This restaurant was SO DISGUSTING that I will not go into ANY Applebees again!
My husband and I wanted a quick dinner late one Tuesday evening. Â Â When we arrived, the restaurant was loud--but we were hungry. Â We asked for a table in a "quieter" location, and were seated in the main dining room.
It was karaoke night and groups of people were braying into microphones in the bar. Â Â It's OK to have this stuff in the bar, but they were sending the gross sounds into the entire restaurant!!!!!
I can't believe that a restaurant chain would allow this DISCRIMINATORY behavior (yes, excessive noise discriminates against people who want to talk with one another during dinner) by one franchise holder, so this incident reflects on the chain as a whole in my mind.
Life is too short to DRIVE to an Applebees, PARK the car, and ENTER the restaurant, HOPING that it's not karaoke night. Â Â There are many other restaurants in this world -- I will take my business elsewhere.
If this is the Castleton Applebee's, the map is not accurate. Â This is located directly in front of the mall next to Olive Garden and on the site of the defunct Chi-Chi's. Â I met about 10 friends there on Friday night and the daughter of one of my friends was serving. Â Service and food were very good. Â I had potato skins and boneless wings and I ordered after 10 and they were $3.99 apiece (the sign said you also had to order a drink but my server said I didn't need to and could drink water only but I also ordered a root beer). Â I think my total bill was $10 and I gave my server $20 and told her to keep the difference. Â Also some of my friends smoke and they had to go outsIde to do that - very good thing. I will go back for sure when my server is there.
