I have eaten here many times, and never disappointed! The servers have always been incredibly nice and provided excellent service. They frequently have live bands, piano players...etc. food is good and the Wine Dinners are an excellent deal. What other restaurant can you get a bottle of wine served for $5 over the cost to buy it in the store? Their bottle prices on the store side are generally cheaper than anywhere else in town. Lunch is good but usually not many people there. We usually end up going to Brynn Frozen Yogurt after on our way out to top off the evening..

We went there last Friday evening to check out the zinfandel and "small plates" tasting -- and were really looking forward to it!

As soon as we opened the door we smelled fish.  Nasty-smelling fish.  Like WAY too old fish!  Well, since fish was one of the items on the tasting we decided we'd pass on that and figure out "Plan B."  Smelling "fish" throughout dinner was bad, but eating it may have been worse.

We each had a glass of mediocre cabernet and we ordered a small pizza and a salad.  While the pizza had a whole wheat crust (yea!) the "sauce" was nothing more than chopped tomatoes -- like right out of the can with no spices whatever.  Tasteless.

The server pretty much lost interest in us when she found we were not going to eat much and service went down hill faaaaast.

Folks, here is a place to avoid.  Recommendation:  Leave it for folks like "Jonathan."

Not sure what stick was up the butt of the previous reviewer, but I adore this place. To be fair, I've only been for dinner, not brunch, so I can't speak to that. Their tasting menu is the absolute best deal in Winston Salem: great menu choices that change constantly, lovingly prepared food and thoughtful wine pairings. Four courses with wine pairings will only run you $40 a person, $30 without desert. Among my favorites in Winston (Vin205, Springhouse, Mozelles, Willows), Vin205 is my top. From an absolute perspective, some of the items at Springhouse and Willows are better, but from a price perspective, the quality of the wine and food at Vin205 is unbeatable. Hats off to them.

We went here at my mother in law's suggestion for Mother's Day, took the entire family. First off they don't have any high chairs, so we had to go get our stroller. Our waitress was lacking of anticipation or experience which left us sorely needing. I saw other tables with mini blueberry muffins -- but we never got any. I asked about what type of bread was used for the French toast, was told how to make French toast, decided instead to order the "Classic" Eggs Benedict. I also ordered sausage on the side. No joke - McDonalds has better sausage patties. Now lets talk about the Eggs Benedict. The poached egg was over poached and what they called hollandaise sause I would hesitate to even call lemon butter. It was an embarrassment - especially for the prices they charged. My husband ordered an omelet with the home fries, which were cooked in bacon fat - not so great for the vegetarians. It was the most expensive, worst food we've ever tried to eat - let alone the service.
