I used to live close to this restaurant and I would order or dine in every week. I love this place. It's very simple, but the food is amazing and the staff is so friendly. We've taking a lot of friends there and everybody loved the food. I live quite far from it now, but every now and then I'll cross the city just to get some hummus from Salam. Hands down the best hummus I've ever had. I would also recommend the lunch special, what I delicious deal!
Review Source:When the food and service is as good as it is/was here(second visit), the review just writes itself.
Service-- Impeccable. The wait staff is fast on their feet, well organized, attentive, funny, and helpful. Honestly, it's as if they are all just so truly happy to be working here, they exude their own attitude onto the patrons. Great dudes all around.
Food-- I have had the same thing twice here, with this time slightly varying the dish by substituting the rice for the Baba Gannouj. The dish is simply called, "Combination Lunch Special", which includes, Chicken Taouk, Kifta Kabob, Shish Kabob, Shawerma, and Falafel. This dish falls under the "Business Lunch Specials" which all come with Falafel, Salad(green peppers/tomatoes), fries or rice, and fresh pita bread, all for a modest price of $6.95, M-F from 11-3p.m. This dish is not only incredible because all the meats are seriously done perfectly, just juicy as could be, but the falafel is unreal. It is super moist and is unlike any other falafel that I've ever had. It's crunchy exterior gives way to this fresh and soft interior which is just packed with flavor. Also, the substitution of the rice for the Baba was money. Sure the rice is great as I know from my previous visit, but the Baba was the best I've ever had. It was intensely flavored, and just so smooth and good. To top it off, the portions that they serve are huge. These are not "lunch" portions but more like fat ass could be filled dinner portions. No wonder the place is hoping each time I visit, as you get your hard earned moneys worth and then some...
Enjoy Suckas'!!!
BTW, they take credit and have shared parking in the lot, so skip the street if you can..
