Please wear gloves! Why do middle easterns restaurants never use gloves! I left one place next door cause the cook was not wearing one, and came here thinking this is more
Classy but no, they just do not wear gloves, when someone roll you wrap with his bare hands, not appetizing at all. PLEASE WEAR GLOVES
I am a big fan of Middle Eastern food and have tried a number of different restaurants over the years. In this neighborhood, I have always favored Noon O Kabob (its a Persian place), which is located a few blocks down the street. Recently when driving through the neighborhood,  a friend and I decided to try out  Al-Khaymeih based mostly on the Yelp reviews.
The experience was fine, nothing special, although I am not sure I will return. The hummus was very good, but also a little on the salty side for my tastes. We both ordered kefta kabob platters, served on a bed of rice with grilled vegetables. The kabobs seemed dry in comparison to some other Middle Eastern restaurants I enjoy. Once again, it seemed like the chef went a little overboard with the salt shaker, which left me downing a few glasses of water to cleanse the taste.
Overall, not a bad experience - just not a great one. Noon O Kabob is a little pricier, but I think it is a better bet in this area. Shawarma Inn on Lincoln Avenue (Near Lincoln & Bryn Mawr) is still my favorite place for Kabobs, hands down, but its a further drive away.
