I love this place!
My one complaint is service is sometimes weird. When my husband and I get different stuff (me a dinner and him Sushi) --- our food comes out at different times, which is totally annoying. Even when we tell them we want it at the same time, there is clearly a communication error. It's now a joke between my husband and I.
But, the drinks are great, food is great, and their hibachi is really fun.
We go there once a week to laugh and to drink strong Scorpion Bowls!
Call ahead of weekends, they fill up!
5 Stars for the hibachi, 3 stars for sushi. Every time I have been for hibachi I leave feeling stuffed with delicious food. I have been to other hibachi places in the springfield/enfield area and Tokyo is my favorite. Sushi I am not such a huge fan of. I have tried it 3 times and every time the rice is dry and the fish is OK but not for the price. If you want cheap, good sushi try Ginger Blossom down the road, or Iron Chef in Longmeadow. If you are going to tokyo, get the hibachi!!!
Review Source:Everything is usually very good. Decor is amazing and staff is courteous and efficient. Except for the last time I was there and ordered a beer at the bar and had to wait five minutes for my change while the bartender ran off to do something else. The price of hibachi is so inflated compared to the amount of food given. Your basically paying for the show. Bring your wallet when you go because it's gonna cost you. I'm surprised they are still in business because of their prices compared to the area they are in. The drinks and bar service were great until they put a white blonde girl behind the bar. I'd rather go to Ichiban in East Longmeadow for my Asian food fix.
Review Source:I've been here about 5 times (for both lunch and dinner). I can't say enough about their delicious food. This place has the best and freshest food around. Â The attention to detail is rarely seen anywhere. Plating is beautiful. The decor is very nice and everything is clean. I've never waited more than a minute or two to sit down. I didn't notice any problem with service. I've brought friends and family, and everyone has gone back. It is very affordable.
Review Source:One of the best Sushi restaurants anywhere, including Boston and NY. Â They always have a number of interesting specials and their prices are reasonable. Â The tuna dumplings are wonderful. Â They pound tuna into a very thin square and then fill it with lobster salad (actually crawfish). Â Delicious. Â The sushi rolls are creative and artistically plated. Â The Hibachi is very good, but my 5 stars is for the sushi. Â On Sundays, they offer a brunch with 2 rolls, a martini ($8 value), salad and soup for $16.95. Â Separately these items could cost nearly $38. Â The decor is also nice.
Review Source:A little upscale for the neighborhood. Hope they make it. Nice place surrounded by choke & puke chains and low quality pizza joints.
I think they'd attract more people in if they cracked the shades a little in the evening. Â Closed, it looks uninviting and is right next door to a walk-in clinic, yuck! Â Hope the restaurant wasn't strategically placed there!
I am living in Boston, I tried lots of Japanese restaurant in Boston. Few days ago, me and my family have been to Conneticut, and our GPS shown this TOKYO Japanese restaurant to us. Â We've been to that place and that's really shocked me, I could not believe there is a such perfect Japanese restaurant in Springfield! good decoration, restroom is clean, and people over there were really nice to us. We tried hibachi in the restaurant, the chef was very funny, and made lots of fun to my kids. The manager gave us some coupons when we left. I definitly gona come back for it next time!
Review Source:This restaurant has a simple, lavish atmosphere with friendly sushi chefs and waiting staff. Â The sushi bar is especially friendly and social, as any good sushi bar should be. Â When I went, this time, it was staffed by Joe and Sky. Â :) Â This restaurant is new, at about a month and a half at the time I'm writing this, but it appears they've gotten brisk business. Â The fish was very fresh and cool, prepared with some wonderful chef's art like a big plate with extra space decorated lightly in sauce to look like fish, and another plate with similar sauce artwork resembling a pair of geese. It was almost a shame to ruin a good looking plate of food--almost, it was too delicious not to. Â The himachi (yellow-tail) sushi simply melted in my mouth. Â Yum! Â It appears that they have a wonderful looking alcohol serving bar and many large, flat-screen televisions--perfect for watching sports, as well as a fancy-shmancy performance hibachi for parties! Â I've been to many sushi places from California to Cambridge, and this appears to be about on par with some of the best of them--and they're right here in Springfield, right near the border to East Longmeadow! Â Highly recommended--just be sure to bring plenty of money, as you should for such good sushi.
