The roasted tomato soup is absolutely wonderful on a chilly day. So far I've tried l'entrecôte, the tuna sandwich, the braised pork and the power salad. Each meal was unique and delicious. Every detail was spot on, and that's why this place isn't cheap. I live pretty close to this place and they're going to be taking a lot of my money.

I had the pork shoulder sandwich and a side of the peanut slaw and it was filling and delicious. The space is cozy but we got there right before noon and didn't have trouble finding a place to sit.

I love Vert and I wish i didn't love it quite so much. Their sandwiches and salads are just amazing as well as their baked goods. The BLT is amazing. Their slaw might be the best I have ever had.

My one complaint- plan on spending $15 for a sandwich and an iced tea. I mean, I love my bacon but that is one pricey sandwich.

The cost makes it more of a "special occasion" than a "go to" place for me.This place is super tiny so plan on going early to beat the crowds of people in Lululemon and UGGs.

Had Roasted Tomato Soup, Quinoa Salad and a Chocolate Chip Cookie for lunch today at Vert. Stop dreaming of excellent tomato soup and quinoa salad and go here and get some. Very tasty, fresh and delightful.

Everyone seems to want cookies to be soft and chewy which seems to most often be accomplished by pulling them out of the oven half baked. While good, I can only imagine how awesome the cookie would have been fully baked, made crisp and golden brown by the fully carmelized sugar, structure fully developed, blah, blah, blah (maybe I could special order some fully baked).

Anyway, nobody wants to hear my cookie pet peeve and Vert rates five stars. Try it out.

Love their food! My personal favorite is the tomato soup and tuna sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The place is a little small and I have found myself nearly fighting for a table, but other than that - this place rocks! Healthy and fabulous options - I only wish they would expand.

Best lunch in Denver. This place is small & often hard to get a seat, but very worth it. I've had the tomato soup, the pork sandwich & the turkey sandwich. Holy shit it's good. Grab a salt caramel cookie too.

Boom son!! Another successful yelp recommendation. We had the chicken curry sandwich, sesame peanut slaw, pulled pork sandwich with the turkey pasta salad, lemon tuna with tomato soup. Everything was delicious. Even the kids pb&j. The only reason I gave it five stars is they didn't have the le fleur cookies everyone has been raving about, she did not make them after the holiday. Soninguess that gives us a reason to come back.

Very is one of my favorite places in Denver. Everything there is amazing. Fresh, local, organic foods.

My favorite is the turkey with whatever quinoa side that have and an Arnold Palmer.

This place is a must try in Denver.

This place is the bomb. It is cozy and has an minimalist urban vibe, with almost a Parisian feel to it. Simple and elegant, just like the food. They have a small menu of delicious items and daily soups and salads. This is a great spot if you have dietary restrictions, particularly dairy. Their quinoa salad might be the best quinoa salad I have had. Their soups are always fantastic, and the fleur de sel cookies are buttery love bombs. This place has an awesome outdoor back patio for those nice days when you can't bear to be stuck inside.

True story. I ate the best cookie I have ever had the good fortune to sample at Vert Kitchen. That is saying a lot as I love me some cookies! The Fleur de Sel Cookie haunts my dreams. I would almost end my review there because it was truly the highlight of my experience. If you go, and they're serving, so yourself a favor and pick one up!

I also had the creamy tomato soup (good but not mind blowing, perhaps because I had already gotten my mitts on the cookie by that point) and the ginger apple sauce (didn't taste the ginger but the apple sauce was very fresh and tasty).

Vert Kitchen is adorable but itty bitty. Plan to sit at bar style seating unless you are one of the chosen few to snag a table!

Perfect little spot on quiet section of Pearl street. Just a heads up this place is only open for lunch 11-4 so just plan for that. As to the food it was very good I had a steak sandwich and was perfect with really good bread, which is sometimes hard to find here in Denver for some reason. The pasta salad was also very good just small portion. They are a very small facility so I would suggest getting there a little earlier than when you want as the place is popular and can fill up real quick. Also the patio seating in the back is the best; if not and weather permits try the front tables outside. The only downfall of this restaurant is the price tag, they have good food and know it so charge for it with small portion sizes. Would go back if they were a little cheaper so will be trying other places in my neighborhood before I come back.

    This place is fabulous!

I am in love with their fresh squeezed lemonade, turkey sandwich, and cookies.  Although it can be a little pricey, the extra cost is absolutely worth the extra taste.  The employees are always warm and friendly and the food is always delectable.

My husband and I will be coming back VERY often.

Any time you see the word French, it is assumed the place will be expensive. Yes, this place is pricey, but there are fewer things in life I enjoy more than the simplicity of a perfect sandwich. It's got all the key players; crunchy bread, meats, artisan cheese, veggies and a spread of seasonings.

I ordered the curried chicken salad sandwich with a zesty summer potato salad, and it hit the spot. I only got halfway thru mine before I was full.

The best part about my visit was being given a slice of cookie from another patron. As she convinced her friend to try it, she pulled off a piece for me. And it wasn't just any cookie - it was a fleur de sel. It was unlike any other cookie I've had - hints of butter, brown sugar and caramel, topped off with sea salt. I am in love.

This place is now on the list. You know, the list where you take special people when they're in town.

Amazing! I loved all the great flavor and food options and it was healthy to boot! It is great to find a such a great local place that supports the local economy and has fresh, organic food that tastes fantastic and keeps my waistline in check :)

I will be back for sure!

    Taste Bud Orgasm.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about Vert Kitchen. I've passed by here a million times, and never gave it a second glance, mostly because I feel like I'm often disappointed by places like this (small, obscure, 'order at the counter'). It doesn't look like much, but boy was I dead wrong.

I had the chicken curry sandwich on recommendation and it literally took my breath away. Such fresh, creative flavors and ingredients. Every bite was better than the last.

I cannot wait to go back and try something else on the menu. It's the best lunch I've had in years. Yes, I said it, years. And, I don't even really like sandwiches!

    YUM!

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally had the chance.

After looking over the menu online I decided to either get the curry chicken salad or the roasted turkey. In the end, I went with the turkey (my friend ordered the chicken salad).

First and foremost, fresh and quality ingredients. All of the great flavors, goat cheese, fig and bread were all so tasty. Probably the next best thing was the little side, a peanut slaw...absolutely GREAT! So refreshing and nice taste.

Can't wait to get back here!

This place is great, the food is delicious, I only have been there once but I feel that you could order anything off of the menu and it would taste good.

I ordered the soup of the day, a vegan mushroom soup...I am not vegan but the soup wasn't lacking any flavor whatsoever. And my salad was fantastic.

The food is pricey but they use quality ingredients.

Here's a tip...read the menu carefully, as they most certainly do not have a soup and sandwich combo. Seeing that I looked at the menu online about 5 times, and what lured me here was the "soup and sandwich combo", you can imagine my disappointment when I ordered it to find it was make believe. Insert sad face here...

I ended up ordering up the sandwich part of my pretend combo - Curry Chicken and I don't mean to get all cheerleader on your a**, but it was A-W-E-SOME! I had the quinoa salad as my side, and it was just ok (i still love the one at Wooden Spoon best of all). This meal was $11, which i find $$$ seeing that i was still kinda hungry after. This place is teensy tiny, so if you think you'd like to sit down and eat, I recommend arriving no later that 11:15 during the week. I don't see myself rushing back here anytime soon, but I am glad I tried it.

    Absolutely amazing.

Delicious, fresh food.  Welcoming staff.  Comfortable ambiance.

Came here with my Mom & boyfriend a few weeks ago and was instantly pleased.  Sandwiches were like nothing I've ever had before.  Had the lemon tuna & turkey sandwiches.  Flavors are complimentary and not overwhelming.  Side dishes were healthy and the perfect addition.

    Will be coming back soon!

Listen, it's no secret that I love bacon. In fact I may need to seek professional help soon for either illustrious love affairs or clogged arteries. So, when I show up to a sandwich shop and they serve a BLT, 9 out of 10 times I'm ordering it. And that's exactly what happened at Vert.

Things went in a brand new direction though for my taste buds and my tummy when said BLT came with fresh mozzarella. Ho.ly. Toledo. If there is anything I like more than bacon it's probably cheese. You put these two things together and I'm in mouth heaven. And it certainly didn't hurt that it came of fresh, delicious bread. In fact, my entire meal had me singing Outkast's tune with a slight word change because it was all so fresh and so good, good...

Sandwiches came with a side. I chose fruit salad, but there were two other options that seem to change daily. And they ran between $7 - $11 dollars. Maybe more than a typical shop, but as many others have mentioned it was definitely worth it. You can taste the quality and love in every bite. And if a sandwich made with love isn't worth $10 I don't know what is...

    Great sandwiches
Really good coleslaw peanut thai salad on the side of my BLT. I love eating a BLT and this one was definitely a good twist on this traditional sandwich

I went for lunch with four companions and we all enjoyed our meals immensely. Overall we found everything to be fresh, delicious and sophisticated in flavor. Nothing to fault this venue for that I could find.

The L'Entrecote (steak sandwich) was particularly yummy, due to the unique walnut mustard spread, as was the Curry Chicken Salad sandwich, which was an explosion of layered flavors. Three sides (which change seasonally) were available with our lunch - potato salad, peanut slaw, or quinoa salad. I tried all three and they were equally excellent. The quinoa salad was subtly sweet, due to the hominy and blueberries, and the potato salad had just the right amount of pickle.

We all had the homemade raspberry lemonade and sat out back on the deck, where we surprisingly found plenty of seating at noon on a Friday.

AYE YE AYE! Talk about divine brilliance!

I would venture to say that this was the best lil lunch delights i have had in a while.

Bless the location and the day, I took my grandma here one fine afternoon only to find out that the roasted turkey sandwhich with brie chesse and figs took my breath away. it was to say the least, MARVELOUS! (and Marvelously pricey) However i made my way on my plate to the Quinoa Salad, and the taste was Amazing! Honestly words cant really describe how good it was but my mouth was well pleased!

OH how i wish i hadnt mention this place of great bliss... but it wouldnt be pure and decent of me not to share.

The ingredients on this sandwhich and the salad are made with Chivalrous heart and soul!

Tally HO Vert Kitchen! I raise my Sword to YOU!

This place on s pearl in west wash park is a sandwich place to be reckoned with. Fresh, delicious product along with a quaint cottage type feel make it perfect for an afternoon lunch rain or shine.

The whole scheme works from three seasonal side items, to the linen rollups.

The only thing that would put it over the top would be a topping off of ice tea on a hot day!

    Much love to vert kitchen.

    Hello hot hot Yelp place!

I'm in the "this place is amazing for lunch with a date" crowd. The sandwiches are fantastic--I've tried a chicken curry one as well as the arugula & skirt steak one (and I get a damn Limonata every time).

Having been there three times though, I'm prepared to say it doesn't matter what you get because every dish on the menu seems very carefully crafted around the protein. And that's a good thing. The bread doesn't steal the show, the meat is cooked to perfection, and the remainder of ingredients are stripped to the essential things that actually really compliment the dish in a high-cuisine flair for reductionism.

The best part about a Vert sandwich, though, is those extra little culinary tweaks they throw on things. Walnut mustard on skirt steak? Holy God. Currants, apple and taragon on chicken curry? Gives the dish a great touch.

Be sure to check out the patio on the back if it's anything close to a nice day. They have plenty of seating, fresh herbs and some sweet canvas umbrellas in a nice & quiet neighborhood.

I think that perhaps I am not really a sandwich aficionado because I don't think I could ever muster up 5 stars for any sandwich place.  I think this place is A-OK but not all that and a bag of chips (which are $2 for a small bag by the way).  A pickle is a buck - ouch.

    Pros:
    - Friendly staff (Veronica was delightful).
    - The bread is pretty exceptional.
    - Combination of ingredients is creative if not necessarily to my taste (hate sprouts).
    - They're pretty quick.  Called in an order for three sammies - ready in 10 minutes.

    Cons:
-Place is tiny - best do takeout.
-Sampled 3 sammies - Tortilla Espanola, Braised Pork Shoulder, and Tuna
-Tortilla Espanola  - pretty bland - omelette sandwich - not so much.
-Pork Shoulder - greasy to the max - soaked thru its wrapping and the bag. Could only eat half of it before I felt like I needed to make an appointment with my cardiologist.  Been enjoying reverb all afternoon.
    - Lemon Tuna - liked by its owner but very unusual for tuna - review  ingredients carefully before ordering.  Kind of like tzatziki with tuna added.
-They were out of their Roasted Tomato soup at 12:45 - bad planning.  The soup de jour,  the only choice remaining, was white bean and parsnip - blech.  Parsnips and rutabagas are the Devil's work.

Sandwiches come with a choice of a little portion (and I mean literally two tablespoons max) of today's salads (potato or Asian slaw).  Potato was really dry and bland but the Slaw was pretty faboo.

So, with a tip it was $40.  Pretty steep in my view.  Go back?  Maybe.  But, nothing I tried is anything I'll be craving right away.

I now believe in love at first bite after dining at Vert Kitchen last Saturday.

We got there at noon on the dot and it was empty. I was immediately smitten by the charming dining area, but I was confused on how to order so I asked, "Do we order up at the counter? Sorry, this is our first visit.."

The gentleman behind the counter welcomed us, handed us a couple of the menus and confirmed we order there, take a number and sit. I ordered the Turkey with goat cheese, pine nuts and figs with a cup of the soup of the day, French Lentil. My dining companion ordered the BLT and Roasted Tomato Soup. We both selected the orzo salad for our side dish.

Both sandwiches and soups were absolute perfection. The French Lentil soup was homey and the sliced apple and onion were a nice surprise that added a kick of flavor. I had a taste of the roasted tomato soup and will definitely be enjoying that during the winter months. My turkey sandwich was the perfect combination of savory, creamy, sweet and tart, it was so good it made me want to hum. Perhaps the only thing I'd change is the bread. I'm pretty sure I'd prefer something like the  multigrain used for the BLT to the Baguette, but again, that's just a preference.  The orzo salad was the perfect accompaniment to my meal  with cranberries and chopped up pecans tossed in a tasty vinaigrette.

Like many others have said the price is a little steep, however I truly believe you're getting what you pay for at Vert Kitchen. And if you are looking to save a little money, I'd suggest what I think I'll do next time: go with someone that's willing to split a sandwich and each order your own cup of soup. That brings it down to under $10 a person and the portions are certainly large enough.

Looks like this will be the beginning of a very special relationship.

Thanks to Holly C's ROTD I went to Vert Kitchen. It was perfect timing too. My mom had just gotten into town and she came to pick me up from work. We got in the car and headed to me casa and I realized I didn't have my keys!! Fantastic, right?! Well, thank heavens there is a lot to do in Denver to waste time and since we were both hungry I suggested we grab some lunch here.  I had just seen Holly's review just 2 days before and thought, I want to go there!

Our sandwiches were so fresh. The ingredients were top notch. I ate up the curry chicken salad. It was full of delicious chunks of chicken and currants and cashews, then topped off with thin slices of apple. Heaven!! I love curry chicken salad and this was the best I've had. My mom had the BLT. Again, very very fresh. I love juicy red, really red, tomatoes. That to me is a sign that these were grown somewhere local. The bacon was thick sliced and not greasy. To make this BLT special they add fresh mozzarella, which makes this sandwich out of this world. Hence the 5 stars! We also enjoyed the potato salad and the orzo salad. The potato salad was extra special too because they use thousand island in it. Delish. I should also mention they serve sun tea. I love sun tea, and I never have seen it served anywhere in Denver.

Not only are these sandwiches amazing, but the back patio is adorable. We sat out in the sun for some time and never felt rushed by the staff. The patio reminds me of something that you would see on an old farm. It is decorated with fresh flowers all around, and each table has a potted flower too. Just adorable. I can't wait to go back!

I was lucky enough to have selected this place (thanks, Yelp!) for our lunch on our first day visiting Denver. What a treat! We had very high quality, flavorful food in a delightful neighborhood and a relaxing environment for conversation.

I tried the house roasted turkey and the fresh pasta salad as a side. Fantastic.

This is exactly the kind of place that I want to share with all of my friends.  When someone asks where we should go for lunch I will say Vert!

This wonderful lunch spot serves soups, salads, and sandwiches.  So far I've tried the curried chicken salad sandwich and the B.L.T.  Both were fantastic.  The curried chicken salad has just a hint of tarragon, and the perfect balance of fruit and nuts.  I couldn't get over how flavorful it was.  The B.L.T. has thick, crispy bacon, creamy mozzarella, and a light and tangy drizzle of a lemony vinaigrette instead of your plain old mayo.  It too was fantastic and so incredibly flavorful.

Based on my first two experience all I want to do is go back again and again.  There is so much more on the menu to explore!  I think I'll go today!!

Vert Kitchen: Small in size, gigantic in taste!

I stopped in here for lunch last week with lovely yelper Yvonne C and couldn't be more pleased that I finally made it to this house-turned-restaurant. We were there just past the lunch rush so didn't have trouble finding a seat, but I can imagine it doesn't take much to make a full house.

    Highs:
    - They serve cucumber water, which makes me feel like I'm in a spa, so I like.
    - The food was so, so flavorful. We split a lemon tuna sandwich and a power salad, and still had a little left on the plate, so thumbs on on portion sizes.
    - Elegant presentation, from the food to the overall feel of the restaurant. Though it was hot as hades, we sat on the adorable back patio, and you can tell there is a great pride of ownership here.

It was a little confusing on how to order - they were out of several things by the time we arrived at 1 p.m. and the woman taking our order seem surprised that we were ordering (and splitting?) a salad, in fact she asked us several times. That made us feel like we were ordering incorrectly, but at the end of the day, the food was amazing so no complaints.

I will definitely be back for the delish fare!

We stopped by Vert Kitchen today because of the glowing Yelp reviews it has received, and were not disappointed. It was a gorgeous sunny day, so we placed our orders at the counter and then took our food out to a spot on the shaded and comfortable back patio.

I ordered the curry chicken salad sandwich with the asian coleslaw on the side, and a cup of coffee. The sandwich was very tasty, though not unlike other curried chicken salads I've had in the past. I thought they could lose the layer of mayo that covered one side of the bread since the salad was already wet enough. It was hearty and tasty, and the coleslaw was flavorful with a nice crunch that let you know it was fresh. They absolutely get an A+ for coffee, which was some of the best I've had anywhere.

My fiance has the skirt steak sandwich, and honestly I wish I'd ordered what he had. It was on a nice, toasty baguette. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, and accompanying it was some arugula and tomatoes and I believe a whole grain mustard. I kept stealing bites of the sandwich and his delicious potato salad side.

My biggest complaint would be the price. As another Yelper pointed out, it's a little hard to swallow that 2 sandwiches and drinks set us back $28, but the ingredients were top-notch, and there was actually a decent amount of "service" involved--plate clearing and bringing us food and silverware--even though we ordered at the counter.

    Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-licious!

The food at this place sort of reminds me of Urth Caffe in LA. The prices might be up there for some peops...but it's organic and everything is very high quality. If you're trying to compare it to subway prices - please stop.

But the setting is SO not LA - it's very quaint and quiet and homey. And no LA 'tude. Portion size is actually proper for modern-day humans. Totally worth every minute and every penny.

Had a curry chicken sandwich with came with potato salad, no questions asked.  Admittedly the sandwich was very good, esp the bread was very good.  I just didn't dig standing in line and then paying almost 11 bucks for a sammy....prob bec I was alone and in work clothes and everyone else was having their  trustafarian type get together?

    The staff was sweet.

    "Absolutely, Love."

That's all I am going to say. That, and oh..."BLT."

(The only thing, it's pricey. So expect to spend close to $20 for one person, a little less, if you watch your spending.) But, if you can splurge, there's no better place for a great sandwich and true passion for food.

    Yourenotgoingtobelievehowgoodthisplaceis . . .

Now, to experience absolutely delicious lunchtime food,  you don't have to spend $20-$30 bucks at some fru-fru high end bistro. We can all just head over to Vert's and dine like royalty.

Five glorious stars to Vert's for being a lunch place that serves the best food / sandwiches at reasonable prices.

This sandwich shop has some treats in store that will surprise you: First, when you go in you'll think the place is just a take-out counter. But the design hides a great backyard patio that seats another 20+ people in some far-from-the-street sunshine.

Second, everything is homemade from top quality ingredients. Today I had, without a doubt, the finest BLT sandwich I've ever had, or could ever imagine having. It now serves as the very definition of what a BLT should be:  triple-thick, perfectly cooked, premium bacon, served along with bufala mozzarella and ripe, end-of-summer tasting tomatoes, all piled high on the freshest homemade rye bread, and accompanied by a gourmet peanut sesame cole slaw. Finished it off with a Limonata, and I can't remember having a better lunchtime sammie.

Denver now boasts several amazing sandwich places that range from Ba Le and Snarf's to Biker Jim's (a hot dog is a sandwich:-). You can add Vert's to that list. You are gonna absolutely love this place. No wonder discerning Yelpers' reviews average out to a full 5 star rating for Vert's!

Be there or be square. Vert's is the best.

Holy wow! This is the best sandwich I have had in a long, long time! On my first visit to Vert yesterday, I was so pleasantly greated by a lovely+cozy atmosphere, an amazing menu, and nice staff. What a great experience!

I went with my mom and we split the turkey sandwich with fig, goat cheese, and pine nuts, we each also got a cup of the roasted tomato soup. Delicious with a capital D. Amazing. First of all, the presentation was beautiful! Next, the flavor and taste was really incredible. So fresh! Seriously, some of the freshest tasting ingredients I have had in a restaurant in a while. I was a little bit sticker shocked by the $9 price tag on the sandwich and the $3.50 for a cup of soup, but oh wow was it worth it? Oh yes! I can't wait to come back and try yet another delicious sandwich for lunch!

I like this place sooo much I create circumstances so I can eat there.

They have some of the most delicious sandwiches, soups, and salads I have ever had. They are fresh, simple, with that extra special touch that makes good--- outstanding.

I love their turkey sandwich and this salad made with brussell sprouts and cauliflower....I have thought about it for
    d a y s
afterward. I created a sneaky senario today to eat there, but alas no brussell sprout salad. Sad face. Looks like I will have to get sneaky again real soon!

So the moral of this review is If you are looking for a healthy delicious lunch go to Vert and thank me later, just don't eat all my favorite stuff! =]
