Delicious
Long wait but I'd say it's worth it. I had a veggie omelette with crispy hash browns. I liked that the omelette came with asparagus and broccoli, was a good combination. Upgraded my side pancakes to the special fig and walnut pancakes for only $1. Pretty good but a little dry. Portions are huuuuuggeee. Other people at the table ordered various omelets and skillets and all seemed extremely satisfied.
While doing research for activities to do on our short trip to Chicago I saw Wildberry Cafe recommended on a few websites and the yelp rating was pretty good so we decided to give it a try. Â So glad we did because brunch was delicious! Â
The duck confit hash special was quite tasty.
Corned beef and hash was really good too.  It comes with either fruit or hash browns, and either  pancakes or toast. Â
The best thing out of our meal hands down was the signature berry bliss pancakes: "Buttery Pancakes Stuffed with Fresh Maine Blueberries & Layered with Wildberry Mascarpone. Topped with Fresh Blackberries, Strawberries, Vanilla Cream Anglaise and a Fresh Blackberry Coulis." Â It wasn't overly sweet despite a dusting of sugar on top. Â I'm generally not a pancakes lover but this place makes the list of top 3 pancake places ever for me (next to Harry's Roadhouse in NM and Clinton Street bakery in NY).
Tips:
- These are definitely huge American sized portions at Wildberry so come hungry or be prepared to doggie bag.
- They won Best Pancake in Chicago (don't remember the details but it was advertised on the back of one of their menus) so if you're having a hard time deciding, definitely go for the pancakes.
- Go for the $1 upgrade to special pancakes with your meal. Â One of the best upgrade decisions you'll ever make - Â promise!
Wish I could bring this place back with me to NY so that I could try all the other types of pancakes they offer! Â Next time when i'm in town i'll try the Tiramisu or Oreo S'mores pancakes.
WOW. Â just wow. Â slap me and fuck me sideways. Â i left full and speechless. Â
I am seriously considering flying back to chi-town and going here and then flying back. Â this place is THAT good.
a breakfast place that makes you wait 45 mins.... you know this place means business. Â i almost wanted to walk away and find a different place to eat... so glad i didn't!
if you do not know what to get, i will help you. Â just shut up and listen to me.
start off with coffee/orange juice. Â then.
Espanola
Spice up your Morning with this Combo of Chorizo, Jalapeño Peppers, Avocado, Onions, Cilantro, Mushrooms & Chihuahua Cheese, Atop of a Tortilla. Served with Salsa.
WOW. Â did i just eat magic or something?! Â this was mexican heaven on a plate. Â everything worked perfectly together. Â god damn, just writing this review makes me crave for it. Â it also comes with fruits / grits / or hashbrowns.
PAY EXTRA FOR THE specialty pancake upgrade. Â TRUSTTTT. Â its so worth it.
get the below.
WB Signature "Berry Bliss" Pancakes
Buttery Pancakes Stuffed with Fresh Maine Blueberries & Layered with Wildberry Mascarpone. Topped with Fresh Blackberries, Strawberries, Vanilla Cream Anglaise & a
Fresh Blackberry Coulis.
I swear on abe Lincoln grave, you will NOT find a better pancake than the one listed above. Â i would seriously just sell my soul for a lifetime supply of the berry bliss. Â its that good.... Â i'm having withdraws now. Â :(
I wished they moved or franchised it over to california. Â :c
Stop the presses, this is it!  If you are looking for the perfect breakfast in Chicago, where  serving sizes are a plus, and prices are slim. Heck, I think I gained 5 pounds just reading the menu. Nevertheless, I pulled back my fork and dove into the best omelette I have eaten in a long while, the Fresca. My girlfriend enjoyed the Berry Bliss Pancakes, while we didn't finish everything it wasn't because we didn't try. The food is INCREDIBLE, trust me you will not want to have breakfast anywhere else after one dining experience.
Review Source:To me this is kind of an odd place. I like the idea of breakfast/brunch but I guess the idea of going into a corporate building seems weird. Once inside, its familiar and nice. There are couples having a friendly lunch or business types moaning about their bosses and in general the setting was a good mix of people from Michigan Ave. tourists to Prudential Tower employees. I came for the food and I wasn't disappointed. The southern eggs Benedict was outstanding. The hash browns were excellent and the service was great. I had a large orange juice which was really good as well and I am putting this place on my short list of breakfast spots in the loop to stop in at regularly.
Review Source:Recently ate at Wildberry Cafe for the first time and really enjoyed it. Â We went at noon on a Saturday for a late breakfast/brunch. Â We had a group of 6, so we were able to call ahead. Â The place was PACKED and we still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but I expected to wait longer, given how busy it was. Â The service was good and the food was excellent. Â All 6 of us enjoyed our meals and said we would return. Â All in all, a really good breakfast spot that I would definitely recommend!
Review Source:Went in on a Saturday morning. Busy as expected but it was worth the 30 minute wait. (Although they said "around 15 minutes" when we asked initially.) The staff was super sweet, the portions were HUGE and the food was tasty. The corned beef hash isn't recommended... it came out overcooked but still edible. The fig and bacon omelette however, was DELICIOUS. I'd go back just for that... and their pancakes.
Review Source:Awesome breakfast in downtown Chicago which is not a greasy spoon diner - and for a reasonable price? Surely you jest!
Looked this up on my handy Yelp app and decided to try it out on our last morning in Chicago. Took the train and walked a couple of blocks south Wildberry which is in the first floor of the Prudential building if I'm not mistaken. Easy to find and we had no wait at around 8:30 on a weekday. It was busy but not packed.
We ordered coffee and (yay!) fresh-squeezed OJ. Auto-props for the fresh squeezed juice. Yum.
Our food: Biscuits and Gravy with a side of bacan and we tried the Chipolte Benedict.
Verdict: Amazing. Gravy had a bit of sweetness to it which was different but not too sweet. Very yummy. Bacon was high quality and actually worth the money you pay for it for a change. Crazy when you pay $3.50 for bacon and it's thin and nastified. This stuff was thick and not too fatty.
The Benedict was very good but not as spicy as I was expecting. Different and totally worth a try if you go the Wildberry. They also have lots of great -sounding pancake and french toast options. That's just not my thing.
Overall awesome spot with tons of things on the menu that I wanted in my belly.
Unfortunately my belly can only hold one breakfast at a time. We'll be back.
Wildberry is in a great location if you're out and about around Millennium Park, i.e., if you're a tourist. The good news is it isn't a bad breakfast spot. The portions are very generous, the coffee is actually very good (and strong), and the servers are usually very quick, even when the place is packed. The prices match the portion size and location, but they aren't outrageous.
I've had various skillets and egg dishes here and have been satisfied (and satiated!) each time. And if you're a sweet-breakfast fan, you will not be disappointed. Their pancake combinations are enormous and couldn't possibly leave you without diabetes. There is always a wait if you come around breakfast time on the weekend, but if you can make it here around 10:30 or 11:00 on a weekday (which I'm sure happens very often...), then you will have plenty of room to yourself. Have never been here for lunch, so I can speak about only breakfast.
Overall, a good spot if you have friends in town, a free morning, and/or a hangover and an empty stomach to fill. Well, maybe not the handover; the noise of the crowded mornings might be too much.
We live near here and I have been wanting to try it out forever! Last weekend we finally decided to do the 1 hour wait to eat here. I got nutella crepes with bananas. It was very good! But I don't think I will wait for an hour again. I love crepes and I don't know of many places that serve it so next time I'm craving crepes, I will probably do pick up. It was a one time thing to wait an hour.
Review Source:My friend had been wanting to bring me here the entire weekend, so when we finally went, I was not disappointed!
We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table (they don't take reservations), but luckily millennium park is right across the street!
We placed our order of tiramisu pancakes for me, berry French toast and hash browns for one friend, and a type of eggs Benedict for my other friend. I'm not a huge fan of berries but even still, the French toast was great and the hash browns were AWESOME. Even after I was full, I kept sneaking bites of it from my friends' plates.
Now, I ordered the tiramisu pancakes without realizing that I could have asked for a short stack. A tip, split this with your friends. They are THE MOST DELICIOUS pancakes ever but super heavy and I could not finish them.
Overall I enjoyed it and the waitress who brought us our food was the nicest lady ever!
We went here at 11am for breakfast. We order the fresca omelet which has dried tomato, avocado and chicken sausage. This dish comes with pancakes. We also ordered the red velvet french toast which surprisingly tastes exactly like red velvet cake!! The food is alright. We think Batter and Berries is a better place for breakfast given Batter and Berries tastes more like home made vs business run breakfast place.
The place is really crowded!!!
The front desk hostess lady is a little rude.
Great place for breakfast. Â Had the espanol omelette. Pretty good and huge portion. Tried the wife's florentine benny. It was delicious. Split an order of the signature berry bliss pancake. Probably the best pancakes I've ever had. Juice was fresh squeezed and everything was reasonably priced.
Review Source:Really good. I don't even like eggs that much, but once I discovered the Napa Valley Fig omelet, it became a Saturday ritual. Fluffy, delicious pancakes. Good portions and very reasonable prices. I've brought two sets of out-of-town guests to Wildberry twice and both times they loved it. I wish they kept longer hours, but I guess it's really just a brunch and lunch place. Cute inside and conveniently located across the street from Millennium Park. I recommend it.
Review Source:First time to Chicago and we really only had 48 hours, so we wanted to make sure that we ate the best of the best while we were there.
Saturday morning around 9am, got right in, and proceeded to have a mouth-watering breakfast with delicious lattes! My husband and I had the Corned Beef Benny and the Garden Skillet. The skillet decision was swayed by our waitress and I am so glad I did! The perfect combination of veggies, hashbrown, and I had a crepe instead of a pancake. The best of all worlds. My husband had the Corned Beef Benny and said it was delicious.
Sunday morning we were up to the task of finding a place to have breakfast. As we normally do before heading out, we look on trusty yelp to help us out. We had found another place, but still couldn't stop thinking about Wildberry. We said, if the concierge recommends Wildberry, we'll go back. We ask "Where would you recommend for breakfast?" The lady immediately blurts out "Wildberry". Okay! Decision made!
Sunday morning, about 10:30, we had a 45 minute wait. Totally worth it. We ordered the Napa Valley Omelet and the Mexicano Skillet, both of which were amazing. I think we both preferred the skillets, but everything was soooo good! Really just depends on the mood that you're in. Can't go wrong with anything! Huge breakfasts, and lattes for $30. THANK YOU!
Brunch is the most popular meal of the day. Breakfast and Lunch?!
It is very orderly. You get a buzzer and there is a bit waiting area within the building this cafe is in thus the people who are waiting are not disturbing the patrons. If you need a hit of caffeine you can order a cup of coffee or tea at this little stand by the entrance.
The place is pretty big with a lot of seating so we didn't have to wait long. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She gave us plates since we were sharing food and also additional toppings like ketchup, whipped cream, etc.
We ordered
Bliss Berry French Toast (Thick Cut Brioche Stacked with Wildberry Mascarpone, Fresh Blackberries, Strawberries and Blueberries. Topped with Vanilla Cream Anglaise & Blackberry Coulis.) - This was shared among two people. It was a good amount of food and just the right amount of sweetness. Yum! This would make a single person pretty full.
Red Velvet French Toast (Homemade Red Velvet Cake Dipped in our Special Batter & Loaded with Cream Cheese Frosting. Served with Whipped Butter & Warm Syrup.) - Our waitress said this was pretty sweet. It wasn't that sweet but it really does taste like red velvet. Never had anything like this before.
Since its brunch we had to have some hash browns. We ordered two sides for the three of us. One would have actually been enough since you get a lot. It was good but it'll be really sad if you mess up hash browns.
Nice bathrooms. ~ 3 stalls in the women's restroom
Definitely want to come here again
Went here for breakfast this morning. Our server was sweet. No problem with the service at all.
Had a Espanola Omelette with Sweet Potato Fries and Passionfruit lemonade.
Seriously spazzed for a few minutes because I saw nine different types of lemonades on their menu! Slightly disappointed at how sweet mine came out. I had to drink water in between sips to dilute it.
Omelette was super tasty, very fluffy and had good veggies in it. Rather shocked at a huge chunk of chorizo that was in there, but that was fine. Bagel that came with the omelette was pretty dry and sad. The hash browns were perfect!
Sweet potato fries were really good when they came out, but went stale fast. They need a better spicy mayo dipping sauce.
Overall, delish. There's room for improvement.
Oh, also rather annoyed that there was some food photography/videography going on right next to us as we were eating. You should do that off hours, Wildberry!
I don't know what they put in their batter but whatever it is, I was transported to pancake heaven.
First off, the wait is brutal; 45 minutes is quite some time, but it's the perfect time to work up some anticipation for the gooey goodness you're about to endure and make room (lots and lots of room) for crepes, pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and everything in between.
Although I'm not the biggest pancake fan and really need to be in the mood for that kind of sweetness, I knew I had to at least order a side of pancakes. Thank goodness I did. It was magical. For my main dish, I ordered The Garden Skillet which consists of what seems like a pound of potatoes, monterey jack and cheddar cheese, mushrooms, asparagus, spinach, onions, tomato, broccoli, and of course eggs (I opted for egg whites) and in lieu of toast, I ordered the Specialty Wildberry Pancakes. The skillet was good, but the pancakes were so much better... And I barely even like pancakes. If I could eat them every morning, I'd be chowing down on them in a heartbeat.
My friend ordered Two Eggs Any Style with a side of Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes which were just as tasty.
Totally going back for another round as soon as I recover from the plethora of pancake-y goodness I just endured. Next time, I'll opt for the Bliss Berry Crepes or succulent french toast! Tip of advice: skip the savory dishes and go straight for the sweets. I promise you'll be more than impressed.
Make sure to make a reservation!! The wait is pretty long if you don't, about a 30-45 minutes.
I had the Florence Benedict (just comes with hash browns), and the Espanola Omelette that comes with hash browns and toast or pancakes--you can substitute it for a specialty pancake for $1! I suggest that because it's another item to try. My substitute was the Wildberry Bliss pancakes (they give you 2 pancakes) .
My rating from best (recommended):
1) Espanola omelette
2) Wildberry bliss pancake
3) Florence Benedict
I voted the omelette number one because it was flavorful and different. I still felt light after eating it, and I like that i was able to substitute specially pancakes for $1 with this entree. I am not a big fan of eating out for pancakes because I always feel like they make it too heavy, but the wildberry bliss pancakes are so amazing..A must try!
I am not a local so I suggest if you arent either, to make a plan to share with someone else so you can try more things if you are just visiting.
The restaurant is big with many tables; they utilize the space well. Wildberry cafe is so popular, tables are always full. The waitress was nice, attentive, and honest about the food.
the quality is good, and they give large portions for your $, so it's definitely worth it. i would definitely come back here again if i was in Chicago.. but i am not a breakfast type of girl.
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this place. Â Its not open for long, but when it is, expect a wait. Â I swung by here on a whim with the recommendation of my trusty yelp app. Â Boy was a steered to the right place.
We had the veggie skillet as well as the nutella crepes and some coffee. Â All of which was really good. Â We really didnt see much of our waitress, other than to take our order, and to ask us if everything was ok, but I can't complain because we were otherwise well taken care of and it was in such a great location to our hotel and all of the Chicago downtown attractions that if I ever make it back to Chicago, I will swing in here again.
Came here with a party of 10, walked around Millennium Park for half an hour, and then got promptly seated.
Our group was quite hungover, and needed some delicious food immediately. We basically got one of everything from the breakfast menu, and devoured everything within 10 minutes.
Some things of note, their Belgian waffles are amaaaazing. Four giant pieces of sugared waffles, with fresh fruit, warm syrup and chocolate chips (you can request different toppings, so we went with chocolate chips and wildberries).
Their crepes were soft and light, with delicious strawberry glaze over it. Crepes are usually easy to make, but theirs were among the best I've had.
Their various sandwiches and paninis are good, but I'd stick to the more traditional breakfast foods, like their breakfast burrito and eggs benedict. Everything comes in huge servings with delicious sauces and seasoning. Â
Overall, one of the best breakfasts I've had.
Good value for $. Â Upgrade side dish for $1 and you have another set of breakfast.
Baked Potato Omelet -- love it. Â The only dish in town!
Berry Bliss Pancake -- comes as a side dish upgrade. Â Colorful!
Cinnamon Latte -- a generous mug.
Venue -- comfortable and inviting.
Service -- great! Â Gladly wraps the to-go for you.
Wildberry will make you a fine pancake and a fine eggs benedict of many sorts.
I found this spot via the ever trusty Yelp. Â There were many yelpers warning of long lines and longer waits. Â I expected an extended wait. Â However, my party of three did not have to wait longer than five minutes.
Once inside, the clean interior struck me as fresh and the outfits of the patrons inside as fresher. Â I suspect people were brunching during the morning after. Â There is no walk of shame when a couple bruches with tired but clearly present satisfaction. Â The satisfaction also arose from the food.
The pancakes were well made. Â Often poorly made pancakes will give me endless hiccups and burbs until I burst because the line chef thinks it clever to put in baking soda for fluff when in fact the chef meant to use baking powder. Â Such errors can lead to human volcanoes of hiccups and belches. Â Here, no such mistake was made and I enjoy a flapjack and my fellow patrons enjoyed well made eggs benedict.
The bill was also quite reasonable. Â I suspect the restaurant has excellent rent terms.
Ummm.. It has been FOUR months since I have eaten here? Not only does it mean that I am quite behind on m my reviews but I am an idiot.. This place has an amazing breakfast!. I am not picky about my breakfast as even a bad one is relatively good in my humble opinion. The food here just blew me away and all I had was some bacon and eggs! The breakfast was that memorable!
The restaurant is huge. We arrived there early and thankfully we beat the crowd to arrive. Even if we did arrive with the masses we would not have had to wait very long for a table. They turned them rather quickly but they never quite reached capacity it seems. There was always a table or two open. Despite the massive, cavernous seating area the restaurant was nicely decorated, clean and in good shape.
I am hankering for another breakfast here. I am thinking that I want to lean toward on of their delectable looking pancake treats of a breakfast! They use good quality ingredients and it shows. Despite using good ingredients and being right in the Loop, the prices are not outrageous as I thought they would be.
I had been feeling a little under the weather my entire trip in chi town and had trouble eating full meals... not the morning I visited Wildberry on Randolph.
Our server (Dustin) was friendly and I admired his style of checking on us to make sure the questions were positive leading: "Everything's Good right?" instead of "Is everything OK." I felt like he was the right amount of friendly and checked in on us the perfect number of times. Also, was able to pare down the menu for us with strong breakfast recommendations.
I had the Wildberry Signature "Berry Bliss" Pancakes:
Buttery Pancakes Stuffed with Fresh Maine Blueberries & Layered with Wildberry Mascarpone. Topped with Fresh Blackberries, Strawberries, Vanilla Cream Anglaise & a Fresh Blackberry Coulis.
F^&K me seriously!!!! I don't care I gotta swear here.... Marscapone cheese and berry coulis.... I mean I think this meal single handily cured me of my cold while simultaneously helping me to achieve a food-gasm. Do they deliver internationally?
To add, excellence to perfection, the layout and decor of this place was as expected for a breakfast stop, however I was just floored by every aspect of this location.
Future trips to Chicago are probable, but visits to WB are a for sure thing.
Thanks Dustin and WB for making me feel better and filling me up with breakfast TLC!
Had the pleasure of eating breakfast here twice during our Chicago stay. Food was great, service was friendly. We had the Florence Benedict, the Napa Valley Fig Omelette, the Breakfast Burrito and seasonal fruit.
Little things like real butter and hot syrup make the difference here. The coffee was hot, frequent and delish.
Come early or call for a res, this place gets packed on weekends.
This place came in handy when I was wanting breakfast on Thanksgiving. They were closing early like at 12pm and the place was bursting with people. I got my food within a reasonable amount of time and at a great price for the area. I got blueberry pancakes and eggs to go. I feel  sorry for the people who were waiting on a table. At one point I think they were turning away people. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Everything was fresh and warm when I tucked into it at the metra station. My only complaint was that the syrup was not house made it was Smuckers I think.
I made it back - had the Wildberry French Toast (yo! half-order makes me a fast fan, thank you!) and it was decadent but also somehow seemed light and healthy! Â Ever the fan of the oxymoron, perhaps there should be more on my plate next time. Â OK, I couldn't resist that line but I probably will indeed resist a full order since the half was perfectly satisfying to me. Also...great tip from our server - no need to load this plate with syrup...there is already a perfectly balanced flavor explosion as it is.
The restaurant was full up but it wasn't terribly noisy which I find delightful! Late morning light filtered in beautifully and it was a cozy little feast.
If you're willing to brave the suburbanites and tourists, this Millenium Park diner is well worth trying. Â It's over-hyped by the said out-of-towners, but still quite good.
Highlights:
- Berry Bliss Pancakes: Â I posted a pic b/c this was so amazing. Â It was more cake than pancake and so dang good.
- Mexicana Skillet: unimpressive chorizo, but the rest is nicely savory and spicy to hit the spot if you're craving a hefty breakfast
Lowlights:
- Tourists, suburbanites, and more tourists
- Volume level of the aforementioned (yes, you're new, but please don't scream across tables)
- Juice -- meh. Not worth the surcharge for dubiously "fresh" juice.
Wildberry Cafe was hopping on the Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving. The diners were a blend of travelers with suitcases, suburbanites visiting downtown, and downtown workers sneaking away for a brunch. I was here after a work meeting, and our server was super friendly with recommendations and service. I loved my Belgian waffle topped with delicious fresh blueberries. Other items enjoyed at our table were corned beef hash with eggs and potatoes, and omelet with fig and havarti cheese. Wildberry Cafe seems to have filled a void in the downtown dining scene.
Review Source:You'd think that there would be plenty of good breakfast joints in the Loop. I mean, we're no Wicker Park/Bucktown/Lincoln Park/Belmont, but we're still in one of the most vibrant and tourist-infested parts of the city, not the mention the heart of Chicago's business district. That said, I've been to plenty of hit or miss diners and restaurants. Wildberry is a hit, big time. It sucks that they're only open for breakfast and lunch. I'd totally have their brunch-y food for dinner any day.
I'm not saying that the food is revolutionary (it's not like the Girl & the Goat equivalent of breakfast, for example), but it IS damn good. We both ordered skillets when we came -- he had the Butcher's Block skillet (all meat) and I had the beef hash skillet. The portions were generous and substantial (but not overwhelming), and they were just so hearty and delicious. Order your eggs poached -- you won't be disappointed. With the skillet, you get a side of toast or pancakes. I say spring for the pancakes. I ordered the gluten-free kind, which they can substitute for the normal ones for $1.
They serve Intelligentsia coffee, too, which is always a plus. Even if you get the regular $2.50 coffee, it's still very good.
The atmosphere is open, warm, airy, bright, and just a comfortable place to be. The service is friendly and attentive. From the outside, it looks like an average-sized cafe, but the inside is surprisingly large.
We came the day after New Years at around 8 am and it wasn't full at all, but on the weekends the wait can be upwards of half an hour. I'd say it's worth it if you're looking for a reliably good late breakfast, especially since so many other similar restaurants are seriously overrated and overhyped. Wildberry is on the spot.
Upon entering the revolving doors, you'd think this place is smaller than it looks from the outside. I must say, i was totally surprised by how big this place is. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and fuzzy lol. The host was prompt and ready to seat the two of us quickly.
As we sat, looked over the menu and our waitress came. She seemed like an old fashioned country girl, kind and sweet with a southern accent. Attentive and gave us our space and checked up on us for drinks and all.
Food was awesome. I had the butchers block, which was a skillet that was served in an actual silver metal skillet and not your typical skillet plate that you could find at Denny's. It reminded me of Dale and his Bodega. That epi was from Top Chef Allstars if you didn't know. I also had a side of strawberry pancakes, which are to "die for". I'm asking God (no offense to those who don't believe in Him) fotr forgiveness as to how gluttonous i have been. My girlfriend had fresh glazed strawberry crepes. I had a bite. It was well balanced, not too sweet and not too heavy.. it was perfectly cooked. Each bite made her eyes roll back like how i... Let's save that for another topic.
The experience here was great for us. I recommend to anyone who is a foodie and loves breakfast at any time of the day.
Delicious, delicious, delicious! Went to Wildberry with friends last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed every minute from start to finish!
I "behaved" and ordered a veggie omelette (did I mention delicious?) while eyeballing my friends' waffles and pancakes... our food was excellent, our server was a doll (and made some great suggestions), and the price was *not* bad at all!
Forget a white Christmas, I'm dreaming of Wildberry Cafe! Seriously, so yummy! The restaurant seemed to be constantly packed from the time I was there but it was always kept clean, gorgeous, and had a surprisingly quick turnover so nobody was kept hungry for too long.
After we were quickly seated, a waitress came over within a few minutes and got us going. I started off with a Wildberry Orange Juice, which I think was actually a mixture of a few different juices- it was killer. When I explained my dilemma (the most delicious looking thing on the menu wasn't vegetarian) the waitress helped me make it vegetarian with even more delicious substitutions. I wound up with the Mexicana Skillet with black beans instead of chorizo- SO GOOD. Egg whites, jalapenos, black beans, hash browns, avocados. Yes. I'm seriously craving it right now. I could drive into the city just for that right now.
I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff ran it like a well oiled machine, food was delicious and tasted REAL- not frozen and fake. Everything was wonderful. I cannot wait to go back another time, but until then, I'll just brag to everyone and spread their good name across yelp!
I'm excited to add Wildberry to my very short list of better-than-good eateries in the loop/downtown area. Hooray!
Our party of two experienced no wait at ~10:30a on a Tuesday morning. The service was friendly and efficient throughout, and the food came out super quickly. The portions, as mentioned, are HUGE! I'm more of a savory than sweet kind of gal and went with the traditional eggs benedict- nothing to rave about but delicious! I love poached eggs and of course, hollandaise sauce is always rich and soulful (when done right- and it was). I particularly enjoyed the hash browns that came as a side- really, really good hash browns. YUM. My friend had the veggie omelet (which was the biggest omelet I've seen, holy cow) and loved it, plus the sides- hash browns and pancakes! Whew. What a meal.
A good alternative to Bongo Room in the South Loop.
This place was at the top the trip advisor restaurants for all of Chicago and it was conviently located for our site seeing plans on a Monday morning. Â I was expecting a greasy spoon where they give you heaps of Midwest style breakfast. Â But, this place looked nice. Â It was in a newer building and everything was clean. Â The food was excellent. Â We both had skillet meals with pancakes and they did everything right. Â The meat, especially the ham, was top quality. Â I have been to so many places where they give you cheap ham or lunch meat that this was a big treat.
Prices were reasonable and we didn't have a wait on a Monday morning about 9am.
Great location, great service, great food, great prices, great decor, great coffee bar, open on Sunday morning, close to millenium park a great way to pass the time so waiting 20 minutes is no big deal at all.
Has all of the usual breakfast items you would expect and a few surprises.
Overall. Â Great.
My gf and I fell in love with this place. So much so we hit it 2x for breakfast on a short trip to Chicago.
Everything on the menu sounds so damn good that it's tough to narrow down to 1 or 2 items. So we did the most feasible option, order a bunch of food and just go to town.
You cannot go wrong.
Skillets: Butcher Block and The Garden, must haves. They come with a side of flavored pancakes...opt for either the Tiramisu, Fig Walnut (not me, my gf's choice) or Berry Bliss.
French Toast: Bliss Berry...to die for.
Sides: Sausage is good.
Service: Good...attentive.
Prices: Very reasonable.
A must go if you are in Chicago...go a bit early to avoid waiting. ENJOY!
