Is it just me, or is this more of a redneck get-together? It made me extremely uncomfortable how obnoxious, inconsiderate, and rambunctious the crowd was, and I'm pretty sure the majority of them are at least in their late 20s. I like that I don't really see college kids (even though I, myself, am one too but I get frequently annoyed with the college crowd) and the whole TV at every booth is kinda cool too, although rather distracting.
I came here just to play pool and have a beer but just couldn't stay long. The impression I got from the people HERE was that they are Springfield/Roseburg locals who think driving the extra mile to Eugene is almost like seeing Chicago for the first time for them.
Maybe Fridays aren't a good day to come here. Someone played Nickelback here. How much worse can it get?
When we head out for an evening, we dont normally hit up Wetlands, but this last Saturday, this is where we ended up. Â I've been here quite a few times since living in Eugene, for some reason I can't really groove with this place.
The one major plus side is they have a great selection of brewha's on tap. Â They offer Boneyard IPA on tap which is one of my favorite IPA's. They also roll with Ninkasi's IPA and HUB IPA also. Â The only downer was that the Boneyard IPA was flat. Â
The group I was with ordered food, but I didn't dive into it...I was too busy sippin' my flat Boneyard. Â I did end up making the switch to Whisky and 7 due to the lack of carbonation.
The crew behind the bar did a great job of getting everyone taken care of quickly, and stayed up on the tables making sure everyone was taken care of. Â I like it when bartenders pay attention to more than just the bar. Â Realizing that they have customers sitting at tables is just as important as taking care of the folks who are bellyed up!
From what I hear, this place is really fun to go to for UFC fights, and major sporting events. Â Super Bowl, Duck Games, World Series etc...Yes I catagorized Duck Football as a Major Sporting Event!
I dont want to completely count this place out yet....especially since we are out west and this is about a 10 minute drive from the new pad.

I'm torn on this review. On one hand, I always enjoy my time at this five star dive bar. On the other hand, some of the girls only have one.
This is a great bar to go to if you like cheap drinks, delicious food, and 55 year old retired truck drivers. Â The atmosphere is a bit tap-out ish and their are a vast plethora of method men (think about it).
The patio is pretty open and awesome and smoker friendly, which is a
Plus, especially for the method men.
Great food, friendly staff, great place to watch a game. The steamer clams are awesome, especially if you sub pita bread for the garlic bread. They have great daily specials, a $3 breakfast until noon, a daily $3 micro brew and a strong pour. They also have individual TVs at each booth for your sport-viewing convenience, outdoor seating, a large variety of taps and a generously sized video poker section (which isn't my thing but people seem to dig it). Another big plus for me? Staff and customers alike are always very sweet to my service dog, which is not always the case when that service dog also happens to be a pit bull.
Review Source:On thanksgiving night, looking for a place to get a drink with friends:
Me: what time do you guys close tonight?
Bartender: the usual
Me: what time is that?
Bartender: U know??? *rolls her eyes & sighs*....230am
Thanks! If I want pretentiousness to the max, I'll definitely come here again! :-(
Admittedly, I've been here once before and had a decent drink with friends, but this recent exchange was uncalled for!
I am not The Wetlands' target customer, but it's close to home and casual; two endearing qualities in my book. Â I have been here all different times of day and night and I am pretty sure I have delt with most of the servers. There's a male bartender, he has told me his name every time I have asked, and I still can't recall; so there's that. Â He has dark hair, is kinda' young and very attentive, curses during games when his favorite team is behind (not in an offensive way, well the WORDS are but he does it in a joking manner and he's smile-y and nice...its actually fun to watch and listen, just not for the faint of heart.) He is my favorite server. Â Rebecca is a good server, too. Â Everyone else pretty much sucks. Â Do not come in and sit at a table and expect to be greeted or handed a menu within the first ten minutes of arrival. Â It's not gonna' happen. Â If you have any hope of being served in a timely fashion it must be done at the counter. Â That being said, if you do go there for a meal, and you should, I highly recommend the club sandwich. Â The food is not fancy (typical bar food, kicked up a notch) but it's good and there's plenty of it. Â They have a good selection of local beers as well. Â The female bartenders do what I affectionately call the "straw test" with the mixed drinks they make, where you put a straw in the beverage and seal the top and pull the straw out and drink from the end of the straw (I am probably not explaining that with enough detail) anyways, it's an odd practice and they all do it. Â I am not sure if they're insecure about the drinks they're making or catching micro mini nips all night, either way it's off-putting (but I don't order mixed drinks, so I don't suffer sloppy seconds of my order) first server that straw tests my Ninkasi is gonna suffer my wrath, that's all I'm sayin. Â I am sure it's hygienic and I have never seen a customer complain (even when the bartender has said, "that's good" after sampling their latest concoction) but if I witnessed that going on with my drink, I'd bark. Â Anyways, don't go on a Friday or Saturday night unless you're into college crowds and loud music, then by all means; this is the place. Â It's been a long time since I smoked, they used to have pool tables outside so you can smoke and shoot pool - very nice, Â not sure if they still do. Â I was just there and forgot to look and see. Â There is a fairly large covered patio with tvs and heaters for the smoking crowd. Â Overall, it's ok and everything is pretty consistent from day to day.
