the best I've ever had. It maintains the classic sour and spicy flavors while managing to have a certain sweetness to it that makes it ever so delectable.
Masaman curry- work it. I'm not a huge curry or rice/potato person, but this sweet and hearty flavor had me sopping it up with rice, and mashing the tender potatoes in with my chicken bites.
They have a sea bass that you can get steamed that is to die for. It's perfectly cooked and seasoned. Love it. if you're taking the lighter route this may be a dish for you.
I'm not huge on Asian desserts of any kind, but they have a pumpkin custard that is delicious. It comes with 5 little bite sized cubes and is the consistency of a harder flan. It's sweet and fluffy, and doesn't have any of those red bean pastes that so many of their desserts have (if you like those types of sweets I'm sure you won't be disappointed as they have a huge selection of them).
Take out some cash and go get your Thai on already. This place rules!!!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in New York City. Its the kind of place where you (intentionally) order more than you can eat so you can take some back home and  enjoy the leftovers in your next meal. Seriously, which other restaurant has a picture of all the dishes that they serve on the menu!
I can't say enough about how good each and every dish I've ever tried here is. The dumplings are delicious. They actually have a thin layer of dough around them so you can focus on all the goodness inside. I also like the Fish Cakes and Shrimp Cakes. I wasn't a fan of Thai Iced Tea until I tried it here. Try the one with the Black Pearls, you will not regret it.
I've tried all their curries and each one tastes distinctly different, unlike a lot of other Thai places in the city. Their coconut rice is to die for and I find that its mild sweetness goes really well with the spice of the curry.
Alas I've never got to try any of their desserts because I've stuffed myself silly by the time the entrees are done.
Came here last week with my sister. Â I remember coming here one time before, but I didn't remember it being amazing, so I braced myself, but kept an open mind.
We got here right before the dinner rush, so there were still many tables open. Â We were seated promptly right in front of the bar, next to a Chinese couple and some empty two person tables next to us.
We ordered our food. 1 small tom yum soup with chicken, 1 app - fried something bags, drunken noodles and double fried crispy pork belly.
We asked for extra spicy, everything came out extra sweet...
Anyways, the drunken noodles and crispy pork came out and went to the table right next to use. Â The gentleman there gave a weird look and looked at my sister and I and we said to the waiter I think that is ours... Â Nevertheless he put down the two dishes. Â They then took back the town dishes, walked around with them then walked back to the counter with them and had a lengthy discussion. Â I say to my sister, "if they bring that back and set it on our table I am not going to tip them." Â Needless to say they did not get a tip. Â Our next dish came out, they walked it to the other room, then walked it back over and placed it on the table next to us again, and then placed it on my table... Â Soooo yeah...
No asking us if we were doing okay, got all our dishes, and well no apology for messing up our orders...
The food itself wasn't terrible, it was just well room temperature when we received it, guess that allows us to eat it quicker...
The crazy thing is that a couple was seated to my right, an ambiguous looking man either southeast Asian or Latin and a Latina. Â The waitress walked over and asked if the size of the soup was good, and if it was spicy enough. Â As this happened I darted my eyes between them and my sister. Â My eyes were wide open, as open as they can be for an Asian before they pop-out of your head. Â Afterwards I had to ask them, "what did you do to get service?"
The food itself is average, but you will not get anything spicy... Â I think if someone asks for "EXTRA SPICY" and says it 5 times, they probably want everything to be somewhat spicy...
You may ask why I didn't send anything back, but this doesn't seem like the place/people you would send food back at...
