Went to the Well on Easter Sunday for their brunch...it was great.  We will be back!  Also great rooftop patio with a great view!

I went to the well and had the most horrible experience with a surly, slow, tacky waitress named Emily.  She messed up our orders and spent a lot of time visiting or talking with the other servers.  We were looking for an off beat location to recommend to our out of town clients coming in for the all star game.  We know that power and light will be really crowded and we heard that this place was not far from the plaza with a great rooftop bar and food.  Unfortunately the fish tacos were not enough to overcome the crappy service provided. Since we were there for lunch I can only imagine what this waitress would be like during a crowded all-star weekend event.

My manager expressed his displeasure with the server to the management.  We found it interesting that she had been a server there for a long time.

The well without Emily would be a great venue.  The good thing is she works mostly day time hours.  Wr r going tom try again at a later time and hope "crappy server" is not working any overtime,

The Well has become the default Happy Hour spot for my co-workers and I. Although I much prefer hanging out on the roof, the main indoor area is spacious and comfortable. The last time I was there, the basketball game was at a verging-on-annoying volume (and I'm a sports fan), but it was March Madness and I haven't had that problem before, so I'm going to call it a fluke.

Most of the food I've had has been off the Starters menu, and it's all been very good. The hummus and wings are excellent, and the nachos are huge and have a load of toppings.

The beer selection is good, and the wine list is nice for a place that sits closer to the sports bar side of the axis than anything else.

Service is always friendly and prompt. At my last visit, the server recommended a different wine than the one I chose, because she said she found it more flavorful. It was Happy Hour, so there wasn't a price difference, and I appreciated the advice.

And I'll give an extra plus to any place that has the super-powerful hand dryers in the bathroom.

After hearing from management, went in with my sister for lunch last week. Had the slider burgers, much improved, fries were the same but were better complements to this meal. The sliders though were very good, onions cooked perfectly on them and enjoyed the freshness of the bun. Really nice return visit!

I enjoy their beer selection and their patio.  The service is usually really fast as well.  The only down side are the amount of bros residing here.  I have to dodge many an abercrombie and boat shoed bro in the couple times I've been here. However, given the beer selection and service, I'm ok with the crowd.

This is a great spot in Waldo especially in the summer.

Nice venue for Happy Hour - particularly for rooftop! There are great specials PLUS, if you are lucky, you can snag a fire pit that gets lit up after dark! Be warned though, your napkins/ appetizers may just light on fire!

Cover charge--for a DJ?!  No thanks.  We've been before for a private party and it was fine, but we passed when we tried to return and were charged for a DJ.  Not worth it. Go to tanners.

I don't have the highest expectations when it comes to bar food. I just want whatever I get to be serviceable. However, The Well does bar food right. Their wraps, burger, and  sides are all delicious. It's a good, broad crowd that frequents here and it doesn't claim allegiance to one particular local college. Of course the rooftop is nice, but I enjoy watching basketball games and playing Big Buck Hunter with friends more than anything. A really welcome addition to Waldo.

I had always heard of The Well in passing because it's so close to Waldo Pizza, however, had never made the short trek down the street to try until just recently.
For my 23rd birthday, instead of doing the usual huge party and smoke-out, I decided it's time for something new, so I gathered my family together for a dinner at The Well.
Parking in Waldo can be a bit of pain, especially at peak dinner hours, so we had to park in the back parking lot, which is about a half a block down from the restaurant, but it was a beautiful night, so I had no qualms with it.
The restaurant had plenty of patrons upstairs enjoying the weather, but because my grandmother was with us, we decided to stay downstairs, where there weren't quite as many people, so we were seated the moment we walked in.
Our waitress, who was bubbly and pleasant the entire evening, came by not a minute later to get our drink orders and, courtesy of Yelp!, a free appetizer of Spinach Artichoke dip and chips! We added an order of chili cheese fries and smoked salmon dip and eagerly awaited our appetizers. We waited for our appetizers to arrive to order, simply because there were too many good options to choose from!
Our appetizers arrived a few minutes later, and holy bajeezus. Quite the spread! The salmon dip was absolutely out of this world! Served chilled with crackers, the dip is packed with TONS of salmon (and I mean TONS), seasoned with a sweet, slightly creamy, and capers (which I'm not normally a fan of), I didn't know it was possible to fall in love so quickly. PERFECTION. I could have made a meal out of it just by itself! The spinach artichoke dip was hot and steamy, but could have used a little more salt and pepper for my taste. I could have eaten more of it, but I was too busy obsessing over the salmon. The chili cheese fries were phenomenal too! I definitely had my fair share!
I ended up ordering the smoked salmon sandwich with fries on the side, and wow! So good! The sauce they served with it was magical! It was definitely hard to eat the whole thing because the sandwich was huge - and I ate a lot of that dip - but I tried my hardest!
My mom ordered the same, but our roommate ordered the fried chicken, which I had a couple of bites of... definitely ordering that next time! So good! My aunt ordered the chicken nachos - and I'm pretty sure I've never seen a plate of nachos that big before, they literally covered a pizza pan!

I never know what to say about a place like The Well.  It is pretty much what I anticipate from a neighborhood bar that peaks at 11PM on a Saturday night when the weather is perfect and the rooftop is open and 21 is the median age of the patrons.  I don't expect the food to be all that good and don't expect much from the servers, either.  So, this place always meets my expectations.  If you live in the neighborhood, I would recommend going here around 3PM on a Saturday when the weather is perfect if you want to enjoy the rooftop with friends

We stopped in on a Sunday evening around 6ish.  The place was about 1/3 full.  Our waitress was OK, but something was just off with her but I don't know what.  The place is large and I'm not sure how to describe it.  Is it a restaurant, a bar, a sports bar?  I'm not sure.  There are lots of TV's tuned to sports but the menu isn't a typical bar menu.  Our food was all very good, so if you're going there to eat, yes, it's a good place to stop.  If you're going there for drinks or sports, yes, I guess that works too.

    Short and sweet....

Hands down the best Fish Tacos I have had to eat. Service was good prices were fair no complaints here. However I do not understand the 5 dollar cover on the weekends for no reason what so ever. The waitress couldn't even tell me what it was for, anyone?

    The Sunday brunch is legit.

    10-2pm - $15.99/adult

I thought the price was a bit steep - you don't even get a mimosa thrown in for free, but the food was hot and fresh so that made me feel better. Also, if our server was on point, I would have gladly given 5 stars.

You've got your bloody mary bar, waffles, omelet bar, fruit, biscuits and gravy, pastries (croissants, monkey bread, etc), scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, potatoes, fruit...then a bit further down, you get your chicken strips, mashed potatoes, shrimp ravioli that is OUT of this world and veggies.

    I fell into comotose after...

Although I would rather avoid the Well on a weekend night, the weather was perfect for an outdoor happy hour and I found myself in Waldo. Why not, right? So my friend and I secured a table on the spacious deck and indulged in happy hour. Not only were the drink specials fantastic, but we scored a free order of spin dip when I checked in on Yelp. Sweet!  When it comes to a weeknight happy hour when the weather is gorgeous, I am unashamed to recommend the Well.

    Sunday Brunch 10-2pm

Bacon, Ham, Sausage, Waffles (with banana fosters syrup!), Omelet Bar, Seafood Ravioli, Chicken Tenders, Mashed Potatoes, and a ton of sweets.

I don't remember seeing biscuits.  I better go back and check that out.

I spilled my tea on the table and the bill.

Didn't try the Bloody Mary bar...but they had one...and I saw a lot of mimosas being consumed... still a lot of kids about.

    Really good food.

If you are looking for Sunday brunch This is honestly the VERY best brunch buffet i have had in Kansas City.  It easily beats any casino or any golden corral-esqe buffet as far as quality and taste.  The Well may lack in breath (there was not much fresh fruit and veg selection)  but the taste of EVERYTHING was amazing.

Usually at a buffet you take a lot of stuff, but 1/2 of it is gross, or doesn't taste right, or is stale.  This place's food was hot and fresh.  There was a start of breads and muffins... croissants, monkey bread, and a couple types of coffee cake with 4 jellies to choose from.  Some great biscuits and gravy followed.  I am usually a HUGE fan of this Midwestern delight stick to your ribs home food, and the Well's version did not disappoint.  The gravy was slight spicy, and the perfect consistency.  the biscuits were fluffy, and broke in half easily.

They not only had bacon, the same sausage that gave the gravy that great flavor and ham, but there was also fresh fried chicken and  ribs (with 3 sauces to choose from for the chicken and the ribs).  They had seafood pasta,  2 types of potatoes,  and fluffy eggs.  There was also a vegetable medley.   The ribs were amazing.   I also really suggest the pasta, though it cold be a tad spicy for some.

Their omelet maker knew what he was doing.....a smoked shrimp and salmon omelets with feta?  yes please!  They also had sharp Wisconsin cheddar among the usual fare.  Mushrooms, spinach, you name it you could pretty much have it in the omelets.

Nearby there was Belgium waffles with bananas foster sauces, warm strawberry sauce, and your basic maple as well as whipped cream and butter.   They had amazing panna cotta, great bread pudding and delicate lemon bars.  I found the brownies a bit much.  There was also some fresh fruit and cole slaw, as well as pickles and olives on ice.  They also offered yogurt and granola.

we dont drink but there was a bloody mary bar as well as mimosas for those that partake.

Also a shout out to the staff there.  our waitress was super attentive, and dealt with our very large rotating table of 7-12 well.

The ONLY downsides would be 1. lack of veggies.   and 2.  the croissants and danish were just average.  EVERYTHING else was amazing, and i will be back.

My husband and I stumbled upon The Well tonight on our date night.  What a nice find!  We will be back with friends and will try the upstairs patio.  I was a tad put off by how dark it was at the table, we could hardly read the menu.  But we squinted through and ordered the salmon dip to start along with tomato Basil soup and new England clam chowder.  The salmon dip was awesome but the soups were okay.  My husband's dad is from New England ...and he knows chowder.

I chose chicken fried chicken while hubby went for the grouper special of the day.  My chicken was very flavorful and juicy, but the white gravy needed more seasoning because it was bland.  Grouper was really good.  We will be back!!

After my first review, The Well management graciously reached out to me with an apology and invitation back. So I headed back last night with a couple friends, headed upstairs to the rooftop patio (zipped up in a plastic tent to keep out the wind), sat at a table with a mini fire pit, and ordered a round of the elusive Boulevard Chocolate Ale.

I was living in Florida during last year's Chocolate Ale-mageddon, and I admit I scoffed at my friends' tweets and facebook raves. Chocolate beer? Gross. Well, now I'm eating my words on both the beer and this Waldo establishment.

This beer is delicious. I also ordered a burger, which was good, but I prefer a patty with a larger diameter than the bun. When we ordered another round of the Chocolate Ale, our server informed us that they had run out. I resigned myself to savoring my last sip... when she came back and said that a last-minute delivery was arriving! If we hung around another 15 minutes, we could get more Chocolate Ale. AWESOME SERVICE.

So, it might be the glow from the firepit and the above-average temps, or the crazy high alcohol content of this special brew, but I'm bumping The Well to 4 stars, and I will definitely return.

Went for lunch with a friend...the food was okay, but just okay...and VERY salty. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. The chicken was soggy-ish and barely warm. The fries were good but could've used another minute in the fryer and sooo salty. My friend had the shrimp pasta which looked a little skimpy on the shrimp and was confirmed to be salty as well. This comes from someone who usually has to salt everything. And for lunch, everything seemed a little pricey (the pasta was $14). I don't think I'd go again.

Ya know, Yelp, this place IS in Waldo. I mean, I had a lot to drink, but it's pretty hard to mix the two up. Why must you claim it's in the Plaza?

Anywho, I have only been here for drinks...and weekend day drinks at that. However, I definitely like this place. All of the open air spaces to sit are fantastic, but the inside is just as nice, and both have always seemed mighty clean considering the debauchery that often goes down in Waldo drinking spots. Service has always been really friendly, and the drinks chilly and well mixed. Prices seem fair, but if you can get a drink special it's even better.

Cannot comment on the food, though.

    Two words: ROOFTOP PATIO.

I seriously love The Well more and more each time I visit. I had a great Friday night spent on their rooftop patio.

Sure, some of the popped collared dudes are a little questionable, but overall, I think it's a great crowd and a casual, good time bar.

With this ideal weather lately, now would be a perfect time to get yourself to The Well and grab a table upstairs on their patio.

My boyfriend and I went to The Well on a Friday around 730 and the place was already packed. We went with a large group (about 14 or 15 people) and our waitress was great-- very friendly and not at all phased by the somewhat rowdy group taking up four tables.

Drinks: They had a HUGE selection of beers and cocktails. My cocktail was not what I was expecting so I'm not sure if I disliked it because of that or if it just wasn't very good but they had plenty of others that looked amazing and other members of my party seemed to enjoy. As far as beer went it was good that they had a large selection because it seemed that anything anyone at my table wanted to try they were out of. That being said, the beer people did end up with was great.

Food: Our food came quickly (especially for such a large party) and in very large portions. My chicken sandwich (the Metro Chicken Sandwich, I think) was HUGE, overlapping the sides of the delicious egg roll. The boyfriend's buffalo chicken salad was amaaaaazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes buffalo chicken. Also, the fries were fantastic!

Decor: I'm a sucked for a dark lit, small bar type atmosphere. It's certainly nothing fancy but was great for a low-key night out. They have a lot of outdoor seating that looked like it would be very enjoyable had the weather cooperated better.

Overall: I left very satisfied with my Well experience and definitely plan to come back and try it out again.

This is a bit of a trendy bar, better suited to a younger crowd or for happy hour.  I love the roof top area anytime for drinks only but ONLY FOR DRINKS.  See  the low down on the food and service below.

The service is really bad.  Always is, every time we have been there and the waitresses are generally rude and incompetent!  Parking is always an issue as there is never enough.  The food  is average - on a good night.  Lunch is generally better-so stick to hamburgers and sandwiches.

In the summer the A/C is set to freezing, so if you are sitting inside, bring a jacket??  The music is always WAY TOO LOUD, even for a bar on Friday and Saturday nights.  Its CLUB sound/audio level???  Too obnoxious for a nice dinner on a Friday or Saturday night.

Its a fun bar, but it could be a great restaurant with some work on these issues.  Seems like the owner/s have put more into the exterior and finish materials than the most important details:  the food and service!

It's times like these where I wish half stars were available on Yelp. I can't bring myself to say that I'm a fan of The Well. Only because it's not on the top of my list of places to go when I'm hongray. But I've recommended it before, I do love the ambience and if I end up there, I'm not ticked off about it.

Regardless, I've given the place another go or two. My most notable try was the fish and chips ... they were really tasty. The fish needed a few shakes of salt, but then again I'd probably salt a plate of salt lick, so take that tip for what its worth. I really do love sitting on the rooftop on a nice day, and the beer selection always has me pleased. I've come to really appreciate The Well's menu versatility, so I do consider it when I have no idea what I'm in the mood for.

I've bumped my rating up a star, but keep in mind that it'd be 3.5 if I had all the power of the Yelp Star Ratings in my hand.

I stumbled in around 11:30 pm, pissed in meanings applicable on both sides of The Pond.

This was the last stop on my buddy's birthday pub crawl,  and he was about to meet a special someone around midnight.  I was just keeping him company until she arrived---and what better to do that with than a half-off specialty drink.

Apparently, on Tuesday night, specialty drinks are half price.  That's right, I had two hand-made mojitos (a little heavy on the simple syrup) for $6 total.

And I don't even drink mojitos----but from my quick read of the menu, it looked to be the only option that didn't feature pink, blue or orange.

I chased the mojitios with some Jimmy Johns.  God bless Wornall.

    What I like:

    1. They have Magner's on tap!!!! This is the only place I have found in KC with Magner's cider. I'm not even much of a cider person generally, but if I'm going to have it this is what I will drink.

    2. Magner's is cheap during happy hours!!!

    3. I like the back patio a lot.

What I don't like so much:

    1. I want to like the rooftop patio, but I find it crowded and intimidating. This is the reason why I pointed out the back patio as something I liked.

    2. I have been underwhelmed by most of the food. I had a tomato/basil salad this summer on special that was good, but most other things left something to be desired. The spinach/artichoke dip was especially bland. (To be fair, my husband can't get enough of the Mayor Betty's Chicken Salad.)

    3. Friday and Saturday nights the crowd is a little much, but I'm almost out of my 20s and definitely not looking for action outside of the guy I bring with me everywhere.

The Well has an amazing patio. It is a great after work place.

I agree with most the reviews that The Well has an identity crisis. It's a bar that's atmosphere is desperately needing a dance floor. I went their for New Years and it was by far the best NYE place I've attended. The food was great, they had a dance floor down stairs and up on the patio. It's too bad they can't be that bar every weekend.

I live in Waldo, and I don't understand the reviews that say the food is good. I would say average and extremely overpriced due to the lack of quality. If you want good bar food, go to Kennedy's around the corner on 75th.

My main place that makes me stay away from this bar is they are extremely pushy at close. When the clock says 1am, that is 30 minutes for me to walk the 5 feet to the door. I'm already walking, your bouncer does not, nor should be feel it's okay to push me. Every time I've been there I've been pushed by a bouncer. I've worked in retail, I understand leaving when the place is closed but do not have last call and then start actually pushing me out the door. I've never left that bar later then 1:15 (bar time) , giving them a whole 15 minutes to have everyone out. Go there early, but don't be there are last call.

Where am I? A club? A frat party? A sports bar? Nope. I'm at The Well, a really cool bar with an identity crisis. Sure they have the best patio in south KC, but I get the feeling that The Well tries to be too many things to too many people. It's got a great roof top patio, but the music is always blaring. Forget about a good bar for a date. The music level suggests there should be a dance floor somewhere, but there is no dance floor to be found. I had to resort to busting a move on the rooftop patio in a dark isolated corner. Damn shame.  During the evening the bar suits me better but I try to head out by 10 before the scene starts to look like The Hills. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool place; I just prefer hearing my wife and friends when we are out bar hopping. Other than that I got no beef with The Well.

However, for Tuesday night NBA games it's great except for bad drink specials. I mean there are no beer specials on Tuesdays!  Really? WTF guys.

If you are looking for a place to grab drinks with friends in the Brookside or Waldo area, The Well is a great place to hang out.  It's especially awesome if the weather is nice and you can enjoy the rooftop deck or the back patio.  The drinks aren't the strongest drinks I have ever received at a bar but I have had worse.

I can't speak about the food, but from what I have been told, it's typical bar food (read:  if you are intoxicated, it will taste amazing).  The service I have received has always been great; the servers are attentive and strive to keep glasses filled.

If you ever attend a Waldo Pub Crawl, you will, no doubt, hit The Well and chances are you won't want to leave.  It's a must stop for St. Patrick's Day too!

The only negative I will give the bar is the degree of douchebaggery that you will encounter when you are at the bar.  Because of the outdoor spaces and good drinks, you will definitely run into a few of "those guys" - so beware.

Strictly speaking for one of those weekend nights where you know you are in it to win it, I love The Well.

I went here last night for a friend's birthday and we claimed a spot for large birthday crowd in the back corner of the patio. It was a lovely summer night and the rooftop breeze put everybody in a fabulous mood. It was really crowded as it was a Saturday night, but it somehow didn't feel claustrophobic where you had to fight your way to the bar. I enjoyed that. The drinks were decent and the prices were not that expensive in my opinion. $3.50 for a vodka soda.

Sure it's that kind of place where promo girls come around with free shots and glow sticks, but like I said, I was here for a birthday so we were into it.

The bartenders were good and pretty attentive considering the hoards of people. The table service wasn't as great, just OK.

The music was alarmingly enjoyable. It was like all the decent, non-annoying top 40 type songs from the last five years. Top 40 isn't necessarily my favorite music, but it's the kind of bar where you can appreciate that everyone knows the words. This is a mainstream bar good for serious nights out and party crowds on the weekends. I don't know what it's like on the week days, but if you're in it to win it, you'll win it at The Well.

This bar has some serious curb appeal. By that I mean, it is constantly referred to as the "fire bar" by myself and many of my friends because of it's stylish tabletop fire pits and tiki like fire posts. I don't care for the inside so much and it's often crowded with 30somethings hanging out watching whatever is on the large TVs so the roof is my favorite spot.
I love, love, love the mojito's here, really best I've had. Just the right amount of sweet and minty, yum!
I'm not sure if I would have even spotted the bar without the fire on the roof since it's on a side street in Waldo and if you don't live in the neighborhood you might not pass it otherwise.
The lack of parking in Waldo is sort of a pain, but the bar is always lively, the prices aren't terrible and the roof in nice weather is awesome.

Went with some friends on a warm and windy Saturday afternoon, 4/17, to the patio upstairs. Not much of a crowd, but that is fine with me. At night, the place is rocking.

Service was prompt, but the kitchen was slow. I had the Chicken Buffalo Dip to start; not much chicken (definitely not chucks of chicken), but the cheese sauce was tasty. My friend started with the wings; they were spicy and above average. Two of us ordered the Metro Chicken Sandwich, wow. Very good and huge portion. The seasoned fries were hot and delicious. My friend had the veggies with his sandwich, and he ate them all. Good boy. My other friend ordered the special (sliders with mashed potatoes and gravy). It looked good, but he could eat the potatoes... and didn't want to comment any further. So I take it wasn't good.

The owner was hanging out, the staff was very friendly, and the warm sun on the deck was great. Now in August...it might be a little too warm.

They were setting up the plants on the patio for the season.  ALSO there is an outdoor pool table.

In a way, I feel sort of bad giving The Well only 3 stars---it really is a nice place and, generally, the service is good.  The food is decent, nothing spectacular, and the drinks are fine.  I guess.  Actually, I take that back.

So, if you're ordering beer, it is ok; prices aren't cheap but about what you'd expect.  Except for Tank 7.  Yes, The Well has Tank 7 on tap, which is a plus.  But, it charges $8.50 a pint for Tank 7, which is definitely a negative.  Come on, a 750 ml bottle (which contains just under 2 pints) is only $7.50 at the store.  And The Well is buying it by the keg.  Not sure why they really need a 100%+ markup on it, but there it is, and it definitely qualifies as a party foul.

I also ordered a Manhattan here one time and, while made properly, I failed to order a call, so I got the well version.  Whatever swill they use as a well bourbon could peel paint.  I made it about halfway through before I had to stop to save my stomach lining.  It was still cheaper than Tank 7 though.

As far as food goes, it is mostly classier bar food.  The nachos are tasty and huge, and the chicken strips are decent, if nothing to write home about.

The bar itself is huge and has lots of tvs, making it a cool place to catch a game.  During the week, it really isn't a bad place to hang out with friends.  It is busy but not too busy.  Where it gets annoying are after work and weekends when the weather is nice.  People pack this place, and then it just gets uncomfortable.  Sort of d-bag central on the weekends, but they're an ok bunch.

Be aware that parking can be a challenge.  With Waldo Pizza and Tanner's next door, the parking lot fills up quickly, as does the street parking.  I often end up parking a couple of blocks away in the residential neighborhood, just to get a few after work drinks.  It isn't that bad, but be prepared to drive around a bit finding a spot.

I agree that the Well serves better than average bar food, I've enjoyed each of my meals there. But the whole rooftop scene is just kind of annoying. I couldn't believe how loud it was under that tent which was not helped any by the horrible deep-voice "modern rock" crap they played overhead. I have encountered worse crowds but these folks are definitely douche-lite. Also, get off my lawn.

The servers, of course, are all very young women. Unfortunately, they don't know how to wait tables. I have never had to wait so much in my life to get service, to get a drink, to get the check. It seems that the servers just sort-of tag team the roof while also working tables downstairs. If they get caught down there for a while, you may not see them for 20 minutes. Some folks sat down next to us and waited easily that long to get service, even though they were holding menus (that they fetched themselves from the bar).

I like the food, the view, and the drinks are alcoholic but from now on I'll eat inside.

It might get better, but I doubt it.

    Overcrowded... especially in summer.
    Too loud.
Guys trolling for girls... pathetic. More like trolling for an STD. One should not drink and... well... you know.

I have tried the food and I never will. Who would eat where you can't even hear?

It would have received only 1 star, but it gets 2 for "el nido," or the rooftop nest that is nice. But that may collapse under the weight of the BS you have to swim through to even GET there.

I gave this place two chances, just in case the good sandwich I had the first time was a fluke. It seems that it was not a fluke, so I feel safe awarding The Well four stars.

Food-wise: I've had the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato and the chicken strips. I've tried bites of the burger, the fish and chips, and the French dip. I would order any of these things again. The grilled cheese is perfect for a day when you're feeling a bit fragile and in need of something that makes you feel twelve again - and really, what's more comforting than a grilled-cheese sandwich with BACON? Nothing - absolutely nothing.

The burger is a pretty standard restaurant burger, nothing to rave about, but not bad either. Fish and chips are fatty and delicious, and come with coleslaw. The fruit salad that's offered as a side here was a pleasant surprise - it's grapes, fresh (not canned!) pineapple, and strawberries, instead of the cantaloupe/honeydew mix that usually passes as restaurant fruit salad.

The upstairs deck is fantastic, making this my new warm-weather go-to. I'm docking a star for the noise level inside - if you're there for the game that day, you'll be perfectly happy, but it's a bit tough to just chat.

I know the first three reviewers used the term "regular bar food" to describe the food at the Well, but I'm not sure that quite does it justice. They add in enough little touches that I'd describe it more as "bar food done well."

For example, I absolutely love the sliders, which come on fresh yeasty rolls instead of your standard white bread buns. I've also had the reuben, cheeseburger soup and turkey wrap, which were all less greasy and better tasting than at your standard bar --and the food tastes that much better when I can find a rooftop table on a nice sunny day.

In the area visiting a friend and we made our way to The Well, which by the way needs to change its name to "The Rooftop Bar" since that is what everyone calls it and when they refer to it as "The Well" no one knows where to go...

Anyway, it was a beautiful space and had an amazing Roof Deck and bar upstairs.  I loved it here....
