Tallula Restaurant

I had a wonderful meal here last night with deliciously fresh food. I highly recommend it if you're looking to switch things up with your restaurant routine.

I've been here for brunch a few times. What impresses me most is the ever-changing menu and specials, which forces you to break away from your 'usual.' Also, the service is spectacular.

During my most recent visit last Sunday, my friend orders an omelet with egg whites. Because the server wrote 'egg white only' on the ticket, the cheese was accidentally omitted. The server profusely apologized, removed the omelet from the bill, and brought us one to go, since my friend had already eaten her other food and didn't want to hold up the group. That is really an above and beyond accommodation to something so minor. I got the biscuits with chicken pot pie sauce and poached eggs on top. Sounds crazy, but I ate every bite. My other friend got the shrimp and grits, which she really enjoyed, but she was annoyed that she had to remove the shrimp tails - kind of messy in a saucy grit-filled bowl.

Also, the amuse bouche homemade donuts are a nice touch. In a world filled with restaurants that charge for an extra side of ranch or a drink re-fill, I really love any little add-ons that make you feel valued and not like the place is trying to nickel and dime you.

Overall, great service and creative menu offerings. Give it a try!
