We also saw the restaurant on the "Chicago's Best" tv show. Â The people there were real sweethearts and the food was fresh (guac made to order, the pineapple al pastor is fun), Â if pretty bland and not a special bargain. Â if you're in the area with a taste for tacos, it's ok, but sorry, I don't think we will be traveling all the way across the city again for this very standard fare.
Review Source:Went with my friend who saw a Chicago tv show about this place having the best al pastor taco. Â Both were disappointed but as unexpected. Â The food was mediocre. Â Tacos ($2 ea) didn't have enough filling and flavor bland (and I'm not even into spicy!). Â I've also had better horchata elsewhere. Â Our taco dinner (3 tacos for $9.95) was also missing the salad (so it's really better to get items a la carte). Â I saw them heat up our side of rice in their microwave. Â We didn't see the big skewer of meat spinning at the grill. Â This place is small with maybe 5 small tables in all with very cute tabletops and wall decor. Â Definitely would not go out of my way for this. Â So far, there hasn't been an al pastor taco that is better than Atotonilco #2.
