Tim's Chrome Bar is a dive, the epitome of a St. Louis dive. That smell of stale cigarettes in the air, Knights of Columbus hall table and chairs, mirrors on the wall that scream hello from the 1970's. Â All of these things make me love this place. Â
Both times I've been here the live music hasn't bee that bad. Â Really fits the atmosphere. Â Drinks and shots are cheap and the bartenders pour heavy. Â I will be back to Tim's I'm sure and it will be just as glorious as the last time I was there.
Talk about throwback! This place is hilarious. Dark, and dated, Tim's Chrome Bar is located on Gravois across from Bevo Mill. They have a regular following of 60+ dancers who drink heavy and look like they have been doing so for many years.
They always have live music on Saturday nights. Usually, a two man band playing disco and wedding music. Very hokey, but FUN. We have made Tim's Chrome bar a stop on many a pub crawl and B-day party. It's a hoot to infiltrate, the bar and dance-floor with your own large group. Drinks are cheap and the regulars love it and aren't shy about joining in..
Visited on Friday night and had a marvelous time in this wood paneled wonder. Â Wood veneer tables, brown vinyl chairs, a dance floor - yes! Â There were two guys playing songs from the 70s and 80s - felt like a wedding reception. Â
This would be a great place to bring a large group of friends to dance and drink with the older folks who must be regulars. Â Plus this place is quite large - maybe they actually do have receptions here. Â Definitely check it out when you hit the Silver Ballroom and other places nearby the Bevo Mill.
