well for the most part ziggys is a alright place. great staff good drinks but they are slightly overpriced but they have a horrible time schedule. if u are going to a concert there dont expect to leave before 2am cause the main performer doesnt usaully start until around 1am so u have several hours to do nothing but drink and be bored
Review Source:Have been here a few times and enjoyed it every time. Went once with my friend in a wheelchair and they really catered to him and there was easy access for him to get all around. The only negative I have is that there isn't much parking and if you don't get there early your going to have to walk a long way.
Review Source:Wow! This place promoted an intimate club show with R Kelly and then when he appeared but did not in fact perform they are saying they did not promote that he was performing. This is underhanded and dishonest to your customers. I was originally glad to see Ziggy's return to Winston, but the town does not need an establishment that dupes it's clients and won't own up to it when they are called out. Deleting critical comments on your Facebook page instead of responding professionally is cowardly.
Needs better parking and security.
I wish I could give Ziggy's zero stars. Last night demonstrated how entirely unprofessional both the club's management and promoters are. They marketed an R Kelly performance, but he ultimately did not perform and simply sat on stage, smoking and drinking. When people complained, they defended by saying "we never explicitly stated he would perform" and refused refunds. The security guards were also completely out of hand, hauling away totally innocent people. Further, they were clearly serving under-aged college kids who could not hold their liquor.
Since when is Ziggy's an appearance, not a performance, club? They must have known from RK's contract that he would not sing; yet chose to withhold this information from the public, who paid from $35-$125 per ticket.
Horrible business practice. And management is being cowardly by not responding for comments to the news stations picking up on this, and also for deleting critical comments from their facebook page.
I will NEVER again set foot in this venue. They lied to their customers and ripped off hundreds of honest people last night. Unprofessional thieves.
I have to say that I LOVE this place. Â Truly a rare find in almost any city, but especially Winston Salem.
They have good sound quality and seem to cater to their clientele. Â You can pay for the shows grab a drink and hang out with Friends all while meeting new folks. Â Everyone here always seems so mellow and relaxed and I cant think of a time that I have witnessed a problem.
This place reminds me of The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Â If you have been there you will know what I am talking about. Â My favorite thing is that the restroom can accommodate multiple people so you are not waiting all day to use it and missing the show you paid for.
Great venue.  Really nice, open space for seeing live music and they book some good shows.  Decent bar, and plenty of bathroom space so you don't have to worry about waiting forever.  Only problems are lack of convenient parking that I felt safe with and the staff have shitty attitudes toward you, especially at the door.  Never understood why places hire people who aren't friendly to their customers.  Even bouncers should  be able to be friendly until they're given a reason not to be.
Review Source:I was at Ziggy's on Saturday night for Who's Bad: Â The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band. Â Ziggy's is a great venue. Â Sound quality is fantastic and drinks are reasonable. Â I like that they have a separate bar area if you don't want to pay for the show. Â It is especially nice during the Spring, Summer, Fall when they roll up the garage doors.
Looking forward to going back for another show.
Went Sat night for Fuhnetik Union and New Age of Radio. Â Parking was easy and relatively safe. Â The place was larger than it looks from the outside. Â Sound system is great and lighting is awesome. Â Nice employees. Â Only bad thing was no food. Â Ive read about Zigs serving lunch during the week but we settled for a hot dog cart outside. Â Cant wait to go back.
Review Source:"Dude, Ziggy's rocks!"
Those words came from my buddy, a fellow transplant who spent a good portion of his twenties hanging out in places like Red Rocks, the Oregon Country Fair, and the Fillmore in SF, seeing bands like Phish, the Dead, moe, and Galactic.
So he knows a thing or two about seeing live shows.
Since Ziggy's re-opened, I've been to a few shows. The venue is solid - bigger than you'd expect, yet small enough that every show felt intimate and unique. The balcony is cool, but unless you are on the railing or in the second row, you won't see much of the stage. On the main floor, you are never more than 50 feet from the band. They've got a pretty badass lighting system.
Good beers were 4 bucks, cocktails were 6. Totally reasonable.
Rock on!!!
