Adorable space. However, the loud music is a turn-off for me. I'm not quite sure what cretin thought that it was a good idea to blast music at a restaurant in south Florida, but he/she should be shot, twice.
I must have been luckier than the other customers, as my service was excellent all three times that I've been there.
We ate there after the Steve Miller show on Sunday, the 17th and returned this past Monday. I can't believe that I ventured to Broward twice in eight days.
The potstickers with the wild mushroom sauce were absolutely delicious. I could drink the sauce. The calamari salad was very good, as was the shrimp tempura rolls. Jalapeño rolls were a tiny bit disappointing since I expected them to be spicier, but they were still good. Crispy vegetable spring rolls were yummy. Sauvignon Blanc was excellent.
Thankfully, I have never paid for a meal here because it's pricey. Average price for an appetizer is $18. I have an aversion to paying more than $100 for a meal for two. I just don't think any food is worth $180. I'd rather buy a pair of shoes on sale at Nordstrom and eat at a hole in the wall.
I would give this place 4+ stars if the prices were more reasonable. I will return, but only on someone else's dime. I'm keeping my dimes for myself.
Loved my experience at Tatu! The ambiance is modern and chic with not too loud dance music and martial arts movies projected on the walls. The ceviche was excellent. We had a misunderstanding with the waiter concerning our order and he and the manager resolved it pleasantly with no problem. I'll definitely be back.
Review Source:I will make it simple...Average sushi, not the best, pricey for the quality you get. Drinks are good. Service looks confused. Not good for big groups as they cannot separate the check in too many parts. Long wait if no reservation, still a wait if a reservation. You pay for location, not worth the parking and walk just for ordinary food and service.
