Can't believe they are still all over, premade garbage overcooked burgers and standard service( that's about the only positive). I would prefer the burgers at Wendy's and would not even entertain the idea of trying anything else. OUTDATED don't bother wasting both your time and money. Better off keeping your choices to local restaurants from this decade, 80s-90s were cool, the food not so much.
Review Source:I used to spend weekend nights at Friday's ever week when I was in high school (in the 90's)I suppose there must be a reason that in the past two years I've been to  Friday five times or less and after today I can say I will never be coming back.
Every time I've been here I have been less than impressed and today was the straw that broke the camels back. Walking into the restaurant was challenging because of the giant group that was seated at the front. I had to squeeze through and I am average sized and I still bumped into both chairs on either side of me. To me this is annoying and a huge safety issue if there were to be a problem inside it is single file lines out of the dining area. Yikes.
We get seated and I take a seat in a chair with my back to the "aisle" and within the first 5 minutes of sitting there my chair has been jostled no less then 10 times by people trying to get in and out. Absurd.
Service was the slowest thing ever. A freaking turtle could have brought me my beverage (sodas and iced teas at our table, nothing from the bar) 10 minutes is about 8 minutes too slow.
We all order the lunch special (unlimited soup, salad and bread sticks) Unlimited sounds nice, I usually like to indulge in two bowls of soup (gasp! I know) However we sat around at our table after finally ordering our food and we never saw our server again. It took at least 20 minutes to get said soups and salads to our table and then at least 10 minutes to finally track down our server to get our bill. Which of course turned out to be wrong because we got charged for drinks.
We were here for over an hour and had a bowl of soup and salad. I could have gone to Panera and had a much more enjoyable experience.
Goodbye Fridays, we're officially broken up. Forever.
Vistied this store on 10/30/12 12:30 during lunch with my dad ( he visits 1-2x a week). We were sat by the kitchen, so we could hear every word the servers and people on the line were saying. Our server was Heather, who was extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. The food we ordered came fairly quickly, and my ribeye was cooked a perfect temp. With that being said, my problems came from ordering one of their slushy drinks, and recieving a small black bar straw that made it impossible to drink this particular drink. When I asked the female bartender if they had any normal sized straws and she looks at me like im crazy and simply says "no" I again asked her If they had any restaurant sized drinking straws to drink this with, again, the answer was simply no. Sorry.
Now my problem was with her attitude, her lack of caring or sympathy for my problem, and her apparent lack of respect for me as a customer. No "yes sir, no sir" was used, Â she talked as though I was annoying her and she couldnt be "bothered" by a customer since she was so "busy" talking to the male bartender and taking care of her empty bar. (Apparently she doesn't realize the turnover rates of rude bartenders)
I said ok, walked over to the fast food place, and got a bigger straw.
Why is it that most kids working at restaurants these days have zero manners, no respect for customers, and look like they would rather be anywhere but at work.
Find more servers/bartenders like heather, and I might go back
Took my girls here for dinner before our movie...and wow. Terrible. Underwhelmed by the food. Â C had the Thai Steak over a noodle salad and gave me a taste, talk about low quality meat....gristle anyone? The sauce was good. I had the parm encrusted chicken, it came with pasta in a spinach-alfredo sauce, well, about a half -teaspoon of sauce. The chicken filet was tiny and stringy. The bruchetta salad was nice. The did manage to get A's chicken strips and french fries correct. This was the Northfield location.
The movie however (Pitch Perfect) was awesome !
This TGIFridays is fairly good. Â The staff is attentive and the food is...well...chain restaurant food. Â Not bad, but also nothing special.
Last night was extremely loud, which really made it difficult to even have a conversation with the friends I was with. Â Everyting we said had to be yelled across the table. Apparently they were having a trivia night in the bar area, while we were in the dining area. Â The announcer and the music were so loud that I really did leave there with my ears ringing.
Overall, it's an ok place that is open late, even during the week, so if you're looking for a place to hang that won't kick you out at 10pm, and you don't mind the noise (or you like trivia night), this would be a great choice for you.
Great food. It is a little noisy and of course the day I went it was really windy outside, probably hard to find days where it isn't windy out here in western Kansas lol.
Prompt service, attentive staff, and great tasting food what else is there to want from a restaurant. I love the Jack Daniels options, I actually prefer the steak but the burger is great for the price.
I can't believe I'm writing this review since I'm far too much of a snob to admit eating at a massive national chain. Â Never say never, right?
My kids wanted to go to Friday's in Northfield for dinner last night...thank you television advertising. Â After much deliberation of other alternatives the hubs and I gave in. Â We were very pleasantly surprised at everything.
The service was prompt, attentive and friendly on all fronts. Â The place was busy but not overly loud. Â While the menus at these places are overwhelming, we were all able to find something without too much brain damage. Â
Hubs had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Â The fries were great and the burger was cooked medium rare, just as ordered. Â I had the Korean Steak Tacos which were actually excellent. Â The steak was plentiful and tender and they were dressed with the perfect amount and combination of lettuce, cucumber and cilantro. Â Even the rice on the side was good. We both had side salads, which were fine. Â Nothing great but not bad either. Â The kids both had chicken strips and fries. Â First off, they were huge, enough for lunch today, and they were quite good. Â Since that's all my kids tend to eat when we go out we consider ourselves chicken strip experts. Â These were meaty with just the right amount of crispy coating.
Our water glasses were topped off regularly and the kids lemonade's were as well. Â The dessert the kids got was good too - dirt cups, or something like that. Â We'll definitely add Friday's to our arsenal of family restaurants
Some may look upon reviewing a chain restaurant as taboo. Nonsense.
I've been consistently pleased with this TGI Friday's. It's very affordable and we've had good food on every visit. It's convenient to stop by on the way to a movie at Harkins in the same shopping center.
I love their jack daniels offerings (I mean seriously, everything is covered in a delicious sugary sauce). The JD burger is great and less than $10.
My girlfriend orders their chicken and steak dishes and again they're very affordable and taste pretty damn good. They also have no problem doing substitutions. Less potatoes and more veggies!
I don't eat much at TGI Friday's but when I do, I am not disappointed ..YET anyway. Only thing that bugged me a little the last time I was there was that they offer To Go Orders but don't have a To Go Menu. So I asked if I could take a Menu out to the car for a second as the person I was with couldn't go in and they told me No. Do you think I'm going to steal your Menus? LOL Here's a simple fix - Get To Go Menu's! Otherwise, Ya get 4 stars! :)
Edit to add: Oh yeah - And your Mobile Website sucks! Which is why I asked to use a Menu in the first place. Â Might want to fix that.
Being the Yelper I am, I normally hate chain restaurants. However, in meeting a few coworkers here to discuss some upcoming events and projects, I was pleasently surprised by the following things:
1. The NEW menu items. The table sampled everything from the ahi tuni crisps & new steak skewers to the thai steak salad and the veggie dagwood (amazzzzzing!), and we loved every bite of it. It makes all the difference that they have changed up their menu :)
2. The attentitive staff. Our waitress was constantly refilling our waters (a huuuuge plus!) and helped us narrow down our decision of what to try by giving us her opinion and favorites.
3.The drinks. yummmmmm. that's all i can say :)
4. The overall atmosphere and vibe Friday's gives off now. Eye catching decor, fun artwork, jammin tunes and a revamped space, makes it much more appealing to me!
Overall, awesome experience, and i WILL be back to get to those yummy new things i didn't have the belly room to try!
:)
They still deserve only 1 star, but I did want to update my situation. Â It's funny a few days after my Yelp post appeared the gift certificates the manager said he'd said magically appeared in the mail! Â Of course now I realize that they're only good at TGI Fridays....and not on alcohol---bummer, don't know what we'll be able to stomach here, maybe I'll donate them to the next panhandler I see!
Review Source:The service was great, and the bathrooms are clean, but the food was just OK. I had Broccoli cheese soup and a side a fries. We had been doing some shopping and needed an adult beverage to help us through the rest of the crowds... the margs were $5 and really not that great. The total bill for the meals was a bit redonc...prices seem a bit steep for what you get. I've been to TGI's for happy hour before, and that is fine if you just stick to draft beers.
Review Source:Waitress:  (responding to my request for some ranch dressing to go with  the side order of broccoli I ordered)...  "Would you like it on the side, or for dipping?"
Me: Â "Yes." Â
The Cobb Salad was made w/ iceberg lettuce and perhaps 3 pieces of bacon BITS. Â Friend's chix wrap was crap, kids mac & cheese did not appease.
So I've only eaten at a Friday's once before, but they haven't failed me yet. Â Our waitress (kudos to Lauren) was really awesome. Â Not only was she attentive (in just the right amounts), but she was genuinely happy. Â That means a lot to me because I know how hard it is to plaster a smile on your face after a long day. Â My favorite part of the whole night was that she didn't interrupt a single conversation I was having with my boyfriend to ask how everything was. Â Yeah, the restaurant was slow, but I appreciated that she took the time to help us when we actually needed it.
The food was really, really good. Â The disgustingly awesome cheesy bacon cheeseburger (forgive me if I got the name wrong) was like Heaven for me. Â The drink I had was great too and I guess our only complaint was that the b/f's Sam Adams didn't have enough head on it. Â
It didn't really matter, but in response to someone else's review, I didn't find the music to be too loud at all. Â Maybe they jack it up when the restaurant is more full? Â All in all, we'll be back.
Since having kids who were difficult at restaurants, I have not been able to try the "new" TGIF's. Â
That has all changed recently. Â Date nights and a recent trip with the 3 and 6 yo have been pleasant!
About the restaurant. Â If you did not know, it is standard American fare. Â Burgers, steaks, pasta, salads, wings, some seafood. Â The bottom line? Â Food is good. Â Not gourmet, but really, really edible and tasty.
We've tried the following recently, and here are my takes:
BBQ sliders - ***** (AWESOME)
Flat iron steak - *** (average)
Chicken and Shrimp Pasta - *** (average)
House Salad - *** (average)
Breadsick (with salad) - **** (really good; piping hot)
Kid's pizza - **** (surprised! Â similar to Red Baron mini frozen pizza's; tasty with crispy crust; much much better than Red Robin pizza)
Kid's Mac-n-cheese - ****
Service - ****
The atmosphere was good also. Â Sat in bar and at table. Â The atmosphere was loud, but for a "bar and grill", it's standard. Â While not a sports bar, I could see catching a game here.
I gotta say, TGI Friday's sucks balls. Â It always seems like a good idea, but then I go there and realize that it still sucks and it always will. Â
We had a gift card for some free apps, so we figured that it might be good for a post-shopping bite to eat. Â We were there during happy hour, so we sat at the bar. Â I do have to give credit to Fridays, they do have pretty good happy hour prices, so they get an extra star for that. Â The music was BLARING and I could not hear my fiance sitting right next to me, I was constantly saying "what?" over and over again and that seriously got old real quick. Â
I ordered from their "right bites" (or something like that) menu.  I think they are supposed to be modeled after small plates.  The food was decent, actually it was better than my previous visits.  It was the service (or lack there of) that really ruined the trip for us.  When we finally got the bill, we put our credit cards out and then waited, and waited and waited some more for someone to run them.  Mind you, we were sitting AT THE BAR.  Where there is  BARTENDER who is always (supposedly) there.  The bartender either never noticed our cards sitting there or didn't care.  Finally I had to ask her to take it (after at least 25 minutes).  In the meantime, some poor dude sitting at a table behind us had to walk up to the bar and ask for a server since they had been waiting forever.  This was on a Sunday afternoon between 4 and 5:30, not exactly prime time.  No excuse.  Plus it seemed like they were well staffed.  Lame.
Don't ever go to this Friday's if you're in any sort of hurry. Â Expect crappy service and mediocre food at best. Â I'm with Kat A., go to the Target food place and you are guaranteed to have a better time.
I wouldn't tell you to never grace the doorway of this place, but I would strongly suggest you use it only as a last resort. A very, very last resort.
If I didn't have a few friends who work there, I would have given the place one star. However, we all have our loyalties. No, you know what? Screw the pity star. We've downgraded to one. That's right. I went there.
My personal experience(s) eating at the Northfield Friday's has been not so good. Slow service, food not cooked to order, and even my attempt at getting to-go food resulted in having to wait an inordinately long time before a waitress found the time to jot down that I wanted a sandwich and fries. And when I did get my food? Yeah, cold fries and no ranch on the side like I'd asked. They're a national chain. They should know better.
So, if you find yourself up at Northfield Stapleton and you're hungry and eating on a budget, skip Friday's and go to Heidi's Deli or Qdoba or hell, the food place in Target. You'll save yourself some time and probably get food that's warmer.
