A Terrible Beauty

A Terrible Beauty used to be above and beyond awesome, like 2-3 years ago it would have been a 5-star review no doubt.  This was a place that I'd take people for dinner/drinks and feel like the queen of england because I made such an awesome recommendation.  It's still good, don't get me wrong, but over the past couple of years it's just become less impressive and a bit pricier.  

I can't eat gluten so my go-to dinner order is the Caesar, plus salmon, minus croutons/bread, with an extra Dubliner crisp.  It's a really good salad, and filling - romaine hearts, a garlicky dressing, and the Dubliner cheese crisps are tttaasstttyyyy.  Not a whole lot of GF options on the menu, but they're happy to make anything without a bun and pay attention to cross contamination.  I also love that they have Magners and another cider on tap.

Service is always super friendly, and I don't mind waiting for food as long as drinks are attended to.  Atmosphere is cozy, personal, comfortable...people come here to just hang out, all ages, all scenes.  Love the live music and the two-level seating.  TVs are around for sporting event viewage, but not intrusive if you don't care about sporting events.

What I'm getting as is that this place gives a +1 to the "Renton vs. Ghetto" initiative currently underway.

Can't get enough of this place! I have only been here 3 times but always good food, good service and prices that are deserving of the experience.  I have recommended to several people and will go again.  Im new to WA state and was so happy to find this wonderful taste of Ireland.

Quintessential Irish bar with great atmosphere and liveliness, especially on a Friday night. You wouldn't know if you were in Renton or Boston from inside the bar. Great character. The food is average, the type you'd like while drinking. Burgers, wings, etc... It's all a little greasy. Which is probably why we haven't been back too often. In summary, perfect for a Friday night/afternoon beer or three... or Irish whiskey but nothing special about the food. They have live music some nights and depending on the genre, could make or break your night. Between here, World of Beer and Berliner compose my top 3 places to drink in Renton with Beauty taking the field of character.
