You know, it's not Capital Grille because it's a different genre, and they do dynamite as an upscale family steak house. Â The mustard corn vinaigrette on the salad is wonderful. Â The steak and potato were delicious. Â The service was great. Â They marshalled people waiting very efficiently. Â I can't find anything negative to say, and I'm a very analyzing person. Â Good job.
Review Source:The restaurant was overall wonderful but the service was lacking because the waiter said that they were short handed a couple people............. The night was good, we had a waiter that was on cue the whole night and that is what made the night wonderful.... I would go again without any hesitation.
Review Source:If you're expecting upper scale dining, this would not be the place.
We were downtown and thought that we'd be able to go there without a reservation. That was a huge mistake. They told us
1 - 1 1/2 hours. We figured that's probly average for downtown on Friday night. We wouldn't be seated for more than 2 hours. There is no real "waiting area" to perhaps have a seat while you wait a ridiculously long time. There is a small make shift room mostly outside to wait in but it was less than 30 degrees out and that wasn't really an option for us.
So, after waiting 2 hours... We're finally seated right next to an "open kitchen". I'm not exactly sure why a restaurant would do this. I didn't mind at first and actually thought it was pretty cool. After a while it was extremely annoying with all the yelling (in Spanish) and banging around of dishes and such. Aside from all the noise, you're able to see the plates come out which often times sat there for several minutes and even up to 15 or more under heat lamps. Started getting nervous about what kind of "upscale" place we chose for dinner.
Wait staff was great. Water and bread were promptly brought to our table. Our server was kind and fast. Ordered our drinks first. No fountain drinks so I had to choose from their other choices. The only one I wanted was their "strawberry" lemonade. Yet another disappointment as she told me they were out of the strawberry. Guess they ran out of syrup. Next was our starter. I got the "baked" onion soup my wife the baked potato soup. Her soup was piping hot straight from the soup kettle (not the oven). My onion soup was "less than perfect, and not up to my expectations" says the manager. It was barely warm with a half inch layer of previously melted cheese which has now solidified. By now I'm pretty angry. They quickly replaced my soup with a different kettle soup. Ordered our entrees. They came out reasonably fast. Wife got a burger which was pretty good. No real complaints. I ordered the brisket. It was just ok. Kind of dry. Soaked in BBQ sauce made it better.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend. Definitely make a reservation if you go.
