The Davis Restaurant & Bar

It's confusing as to why Davis isn't more packed and popular. Davis has a quality happy hour with fine cocktails for $4, and a quality burger and brew special. I normally opt for a la carte and appetizers. But, everything I have had so far is on par with top quality Eugene cuisine.

I tend to sit at the bar where the service has always been excellent.

In terms of price vs. quality that you get at Davis, I think this is hands down one of the best deals in town.

The owner allowed us to break in their VIP section after the club had been recently remodeled for a joint birthday celebration.  Our group got the VIP treatment and were very well taken care of.  We were right next to the DJ booth, had a red velvet rope, and given ice buckets for our champagne.  

Security was very attentive and didn't let random people not in our group over to our area.  The DJ, ReddFox, played great music that was fun to dance to.  Chris the bartender made sure that we had a great time and had everything we needed.  He really sold us on this place and gave great customer service.

While Eugene doesn't have the most amazing nightlife, Davis is a nice surprise.  If I ever want to have an event in Eugene where drinking and dancing are involved, I will go here.

I've had a series of less than stellar encounters with this restaurant, but the one that takes the cake happened last Thursday. I used to love Davis for happy hour, so we called ahead to see how late it went.

We get there early and grab a seat and they tell  us, oh sorry, no happy hour menu because we are "rearranging things." Determined to have a good time we ask if they could just knock off a couple of bucks on the appetizers and drinks since we came for happy hour. The waitress runs off to check while we sit and wait. This process takes so long she returned with a "sorry, but it's after happy hour time." You've got to be kidding me. WORST.
