John Henry's

This place is horrible. The owner's ruined the place. Bands won't play there. The burlesque show left. Everything about this place has changed. Unfortunately it isn't the same.

The new owners are complete douchebags. This used to be an amazing place to go for rock and roll, burlesque, GLAM, underground hip hop, suspensions and all around delicious alternative Eugene culture. I have seen so many incredible shows here.

My brother in law worked here for 10 years. He was by far the BEST bartender in town and killed it hosting Sunday Burlesque nights. They fired him 2 days after he got back from his wedding to my beautiful sister. They did not even have the guts to do it to his face...he found out on FACEBOOK! This is after 10 years of his blood, sweat and tears going in to this place.

The new owners showed absolutely no honor or respect. The fired the whole crew that made this place legendary. Yes it was dirty, yes it was tough, yes the staff did not kiss your ass.... It's what made this bar special in a sea of sports bars and stupid frat hangouts. It was rock n roll baby!

I have been going to John Henry's for more than 10 years. I sadly will never walk through those doors again.  

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE! The ghost of rock and roll past will haunt the new owners forever.

This place is the best for dancing in Eugene, usually pretty decent DJs and music selection.  They also have some good drink specials.  

It is across the street from Cowfish - so you can easily bounce back and forth if you like that sort of thing.  (Cowfish has awesome drink specials before 10:30 pm)

The place is usually dark, dirty and packed.
