Willard's is an incredibly friendly polace. A place where they make an effort to know you, and if you drink enough there, they keep a mug with your name engraved on it under the counter, just waiting for you to stop on in for a pint. With a rotating selection of beers (including some gluten free options for those of us who watch out for that sort of thing) it's a lovely little place! True, it's a bit small, but it gives it more of a homey atmosphere rather than making it feel cramped. During certain hours, it's nigh impossible to hear those you're there with, but you can just add to the din by shouting too... No one really seems to mind! And if you can't pick a drink from their massive selection, there's always the option of letting chance choose for you! And definitely go to the once a month keep the pint night!

Love this place! Best selection of craft beers in the area. Plus, they have a punch card, where every time you complete the card (40 beers, 40 punches) you win something.

If you like craft beer, go to Willard's. They have nothing but craft beer. Don't look for a Heineken or Budweiser or you might be shown the door! (I don't really know if they would do that, but they might give you a strange, quizzical look). The place could be a little bigger, but I have never really felt crowded here.

Willard's was the first true craft beer bar in Largo.  A welcome change, indeed.
The bar is a bit small and unfortunately, the city won't allow them outside seating.  The tap selection good.  The beers change on a regular basis, but no fast that you'll miss a keg if you don't go every 3rd day.

They like MMA and Hockey here, so that's generally what you'll find on the 2 TVs.  However, this doesn't quite have the sports bar atmosphere, thankfully.

The music is pretty quiet, but it's usually whatever the bartenders want to hear.  Lots of DKM, NOFX, and some older punk.  I dig this.

Service will vary.  The owner and his brother seem to do a much better job of refilling your glass then the other staff.  Your mileage may vary.  This place is generally populated with regulars.  Given the location, there's not as much walk-up traffic, but the folks are friendly and it's not difficult to fit in with the gang.

There's no kitchen, but you can bring in your own food or get some delivery.  Overall a nice place for a good beer.

    Beer Snobs REJOICE

They got beer, lots of beer, lots of beer you may have never heard of. Nice change of pace from your regular coors/miller/bud corporate giant independent beer murderering bars. lol

    FIGHT THE POWER MOTHAFUCKAZZ

Anyways its a nice little placce in a pretty boring part of town. If you live in Largo/Seminole this probably is or should be your spot. Not much in the way of food unless you want chips and salsa but who cares, that IPA will fill your belly..............yummmmmm

For sweet taps, this place really is as good as it gets. One of the top selections of specialty brews you will find anywhere in Tampa Bay. I love the color-coded classification method as well, makes it easy to pin down selections based on what you crave.

The staff ROCKS and will make you feel incredibly welcome, even if it's your first time. There are a LOT of regulars (this is the kind of place that grabs people's loyalty by the cajones)..but the regulars are all really cool.

I am sortof a regular (almost have my first card filled)...I especially love the "Keep the Pint Nights" they do every month or so. Just beware - those events get CRAZY. Jam packed.

No food served, but they partner with the pizza place a few doors down for hot grub as needed.

Love the selection.  Wish they had more than one cider out of the 40 taps but. Also love the fact that it's in largo. Finally some culture that doesn't have crap beer in the area

I miss this place! I was one of the lucky ones who found out about Willard's before their grand opening about two years ago and I thought I would never leave. Not only is the beer selection outstanding with 40 beers on tap and a bottle selection, the atmosphere can't be beat. Come here once and you're a regular. Whether you've been enjoying good beer for years or are just coming on to the scene, you can learn something new talking with the bartenders/owners not to mention your fellow patrons. And they will talk to you! Willard's became my home away from home and is the only thing in Largo I miss since moving.

If you're looking for a quiet, mellow beer experience head in earlier in the afternoon. Some weekday evenings and Friday and Saturdays can get busy (but don't worry, this doesn't mean service is slow!). They host great events from holiday parties and concerts to bake-offs and keep the pint nights.

If you like beer at all, this place is worth checking out. Ask your friends, one of them has probably been there already!

This pub has some great beers, no crap on tap. Over 40 different craft beers with no mainstream domestic in sight! Beers change occassionally and a black chalk board shows offerings and alcohol content. Get a frequent drinking card and try all the beers, you get your name on the wall of fame and maybe a teeshirt. You can buy chips and salsa (store bought brand) and a few other dips but nothing big. Order pizza next door if you're hungry. The place is small and can get loud but always worth an after work drink!

The beer is excellent. The taps and the bottle list--amazing. Let's start with that. I mean, that is why one goes to a tap house, isn't it? For the beer! So far I've tried Belhaven's Scotch Ale, Swamp Head's Wild Night, Harpoon Summer Beer, The Bruery's Orchard White, Ace Perry cider, and a root beer (because I was DD).
Why try so many different beers? Why not?! The guys at Willard's reward an open mind. They give repeat customers a card to punch off each brew they try--and there's a prize for completing a card!
Willard's has a great atmosphere. It's clean but dark, decorated with brewery signs, cool beer bottles, growlers, and other brewing paraphernalia. The music isn't thumping club bass or screeching twangy Southern rock. It's a great mix of bands you might remember from school, if you're about my age, and will like regardless of your generation.
The guys behind the bar are as awesome as the beers they serve--fun, friendly, attentive, and always willing to talk about the beers or offer a taste to help you decide. These guys know and love beer, and their enthusiasm is contagious. You'll try stuff you can't even pronounce, and more often than not you'll love it. I know I have.
Willard's is a Largo treasure, and definitely my new neighborhood bar.

Best brew pub you will ever find in a strip mall. 40 beers on tap. No crap on tap policy (don't come for a bud light). Only chips and dips but see Starkey pizza for food.

Went for breakfast. Had to wait with many others but it's obvious why people are willing to wait. One of the only places I've ever been where you can order a single chocolate chip pancake -- for fifty CENTS!  Their potato pancakes are fantastic -- I can't stop thinking about it. Service excellent, owner right there filling coffee cups and busing tables.  Such a great restaurant!

If you enjoy quality brew, this is the place to go. And if you have had few and get a case of the munchies theres a solid pizza joint a few doors down. Cheers!

It is pretty rare that new bars open up in Largo/Seminole. Much less one that I am actually excited about. It seems like any night out always involves a trip down to St. Pete, Dunedin, Clearwater, or Tampa. The Largo/Seminole area is pretty barren when it comes to someplace that isn't dive-y, a biker bar, or smoke-ridden. Luckily, Williards has opened and it succeeds in providing a welcome alternative.

The formula at Williard's is based off the recent craft, microbrew, import  craze which has led to places like The Independent, World of Beer, Dunedin House of Beer, and The Brew Garden becoming so popular. They have rotating selection of 40 specialty drafts available in a nice modern setting (I was able to pick out the use of Ikea high-tops and tables). Best of all the place is smoke free which is great because who wants to smell like an ashtray and wash everything they are wearing every time you go out. They offer a WoB-esque club where you get a card to punch out every time you try out one of many beers they have to offer and get your name on a plaque and also a t-shirt when you complete the task. The two owners were tending bar the night I went and they were both very personable and friendly. They were more than willing to pour samples since it is impossible to be familiar with every offering they have there so it is easy to explore the menu and find a new favorite. I had an excellent Belhaven Cream from Scotland and Tucher Hefeweizen from Germany. They also were carrying Magic Hat #9 from Vermont which is becoming more readily available in the area, but always makes me happy to see.

Another big plus was they played an awesome mix of music that evening which included a lot of punk rock which I was amazed to be hearing out in public.

The bar is in the same Starkey Road strip mall as the Golden Bear Breakfast restaurant and next to Bett's Fishing Center. It is definitely worth a visit, and I plan on returning soon.

They go by the slogan, "No crap on tap" and they live up to it. A nice smoke free environment where a person who enjoys tasting many beers on tap that you can't find at most establishments. They keep around 40 different brews on tap from over the country covering most of the different types of brew that you'd come to expect from a tap house (ie. lagers, stouts, IPA, etc.) The staff is very friendly and will happily assist you in selecting a beer based on your taste preferences. As a added bonus they offer a punch card that tracks all the different beers that you can try. Upon completion of the card you are awarded the honor of having your named engraved on a plaque on their wall that comes with a t-shirt honoring your accomplishment. A clever way to get you to try new things, I may add.

A word to the wise; monitor the alcohol content of the beers here. They are indicated on the chalk board behind the bar. If you're used to slamming back 6 or 7 brews at your local establishment before you begin to feel a buzz you're in for a surprise. Many of the craft beers on tap here are high in alcohol content, so know your limits.
