Addis Abeba Ethiopian Cuisine

A decent Ethiopian place. I was on a business trip in Glenview w a colleague who had never tried Ethiopian.
It was a slow Wed evening I guess. The waitress came with menu and offered to help w menu.
I got the meat combo (2 meat n 1 veggie) where I chose chicken and lamb stew. My colleague chose Veggie (4 vegetarian) where he chose 2 Lentils, cracked wheat, chickpeas and simple salad on side.
He was surprised that there were no Forks - but that is the whole point, use your injera (steamed bread) to take food.

I have had better tasting ( more quantity too) at other Ethiopian in San Jose Ca ( Gojo) and Cambridge MA. Hence the 3 stars.

With my 2nd visit, I just confirm that I love this place! This is my 1st Ethiopian food experience, so I can't attest to it's aunthenticity, by I can say that the food in amazing!The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the service we received. We went in a group of 6 on Sunday right when they opened at noon. The waitress was quick to get our orders. Our food took almost an hour to come out and then when we were waiting for the check, we had to go find the waitress to get the check. However, the last time I was there on a busy Saturday night the service was great. If this is your 1st time there, I would highly recommend the Chef's combo. You get a little bit of everything to try. The lamb is AMAZING!! We got the Chef's combo and all of us ate it in about 5 minutes!! This is definately a great place to go with a group and experience an amazing dining experience.

It's been a year and a half since my last review so time for an update. The food continues to be superb here. Whether it's authentic or not, I cannot comment as I've never been to Ethiopia. But it is very tasty and delicious, which is what I look for in a meal. The staff is very friendly. No, there are not a lot of people here usually, but that doesn't bother me, in fact, it just means that I get quicker service. I have taken a lot of people here, whether friends or colleagues. They have all enjoyed the experience.
