Looonnngggg time patron of ATB, finally writing a review!

A Terrible Beauty used to be above and beyond awesome, like 2-3 years ago it would have been a 5-star review no doubt. This was a place that I'd take people for dinner/drinks and feel like the queen of england because I made such an awesome recommendation. It's still good, don't get me wrong, but over the past couple of years it's just become less impressive and a bit pricier.

I can't eat gluten so my go-to dinner order is the Caesar, plus salmon, minus croutons/bread, with an extra Dubliner crisp. It's a really good salad, and filling - romaine hearts, a garlicky dressing, and the Dubliner cheese crisps are tttaasstttyyyy. Not a whole lot of GF options on the menu, but they're happy to make anything without a bun and pay attention to cross contamination. I also love that they have Magners and another cider on tap.

Service is always super friendly, and I don't mind waiting for food as long as drinks are attended to. Atmosphere is cozy, personal, comfortable...people come here to just hang out, all ages, all scenes. Love the live music and the two-level seating. TVs are around for sporting event viewage, but not intrusive if you don't care about sporting events.

What I'm getting as is that this place gives a +1 to the "Renton vs. Ghetto" initiative currently underway.

Can't get enough of this place! I have only been here 3 times but always good food, good service and prices that are deserving of the experience. I have recommended to several people and will go again. Im new to WA state and was so happy to find this wonderful taste of Ireland.

Quintessential Irish bar with great atmosphere and liveliness, especially on a Friday night. You wouldn't know if you were in Renton or Boston from inside the bar. Great character. The food is average, the type you'd like while drinking. Burgers, wings, etc... It's all a little greasy. Which is probably why we haven't been back too often. In summary, perfect for a Friday night/afternoon beer or three... or Irish whiskey but nothing special about the food. They have live music some nights and depending on the genre, could make or break your night. Between here, World of Beer and Berliner compose my top 3 places to drink in Renton with Beauty taking the field of character.

Great place, though not for the fragile. If you want super fast service go to McDonalds for your meal. This place is my home away from home. The food is fabulous and the beer selection is the best in town. So what if the service is kinda slow sometimes. If it's is busy it is going to be that way. I am willing to wait for good food. Besides the atmosphere is so chill that I don't feel like I am waiting, just spending an relaxing evening at home.

We have been coming here ever since they first opened. We have been on weekends, week days, week nights, holidays....even every Christmas {1 free beer if you come in in your PJ's} We do trivia on Thursdays and come for the live music on many occasions. We have had Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner. Anything you could do here we have done and have never been disappointed.

Since they opened the other locations you don't get as personal service as you used to { I could walk in and not even have to order, just had my stuff brought to me} but I am happy Jenna & Paddy are expanding. They are great people and this place deserves the success it has been having over the years. You can't go wrong going here any time for any reason. Just beware parking can be hard to find during peak hours. Come early

Love the burgers and the whole staff makes this a great place to come and hangout. I am huge on the staff so that is what helps. I have also had the mac and cheese and it has changed a little over the years but found out that they got a new cook. But don't let that detour you as I am very picky on the Mac and Cheese. The ruben and patty melt are also a great option. Sadly my favorite waitress was transferred to the West Seattle restaurant and i am very tempted to follow.

I should mention that I go just about every Thursday for Triva night and the person hosting it makes the evening a lot of fun.

The beer selection is good and does change every so often. The bartenders are very capable at making a mixed drink and if they do not know it they will look it up and do a wonderful job.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Really great food and prices. They have a great selection of eggs benedict like bangers, irish smoked salmon, corned beef, rashers etc but my husband and I went a different route. He ordered the NY Steak and eggs and I got the Chicken Countryside Fritter (their version of chicken fried steak). For drinks, he got a pint of Hale's Irish Cream beer and I got a glass of bloody mary. Both really good drinks. The food came out fast. It looked fresh too! Everything tasted delicious. My chicken was nice and juicy and the gravy is made really well. The raspberry jam that they provide with the Irish Soda bread is just icing on the cake. Our server was awesome and checked back on us frequently. He also answered any questions we had on the menu since it was actually our first time there. The restaurant manager also made rounds asking how we were doing and that extra personal touch made for a more positive experience.
We will come back again and bring friends.

The only thing I would say that's not so good is we were seated upstairs and it was a little too dark. It was Sunday at noon and I had to tilt my menu towards the light to read it. Otherwise that ambiance would be perfect for a night out but mid-day we could have used just a little more light. It's a petty observation but a suggestion nonetheless.

Looks like they have a full bar. Could be a great spot for evening drinks.

Looking for a good pub in Renton? This is it. Great beer selection, amazing Banger burger! They have live music as well, however, Wed night late is karaoke, and not the good kind.

There is not a trio of words that intrigued me lately used as a name of a restaurant [well, there is: the new american restaurant in Seattle: HOW TO COOK A WOLF, review to come; there's another that i did not get to try: THE WALRUS & THE CARPENTER-- i see a pattern-- is there something in the NW waters?] when yelp suggested this bar/pub close to my SEATAC hotel on the last evening of my NW trek.

Alas, had i googled this phrase http://www.online-litera… I would have been informed that it's from a verse -- a wordy, overly lyrical, florid ode to the heroes of Irish Nationalism-- penned ages ago by the Irish poet Yeats whose work I don't normally dish out in soliloquies. But at this time at the cusp of happy hour and dinner, I guess I was susceptible to restaurant names sounding stridently poetic.

But the tall glasses of the local crafted beer were good and cold. so were the fish-n-chips and burger served by a friendly and efficient bartender.

30 beers on tap, from imports to local craft beers, and even the beer flavored water for those that don't know the difference! Great service, great music, great atmosphere, and great food. I've been here twice now, once for dinner ( awesome fish n' chips), and once for breakfast (yum). I'll be back.

There are a lot of Irish pubs that just order the starter kit from the back of the Irish comic books and they're off and running. Throw in some Guinness on nitro, maybe some Harp and Beamish, some Jameson, and poof! They're transporting you back to a bit of what somebody thinks Ireland might be like. A Terrible Beauty seems a little more sincere about what they're doing, though, and that makes them pretty cool.

This is my first time in any of the ATBs, so I can't compare and contrast. But this one is a fun place to visit for sure. Not a whole lot of parking in the lot, but plenty on street. Big patio out front, perfect for whatever nice days we might get. Lots of room inside. They're going for that dark-wood grotto effect, lots of stained wood everywhere, from the carpentry to the antiques. There are a fair few windows, but mostly you feel as though you've escaped into a private little getaway inside.

There are tons of partial dining rooms and gathering spaces set apart from each other by half walls, staircases, rows of posts, and so on. If you're with a group, you can feel like you have your own room without feeling like you have to jump through any hoops to make it happen. There's an upstairs with lots more booths, stairs at both ends, and a foosball table. For some reason this seems like a great touch--there's a little space with nothing but a foosball table at the very end up the balcony. Keeps you from getting bumped while you play. The bathrooms are upstairs, which kinda seemed problematic, but I actually happened to see a guy using a chair having lunch, so there must be an accessible bathroom too.

The staff are really nice; friendly and attentive without overdoing it or seeming insincere. They're on point without being in your face. They make the girls wear knee socks and matching short pleated plaid skirts, which is pretty corny, but they seemed to be dealing with it OK.

I didn't try any of the drinks, but they had a nice mix of local and Irish beers pouring, and seemed to have a solid basic lineup of liquor as well. The coffee was delicious, and they're very generous with endless refills. The brunch is great--greaseless corned beef hash that's bursting with flavor, solid eggs, and a delicious sweet scone for $10. Hard to beat what this place has to offer. Definitely going to check them all out.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Renton. I've only been here several times for lunch... though I think this place is made for HH and/or live music. Its an Irish pub, so you get delicious Irish food. The Gaelic, Emigrant or his brother, Reuben sandwiches, they're all good. Death by Mac n cheese + bacon is almost a heart attack but so good. I'm always full after eating here, so good quantity and sometimes I have leftovers:) I like the food, atmosphere, except not too many folks at lunch. Unfortunately service can be slow, and that's the only downfall for me.

The bathroom is located on the second level. They have a parking area with plenty of street parking too.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE! Irish Nachos are so good! Staff is friendly, too. Usually pretty packed, so if you can't find a spot in the parking lot, you'll have to park on the street. Don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit for your food. No, you won't die of starvation...

It PROBABLY doesn't deserve a 4 star, but 3 star was a bit low.

We've only been here the one time and it was fine, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't great.

EVERYONE raved about the Mac and Cheese and said we HAD to try it.

It's EXTREMELY hard to impress me with mac and cheese because my boyfriend is an aspiring chef and makes a homemade 5-cheese macaroni.

Again, don't get wrong, it wasn't bad, it was just okay, especially compared to his.

They did have a good selection of some local beers which was great and their Reuben sandwhich (that my boyfriend got) was REALLY good.

Beyond that, the drinks were overpriced and watered down.

I'd go again in the future, maybe check out one of the music shows, but I won't be planning on drinking a lot or have super-high expectations for the food.

It's hard to find an authentic Irish pub in these parts, but Lord help me if I didn't think I was in Ireland. The rustic, dark-lit atmosphere..the music..the food.. and of course, the Guinness!! I was in love with this place the moment I walked in the door. Thank you A Terrible Beauty for being a wonderful place to be!!

My first time here was on St. Patrick's Day. It was totally packed! Unfortunately we had to pay a cover to get in, but you got a free t-shirt and festive necklaces. Also, there was live music and Irish dancers. It was a lot of fun.

The food there was delicious, we ordered the Bangers 'N Mash which was good, it had Irish sausage, champ, and steamed cabbage. Also we ordered the Guinness Stew. I really like the Guinness Stew because it was very hearty, with tender chunks of beef and potatoes and veggies.

Our friend we were with ordered their Death by Mac 'N Cheese which looked REALLY good, which I'll have to try next time!

Since it was St. Patrick's Day, I had my first green beer! :)

I went to A Terrible Beauty as a tourist and for an early dinner. So... I can't speak to the night scene, but if I lived in the area I'd definitely want to make an appearance on St Pattys Day. It looks like my kind of bar.

They have a few nice beers on tap and I loved the IPA that I had. There is an item called "Death By Mac N Cheese" which I had high expectations for, but it was just so-so. I went with a group of 4 and nobody was all that impressed by the food. The fries are decent, so go there, get drunk, and have some appetizers. I'd skip this place for anything else.

What stood out to me the most about my first time experience here was the atmosphere. There was Irish music playing in the background, lots of huge windows to let in natural light, and a second floor that overlooks the whole pub. I felt relaxed and at ease. It was around 4pm on a Friday and it was reasonably busy, so the service was a little slow, but our waitress was nice. Disappointingly, they were out of chicken wings which I really wanted to try. Ordered chicken tenders and fries with their fried camembert cheese. The chicken was good and had a slight hint of spice. The camembert cheese was new to me and not really my palette. The happy hour food selection was a bit limited but decently priced.

I would be happy to visit again sometime and try more of their food and drinks.

Food is decent but service is typically slow ....Shame too because when the service is decent, its not a bad place to try. We've been here several times, each time because we really want to like this place but every time we go the service or lack of is always the issue.

I came in here for some drinks and dinner with my boyfriend with no success.
Upon arriving, we headed upstairs and checked out the menu. Lots of really delicious sounding things, irish nachos, salmon burgers and the like. I went down to the bar to check out prices and a double shot of Jameson is $18 bucks!! (12 for a double of well)
I know bars are pricey but c'mon man...that's more than it cost me at the ATL airport..
I checked out the beers on tap and a couple IPAs were pretty good but the bartender put off the vibe he was busy with his own thing & did not seem interested in helping us. Didn't feel like dealing with that after working all day so we ended up leaving and picking up some food elsewhere

Otherwise, it appears to be a legit place- - chill atmosphere, uber tasty looking/sounding food that's not too pricey really, which is a surprise with what they're asking for their good booze. Lots of good stuff, just a bad server, so I will totally stop by again unless that other place with pac-man & beer mugs painted on their windows is open by then :D

My friend and I were super excited to try this place given all the great ratings. Entering in, it looked pretty cool, and I was happy that they had their own parking lot. We seated ourselves as the little sign directed, and looked over the menus. We soon decided what we wanted, and waited for a server. And waited some more. And some more. In fact, we were waiting for quite a while. My friend actually had to get up and grab someone to take our order. Of course, as soon as that guy left, another guy popped by to see if we'd been helped. Seriously?

We both ordered the mac and cheese, and I got a side caesar salad. That was one of the best caesar salads I've ever had. The mac and cheese? Not so much. I was expecting more cheesy flavor, but it was quite bland.

Overall, I'm not really impressed. However, given the ratings it may have been an off night and I'd be up to give it a second chance.

This is a review of the fish and chips only and wait staff.

If you want traditional as in real Irish/English fish and chips I suggest else where. You have 2 batter options which is awesome but if a place is going to offer beer batter it had better be the thick golden brown batter you find in Ireland. Everyone at our table had soggy lightly coated overcooked fish. The chips - decent. Nothing to write home about.

The service was also irksome. We sat down with 3 adults and a baby - not a favored customer by wait staff I know. Wouldn't you think they would want us out as quick as possible? But no. Instead we were obviously ignored by the waiter so he can flirt and take the order of the 2 young ladies who sat down a good 10 minutes after us.

I have had good experiences here and I will come back. But I will not come back for fish and chips or expecting prompt service.

I love the charm of this place. They have great beer on tap, great drinks and they have great food. I love the bangers & mash, the shepard's pie, and they have really good seafood dishes. They do a great brunch on saturday/sunday mornings.

The atmosphere is very bar like, they have a fair number of tables and they cater to large groups especially if you call ahead. There are also board games around to chill with friends. Also there are couches around that you can order drinks and food from if you just want to hang out with friends.

There is a lot of different bands/solo players that come in to entertain on the weekends.

It's that time of year again. Time to feel Irishy! Break out your worst Irish accent, wear some kind of green thing and drink Irish Whisky (no 'e' in Whisky, that how they do it over there) and pretend to like green beer. Ladies, your odds of getting called "lassie" also go up dramatically, but fear not, the gentlemen calling you this are not referring to dogs, probably.

When you go out for St Paddy's day to celebrate your Irish heritage or some bullshit like that, go to Terrible Beauty (I just call it that, the "A" seems superfluous). They have Jameson, which is the correct whisky to get. Get that Bushmills shit outta here - that's Protestant whisky.

They have so-called "Irish" Nachos there, which instead of tortilla chips are made with potatoes. GET IT?? Potatoes. Ireland. Famine. Aww fuck it, they're good and include bacon. There's other Irish sounding food on the menu like "bangers" which sounds Irishy but you know it as sausage. Merrica!

I've been wanting to visit A Terrible Beauty for quite some time, and when I saw some pictures on Facebook of their brunch items I was sold and headed over on a Sunday morning.

The inside of the place is pretty awesome. Cozy and full of interesting decor. They're got a good tap list too, and I saw Green Flash on the list which I've never seen anywhere so I was kinda impressed.

I had no problems with the service as many past reviews h e mentioned. In fact out server was really great and attentive.

So why the 3 stars? It's all about the good. I really was underwhelmed. I chose this delicious sounding friend chicken on soda bread w gravy. I found the soda bread tasty, the gravy was ok... But the chicken... Ugh. Moist inside but the breading was soggy with no crunch. Chicken and soggy just don't go together. My poached egg was cooked perfectly, but the potato, pepper and onion mix was undercooked... The peppers were basically raw.

I'd like to visit one more time but for dinner, hopefully that'll be tastier than the brunch.

This pub restaurant has exceeded my expectation in terms of food quality, portion, customer service, and ambience! They have captured my heart by serving some really hearty Irish breakfast -- corned beef with potatoes and cafe vita coffee it is :) The corned beef is really juicy and tender with great seasonings and I believed is slow-cooked.. it also came with side of bread with a choice of scones, soda bread or english muffins. The weekend brunch is on both Saturday and Sunday from 9-3pm which gives you ample time to enjoy a hearty meal.

They have a two-level setting with typical hardwood furniture but the skylight and windows have added to an airy feeling yet still retain the overall warm atmosphere there. Service is efficient and attentive. Food portion is on the generous size and below $10 for breakfast!

They also have a very nice bar area surrounded by TV with extensive beer selection. So I am sure I will be hitting up this place to try out their beer and/or happy hour (weekday 3-6) next time!

Nice setting for a pub restaurant with a big bar area separating from the main dining room. My gf had wanted to try this place out for quite awhile so I thought why not. I will always give a place a try if I haven't been there before. This place reminds me of very much like any pub place I have visited before with the big dark heavy wood furniture. The furnishing does look dated though as the wood varnish was wearing off from the table top with just the wood showing through.

The food was very filing as I had ordered the Irish bacon and eggs. It came with a large serving of potatoes and a scone to boot. My gf had the corned beef hash with eggs and she commented that it was some of the best she had. They have a separate lunch and dinner menu, but when we came for lunch the menu offering was qutie extensive with many items to choose from.

They have quite a few tv screens around if you want to enjoy your beer with some sporting events on the tube. They also offer HH on a daily basis.

The service was quick and super friendly as they came around to check up on us quite a few times and was more than happy to refill your drinks for you. Definitely a place I wouldn't mind coming again to try their HH.

Whenever I try to tell people about fun places in Renton, they always make disparaging remarks, but I don't care. Renton is worth visiting. I live in Tacoma so I understand how hard the hateration can fly. Solidarity, friends.

Back to A Terrible Beauty though - this is a great spot! It has a warm, cozy, pub atmosphere. Good beer list and solid menu. As others have stated, it's not perfectly authentic - there are tons of non-Irish items like hummus but I for one am pleased that they also offer some American fare in order to accommodate different dietary needs and moods. That said though, I was able to eat really well in Ireland and North Ireland as a vegan, so I would love it if authentic Irish restaurants in America also included some of those lovely herbivorous options! (If you haven't had a currylicious vegan "sausage roll" from a deli in Belfast, you are missing out.)

I was pleased with the homemade potato chips (crisps) - they weren't overly greasy but they were still satisfying and crunchy. Good thickness and dare I say toothsomeness.

Only downside for me is the way the female servers are dressed -- super-short plaid schoolgirl uniform skirts and knee-high socks. I always feel like people who work at restaurants should have the OPTION of wearing the skimpy outfits, but they should be able to say yes or no, and that there should also be a skimpy version for males. If you say "oh no weird" than it's obviously the outfits are sexualizing and uh yeah that's not okay. Make it optional for all employees and then those who like to flaunt their bods can and those who would rather not get to be comfortable!

Overall, though, as I said, yummy food, good beer, and nice atmo.

A Terrible Beauty is a great place to go for trivia-My friends and I go every Thursday for fun, food, and drinks. It gets crowded, and for good reason-the atmosphere is fun, the food is good, and their beer and whiskey selection is awesome! Reserve a table for trivia night because it really fills up.

The staff is friendly even when they're busy and the food usually comes in a timely fashion and piping hot.

They also have live music too-last November they hosted the Irish punk band the Mahones, along with the Eastside Firefighters Pipes and Drums in full regalia; which was a killer show! There's an Irish singer who sings traditional songs and plays guitar during the happy hour before trivia.

My favorites on the menu: Dubliner Burger, Famous Reuben, HP Doorstep (kind of like a philly cheesesteak with HP sauce) and pretty much the entire appetizer menu; especially the St. Killian Cheese Bites and the Lucky's Parmesan Zucchini

Least favorite is the Guinness Irish Stew. It lacks flavor and even the soda bread it comes with is dry and flavorless. I don't recommend it.

I do recommend the Death by Mac and Cheese. You can get it plain or with rashers (Irish bacon) or grilled marinated chicken. All are good. It comes piping hot in a cast-iron skillet and is very rich and filling. You can split it with a friend but you may not want to!

Is it an "authentic" Irish pub? Don't know and don't care. It's a BIG space with two levels, nice atmosphere, beer and whiskey, and a great dinner and appetizer menu (I don't know about breakfast or lunch). There's a kid-friendly dining room upstairs. They also have a gift shop.

All in all a great Irish-American pub in downtown Renton.

Will never go back. Bartender added extra tip to my bill illegally (and I gave them a 20% tip).

Service wasn't particularly great either. Went only for a beer and took 10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table.

More than a review this might actually turn out to be a thank you note. Three weeks ago I moved to Renton and didn't have cable at home. As a Texas expat with a vague obsession with college football I was desperately trying to find a place where I could watch the cotton bowl and grab a drink and some food. This place had it all. They were kind enough to find the game and have it on pretty much every tv they had, they even try to fix a tv that wasn't working and was right in front of my table. They had some pretty decent food (I had the fish and chips) and a large beer selection as well (I had the moongoose IPA, about three to be more specific).
Tremendously friendly staff, wonderful crowd, and great live music (it was a Friday). I would totally recommend this place. Thank you!

My husband and I stopped in here for lunch at the weekend. Not only were the dishes not authentic, they weren't cooked properly.

I had the Potato Cakes'n Eggs brunch. The potato cakes tasted like they had sour cream or something else sour in it, which is not authentic and doesn't taste nice. Instead of being fluffy on the inside, they were pasty and sour. My dish came with a scone, which was an American style scone (huge, sugary, triangle shaped) instead of Irish (small, buttery, slightly sweet, circular). The scone tasted fine, it just wasn't Irish. But the jam they served with the scone was delicious.

My husband had the fry-up, which is called "The Giant's Causeway." Let me tell you this is a man who was reared on fry-ups, mostly in farmhouse kitchens throughout Ireland (and since emigrating, he has had countless fry-ups throughout the US) . First off, instead of an Irish breakfast sausage, this dish is served with a banger. The potatoes were cold, pasty, and seemed as though they had been cooked hours earlier. The "fried" tomato was raw. The puddings were not quality, and were cut so thick that the middles were raw. However, the eggs that came with both of our dishes were just fine.

The rest of the menu is not very authentic, at any rate. "Death by Mac'n Cheese" listed under Irish fare? Since when was macaroni and cheese "Irish fare"? And the Shepherd's Pie is made with beef, not lamb....so it's really a Cottage Pie, then. Things like those, coupled with the gratuitous use of Irish place names and 'n, o', wee, 'tis and such, make reading the menu painful for an expat Irish person.

The decor/ambiance is the fairly standard American-Irish pub scene. It is enjoyable, though, with a nice layout and would be good for groups, music, or having drinks.

I'm giving two stars (instead of one star) since we only visited once, and perhaps caught the kitchen on an "off" day. I have a feeling that if we visited again, or tried some of the dishes that weren't trying to be Irish, that we would have a better experience. The inauthenticity of the menu and preparation, however, make it unlikely that we will visit again.

What a great pub in Renton! A Terrible Beauty is the perfect place to have a drink (or two) and some hearty food that sticks to your ribs. The portions are huge and easily shareable or leftover for the next day. All their appetizers sound delicious! My favorite so far is the Ri Ra. Baked goat cheese with a tomato relish served with crostinis. There's nothing more comforting than baked warm cheese! Their casear salad is fantastic! And if you know me, you know I love a good casear salad.

The last time I went, they had some live music and live music is always fun!

My husband and I love this place. The food is great. The death by mac in cheese is amazing... a must try if you can handle that much dairy. Not for the faint at heart that's for sure. I am not a beer drinker but there is plenty of options if you are looking for a good brew.

We normally frequent this establishment for dinner or drinks but I have been the most happy with their brunch! I must try to fit more brunches into my busy life because it is sooo good!

I agree with the other reviews. It is pretty dark lighting, cramped seating (and I am a skinny person). The service at many times needs lots of work. Somehow I usually end up with a second drink that I never ordered... or she doesnt come by to check in at all. So there is much frustration with the waiting service.

Overall this has been a great place to go with friends and family!

Let's start off... I have wanted to come here for years, HAD actually been at this location when it was a different restaurant, AND NOW had heard good things.

This place is dark, and if you come on a 'open mic' music night, it is kinda loud.

The booths... are meant for SKINNY people. And for a skinny person, it is still uncomfortable. I am pretty sure, our table, was an inch or two away from my rib cage. I did like it that the booths were long, so a table of six could fit, but unless they are good with the table under their breastplate, it is a tight squeeze.

Second, I love Corned Beef and Cabbage. I have only ever had it at my families homes, so going out and eating it, was a treat. And it tasted the same. Which is good. DOWNSIDE: the waitress was mistaken. The menu said that the cabbage had a mustard dressing. I am not a fan of mustard so I asked if it was on the side, I had concerns since I dont like mustard. She said it was on the side. AWESOME. She was mistaken. The cabbage was tossed in it. frown. I ate it, since it was there. But I was sad.

The service was good... she came back and checked on us.

My bestie had the Mac and Cheese.... she said it was good. Nice and warm with crusty goodness on top... until it cooled.. then the crusty goodness was not so good. She had previously had some breakfasty stuff here, and thought it was good.

Lastly, we have previously come here on St Patricks Day. I wanted to get the feel of the place on the right day, but they charged a cover...
20$!
WAIT... WHAT?! ... awkward pause....We just want lunch.
Sorry... 20$.
Um. no.

So all in all, I would come again, give it another try... and ask for a larger seatery.

A late night adventure in Renton left us hungry and unsure of where to go.

It may be the season, but I just want pub food, like all the time.

A quick search with the Yelp app recommended a Terrible Beauty, the name was also familiar to me previously so we had no problems stopping in.

They were busy, considering it was a weeknight. There was live music, which ended just as we got there (sad) but it was a nice touch of ambiance. The space is very dark and the lighting kind of sucks which made looking at the menu and even your dining companion kind of difficult. We had two servers working with us throughout. Ordered their grilled turkey sandwich (which came w/ an awesome peach chutney) and fish and chips. Yes, it was like 9pm but I really wanted fish and chips.

I ate them all. It was so good. Three big pieces of halibut that was perfectly done. The order also came w/ a side of gauc? which was weird but ok.

The beer was great. We mistakenly ordered 3 (by running the names together) the server did let us know, but we were like: YEAH! Beer! We want that! And then out comes 3 pints. They were yummy and the accidental beer was the clear winner a white IPA (Chainbreaker)? Awesome! We've since purchased it a few times on our own.

If we're ever back in Renton, we are definitely hitting up a Terrible Beauty!

Great Reuben may be the best I have ever had....Really!!!

I had to try it three times before I give this place 5 Star 's!!!!

The best was the first one. The bread is a marbled lightly grilled, good portion of moist thinly sliced corned beef with great favor, Reuben sauce that didn't taste like a bottled dressing, tangy and crunchy sauerkraut with perfectly melted Swiss cheese .
WOW, all so well balanced it all came together perfectly!!!!

The next two didn't disappoint, but not quite as well balanced. One was a little short on the sauerkraut , and the third had the corned beef so stacked and moist it over powered the other ingredients.... But that's not a bad thing, that corned beef is SOOO good!!!

Then you just order a glass of Guinness for the perfect and proper pint and what more do you need?

Everything else I saw go by me and the satisfied looking folks around me I'm sticking to my 5 stars!
