My fiancee and I went here for Valntine's Day and my birthday dinner; we had never been there before. Not only were our seats super great, but the food was better than I had hoped. I had their tofu miso soup and was impressed- not everyone can get tfou right and they certainly did!

We can't wait to go back!

Food was all fantastic. I had the shrimp tempura to start which was a great size, well presented and delicious. The Philly sushi wasn't as scary as it sounds and the deep fried ice cream was a great treat to top it all off. The only down side? The price of the sushi rolls for the amount of food wasn't great, otherwise a fantastic meal.

I was not impressed. The service was very slow and the food took forever. At the end of the day, I was wishing I would have just gotten a sandwich. Very underwhelming. Very disappointing. The medium steak came out burnt to a crisp. They said they would refire it right away. Someone that took 25 minutes, which helped me realize why it was overcooked in the first place. The sushi was average at best. There was nothing memorable about this restaurant other than how long it took to find a parking spot. Maybe I am sushi spoiled living in the LA area, I don't know.....

Azie is really wonderful in terms of service, food, and ambiance. My parents, best friend, and I stopped in for dinner tonight; we had no idea that we had stumbled upon such a fantastic restaurant.

I ordered the lettuce cups (substituted tofu for chicken) and vegetarian platter. Each dish was really well-prepared and the serving sizes were way bigger than I expected. The vegetarian platter was curated with variety and, while I don't know much about sushi, I was very happy with the selection.

Others at my table ordered Toban Yaki, two with tofu and one with seafood. They seemed to enjoy their orders as thoroughly as I did!

The highlight of the meal was the warm, attentive, and intelligent service; the manager stopped by and was absolutely a doll. Our waitress was awesome and super friendly!

Definitely recommending Azie to everyone I know!

I have been to Azie a few times. A few of the items are very similar to what you would see on Morimoto's menu because at one time a sous chef from Morimoto left and became a chef here. That is why I knew to order the rock shrimp tempura and the kobe beef carpaccio. The rock shrimp tempura is one of my favorite apps of any restaurant. The Azie roll and the Nigiri was delicious. I did not go there for the sushi though. I entrees are very well done. This past time, I ordered the lamb chops and they were cooked perfectly. The parsnip puree was excellent. My wife had the Pad Thai and my parents had the short ribs and the sea bass. I tasted them all and would have ordered all of them. I would def go back to Azie. The service is always excellent and the food is worth the trip.

Any place where I can get my best friend and wife drunk while sipping on Warm Sake is A+ in my books. I love this place, and not for the food or the drinks.

But for the great staff, proximity to home, great decor, and great prices. Awesome place to be anytime or the day or night, now if I can only convince someone to start Shabu Shabu or Uni there. We'd be set.

This visit was just meh for all of us. Service was great, but the food was disappointing. We all agreed that the appetizer portions were smaller and the sushi were really skinny this time, while price remains high.

How do I say this, oh thats right over-rated. The only thing this place excels at is great service with an atmosphere to match. This is of course a good thing and difficult for an restaurant to implement however, it does not take away from the fact the food is just not that good. I have certainly had better sushi and other Asian cuisines. Go here for happy hour not food.

The ambiance is great; the whole place is well decorated. By the way, the little rock path decorations on the ground is not friendly on heels, ladies. Our waitress was excellent. However the food was sub par. For such high prices, you do expect something better, but it wasn't even as good as my normal sushi place. I ordered the Azie, thinking if they named it after the restaurant it has to be good, but it was just OK. The udon noodles were overdone. The New Philly roll was decent but is kobe beef ever not good? The scallop roll was my least favorite; there was no flavor and I have Korean taste buds. I heard the [expensive] entrees and mixed drinks are delicious so maybe I'll try that next time. But for sushi, I'll stick with my default.

This is the best sushi in the Media area, in my opinion.
My first waitress job was at a sushi restaurant with an amazing chef from Japan. I had to wear a kimono, funky socks with the toe slot -- the whole bit. I learned all about proper sushi preparation, and so I feel comfortable saying that I have eaten at some other places around the Media area, and again I say, Azie is best in this area.

For sushi, cleanliness is paramount. Next, fresh ingredients that have been handled properly. Then, proper flavoring and preparation. Finally, assembly and presentation. Azie comes through on all counts.

I will say that sometimes with the rolls they go heavy on sauces or sweet flavors, and I wish they wouldn't. But, then, "specialty" rolls are usually nontraditional and I know there are people who like all that sauce.

To be fair, I have not had any of the more "fusion" menu items yet or the more American items, so I can't talk about those items.

We really like the happy hour at the bar provided it isn't too crazy-crowded.
I'm not sure why folks are cranky about the service, because I think the bartender is fantastic. I wish I knew his name so I could say it here. He is attentive, friendly, and funny. He is pretty entertaining. I think he was doing dance moves one night behind the bar. Another night, we witnessed these two guys come in and be so freakin' rude, and the bartender handled it with humor and a smile.
The happy hour is a great deal with some very low-priced rolls and other more American-ish type items. Drink specials are good, although I always seem to want the Sangria (white sangria--yum!) or other specialty drinks that aren't on special.

Again, I don't know why some people have been cranky in other reviews about service. The service we have had in the dining room was great. Our servers made suggestions and were very helpful with menu item ingredients.
The dining room is a bit pricey for me to go back often, but the bar and happy hour is a great, affordable alternative.

My wife and I have "dined" many times at Azie and always with similar results. I put dine in quotes because most times we just get a spot in the bar area. That is what we did on 7/6 and the results were good. When we sit in the bar we tend to just share a few things. We got the ground spiced chicken with lettuce leaves which is always good. We just got into sushi so we got the sesame crusted tuna with seaweed salad. The seaweed salad was really excellent, the presentation beautiful and the whole dish just worked. We got a fried rice with shrimp and while it was ok, they have done better there before. Service was very professional and always has been for us. The crowd on this evening was a lot of 20 somethings coming in on date night. Girls wearing dresses and guys wearing golf shirts generally. A very clean nice young crowd.

I can't understand all of these great reviews. Food was awful and expensive. Spicy tuna tartar was so bad, maybe 3 ounces of tuna that was flavorless. Calamari salad was over dresses and salty. Do I need to go on? Soft shell crab was not fresh, pad thai was ketchupy and too spicy. Just stay home.

I visited Azie for the first time alone - and it sure won't be my last.
Expensive - yes - but I had impeccable service on the (now open) rooftop deck and tried the delicious (and huge) Chicken Noodle (rice noodles) soup. Simple - but great.

Good selection of cocktails, too.

Can't wait to come back and try more.

We ordered just about every app on the menu - and I don't regret it one bit!

Tempura calamari with garlic mayo and oroshi ponzu dipping sauce - Pass. It was too chewy and the sauces we're a good pair for the chewy calamari. PASS.

Spicy Tuna Tartar with Guacamole, Crunchy Corn Tortilla Chip - AWESOME. I would get this again. I uploaded a picture of this - I highly recomend this (and the roll below)

Kobe beef hot rock seared tableside with citrus soy sauce - Awesome but eat it quick because the rock does not stay hot all night.

Sesame crusted tuna sashimi with a seaweed scallion salad and spicy miso - This was good. Pretty standard but good quality.

New Philly Roll - Ok so I've always stayed away from any sushi roll with meat. Its just not been something I'm interested in. I love meat. I love sushi. I don't love them together. AND THEN I WAS WRONG. The new Philly Roll is very approachable. So the New Philly Roll takes extremely thin sliced kobe beef and wraps it around the roll. This is the first time I've found meat and sushi to work together. I highly recomend this roll - just because its really rare to find meat in sushi and have it work.

Best place for sushi in the area for me. I went there after abandoning the awful college cafeteria food on a Saturday night and it was definitely worth it. There are surprisingly quite a number of places to get sushi in the area and Azie comes down as my favorite. The place has a fun and definitely trendy atmosphere. There are different seating areas, and a bar by the lounge. Without having made a reservation we were seated by the bar, which was decent. Would like to check out the window and upstairs area in the future. The people are friendly and quick. It has both a restaurant and lounge feel, which makes the eating the food a better experience.

The sushi was pretty good in my standard. The selection was decent, not as extensive as I'd expected, but included the standards and some surprises. Price is decent for what you get, and compared to the other options around. The rolls are around $10 and nigiris are around $6 for two. Portions are decent. Definitely try the Azie roll and the Soft Shell Crab. They were delicious. Didn't try the appetizers but from looking at tables around me they look pretty good. Would go back again for sure. I hear happy hour is awesome?

First parent weekend at Swarthmore College and we needed a nice restaurant in Media. So glad we found Azie, a HOMERUN!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the crowd is eclectic. We were seated immediately for a 6;15 reservation and were treated by a very friendly staff from the maitre'd to the waitress and everyone in between. The food was outstanding! Very interesting menu primarily Asian along with a great selection of creative seafood and steak dishes.

We started with the Miso Chicken with cool lettuce cups for appetizers then several sushi rolls. The sushi rolls were fresh, very different and delicious. We ordered the Azie roll, New Philly (my favorite) and the Soft Shell Crab roll. We also ordered a Kobe Skirt steak that was deliciously tender!

For desert my college age kids ordered the fried ice cream that was very good. Next time I will try the beef short ribs for an entree and chocolate bomb for desert.

Media is a great town with many restaurant choices. Im not sure this one can be beat.

We will be back very soon!

This review is for the happy hour bar/lounge menu, but if that is any indication at all of the overall offerings of the establishment, I don't think 5 stars is enough. What a magnificent experience.

The restaurant is very stylish and the decor is simple yet elegant. There are basically 4 main areas: street level, where the bar and lounge are located; a few steps down, you find the main dining room; half a floor up, there is another dining room which can also accommodate large parties or functions; and up one final flight, you reach a beautiful outdoor deck with a view of Orange Street. There is also a private room available -- seating for about a dozen people, where a prix fixe menu is offered.

We stopped in right around 6 pm on a Wednesday (this particular Wednesday, Dining under the Stars was canceled due to iffy weather, but Azie is a regular participant in the event). Happy hour runs from 5 to 7, and if you sit in the bar/lounge area, you are offered a special menu of small plates, and a few very nicely priced drink specials which change daily. The small plates run in the $3-5 range, and my drink special (a saki-tini) was a mere $5, about half the regular menu price.

The food? wow. We sampled ... oh, almost everything. Three different rolls (the calif, the shrimp tempura and the insanely good sweet potato) and we also had several small plates ... the japanese chicken nuggets were exceptional, the pork dumplings and edemame were both excellent, and the truffle fries were outstanding. We would have tried more, but the plates are actually pretty substantial, so we were well sated with our order.

Service could not have been better -- our server Anastasia was lovely, sparkly, always there when we needed her, and even offered to take us on a tour of the restaurant before we left as it was our first time. Manager Matt was also extremely friendly, and I was impressed by his unobtrusive presence, keeping an eye on things in a very professional manner. He stopped by our table to make sure we knew happy hour was ending, if we would like to place any final orders. Very smooth.

We somehow saved room for dessert (not a happy hour special) of banana bread pudding. Get it. Just get it.

I can not wait to go back. I will return for the regular dinner menu (which looks quite unique and creative, and also quite well priced) in the near future. But I know I will be back for the happy hour many times over. This place really knows how to do it right.

My wife and I were in Media to visit family, and we decided to try Azie. Overall, it was a very good experience. The outdoor deck for dining was a nice surprise, especially since the weather was gorgeous. We had a nice mix at the table of sushi, appetizers, and seafood dishes. We also tried their bread pudding, which was fantastic.

The only reason for not giving it a 5 star rating was the prices for the portion size and accompaniments provided with the dishes. We live in Manhattan, NYC, and are used to expensive restaurants, but I felt that for the prices Azie was charging in Media PA, there should have been a bit more food on the plate.

Lots of Kobe beef, must have been on sale.

Small portions, good miso soup, I left here hungry

My girlfriend and I have been here a handful of times and have always come away pleased. The interior seems trendy without being over the top. Azie fits nicely into downtown Media, providing a slightly classier option as compared to some of the more laid-back bar/restaurants down the street. Although, our favorite seating area is definitely the rooftop deck.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent beer list with a few local brewery options. Each time we've been to Azie, we've shared sushi for dinner, and each time it has been very good. But the highlight of our last visit was definitely the rock shrimp tempura appetizer. Our waiter informed us that it won some sort of award for best appetizer in the area, and I believe it. And while I'm on the topic, hats off to our waiter who overcame our inability to choose beers by bringing us rather large samples of several of them.

Azie is a great spot for those nights when the occasion requires you to dress up a little, but is also great for a casual dinner upstairs on the deck.

Great food, ambience, Very nice happy hour especially on these cold winter nights. The portions are nice at happy hour and the prices are fine. Run into many locals there and if you're from out of town just strike up a conversation at the cozy , beautiful yet very hip and trendy bar. All ages welcome. People are friendly and here's a plus--- a woman can go there solo and not feel uncomforatble.. Sometimes girls just wanna get out!
For lunch or dinner at tables it is also very enjoyable. The food is very good and artistically served. Even my 18 year old enjoys going there to dine with me.

The brunch is less formal and it's not a huge selection as other buffets but the taste and textures make up for limited selection. This is 5 stars in my book and I can't wait to try their other one in Nova.

Every time I visit my hometown, I stop into Azie with my mom and sister. And every time I leave, I'm incredibly pleased with the experience. I think they could improve upon the customer service skills of their hosts, as I've been largely ignored on several occasions while they talk to each other. Their waitstaff are great, attentive without being overbearing; water is refilled quickly, and food is served in a timely fashion, no matter how busy.

I think the cocktails are a bit overpriced for Media - most are $11 - but at least they're strong and mighty tasty. The Azie Blue (blueberry vodka, lemonade, and muddled mint) is the PERFECT summer beverage, and I've taken to making it at home.

The star of the show is, of course, the food. On our last visit, we started with the seaweed salad and the chicken miso lettuce cups. The salad is a no-brainer, hard to mess up, and the lettuce cups were delicious and plentiful, easily split among three. Highly recommended. And we didn't try any of the entrees, instead focusing on the sushi: the Azie, soft shell crab, New Philly, and shrimp tempura rolls. I didn't try the New Philly, but my sister orders it with every visit, so they're doing something right. The Azie roll is basically a spicy tuna roll with avocado on top, so it's not reinventing the wheel, but it does have a great balance of spice and smoothness. The soft shell crab and shrimp tempura rolls are pretty standard, and very tasty. In summary, their sushi isn't necessarily creative, but they pull it off very well.

I went here with my wife and another couple as part of the wonderful Media Jazz at Night annual event. I really picked it because Bootsie Barnes was playing here. The couple we invited are not really huge Jazz fans, but adventuresome (though healthy) eaters.

The atmosphere is VERY downtown. You'd never know you were in quaint little almost-Southern Media, PA. The bar was very hip, and had Chimay on draft as well as a nice selection of house wines.

We were seated in the dining room separate from the bar, where we could not hear the band, but the waiter was accommodating and opened the windows so the music could waft in through the street. Fortunately, the foursome next to us seated directly BY the windows were also accommodating about the autumnal air accompanying the B3 trio, but since they were nibbling off an enormous and GORGEOUS sushi platter, they didn't have to worry about their meal getting cold.

We split a smaller version (and found, that on fact, some pieces like the eel, and California roll were, in fact, served warm. It was quite a respectable selection to split for four as a light appetizer. There were also some tuna, whitefish and salmon nigiri.

My three partners each ordered a different fish, Black Bass, Chilean Se Bass and Salmon, and each was prepared differently, all quite well. I ordered the Rock Lobster Toban Yaki (two medium size tails) a preparation served in a sizzling ceramic plate with root vegetables and squash in a mildly sweet and hot glaze. All entrees were under $30 and varied quite widely. Plenty of delicious-sounding choices.

Waitstaff was polite and attentive, refilled water, and knew the menu very well. We DID have a wobbly table, and probably should have complained, but as Bootsie was the headlining act, the place was packed, and we had already waited 1/2 hr. for that table.

After dinner, we lingered at the bar for a nightcap, and to hear the set finish out. The management thoughtfully left the Phillies on the two flat screens above the bar (with the volume all the way down.)

At 1/2 hour from my home, it's not as close as downtown Philly, but parking is easy, and it's a very good value. I suppose i"d go out of my way to eat here again (or at the closer shop in Villanova.)

Too bad they don't have Jazz every weekend !

P.S. Went back for more Bootsie at the 2011 fest. Food was just as good as we remembered. Very creative, well-executed food. Service was also impeccable.

I LOVE this place. Before I moved here, every visit Azie was a must on the to-do list.

The service is great. In all the times I've been there I've only had ONE bad waiter. But he wasn't the one delivering the food, and that guy was fantastic, so it worked out. Be nice and friendly and service is fantastic.

The food... I love it. I'm in love with the Cream Cheese and Crab Spring Rolls. Rave reviews there. I could eat a thousand of those. Yumm. The Teriyaki Salmon is my all time favorite, but Teriyaki anything there is fantastic. Other favorites inclue the Rock Shrimp Tempura, the Pork Chops, the Truffle French Fries, the California Sushi roll, and the Calamari. I've had the Honey Chicken and didn't think it was so special - good, but not great.

The dessert menu is something I haven't traveled too far into. The Chocolate Bomb is amazing my friend raves and I haven't gone wrong with their ice cream.

I hear the drinks are good. But I usually don't order them. A little pricey but what drink isn't nowadays?

So, yeah, great ambience, decor (very modern loungy feel), and fantastic food!

I went and checked this place out for Sunday brunch. It was a $16 all you can eat deal, and the food has a nice variety and is quite tasty. They have the usual breakfast items like eggs, bacon, and french toast, as well as Asian specialties like sushi, dumplings, and noodles, plus soup, fruit, and dessert.

Why the two stars?
1. POSSIBLY THE WORST SERVICE EVER. I mean, it was obscenely bad. It started when the hostess was downright hostile toward us when we walked in. Once we were seated, no one spoke to us for almost 20 minutes, so we couldn't even place a drink order. We didn't finally get someone's attention until we'd both finished an entire plate of food. And once we did finally place our drink orders, they took so long to come that we had already finished eating and didn't really even want them anymore. No one apologized or acknowledged the problem. Unacceptable.

2. Though admittedly the food tasted good, we both felt absolutely nauseous afterward, and I spent the better part of the day feeling like I was going to vomit. I have quite a strong stomach, so that means there was something pretty darmn wrong with what I ate.

I won't be heading back.

When we lived in Media, this was the spot we went to on our anniversaries. On the eve of our due date of our first born we visited again and were not disappointed! I asked the cute little waiter what types of fruits drinks they had...and he showed me the tropical special drinks...I point to the beach ball critter under my shirt and he blushed. He brought me the pineapple juice.

I started with the avocado salad- it's served with field greens and tomatoes with balsamic vin and a thai/peanutty sort of dressing- and a WHOLE sliced avocado. And I LOOOOOVE me some avocado.

For both dinner and dessert I went with the fondue choices on the menu- dinner was the cheese fondue with tempura chicken, shrimp and veggies. I know tempura is sort of an amateur move when you're at a nice sushi resty BUT...I'm 40 weeks pregnant so if someone wants to fight about it, I'll be happy to take them outside... ;-)

Dessert was also delish- chocolate fondue with all the fruit and marsh mellows I could handle. I was rightfully stuffed.

I'm excited to go back on the anniversary of our first date...or our birthday or something of the sort.

We haven't had the bad experiences with service that other diners report, and we eat here a decent amount. Once or twice we've had servers who are a bit inexperienced but not unpleasant, the rest of the time very competent service.

The food is solid, competent and at its best, quite enjoyable. My main complaint is that the menu has been the same for a very long time, there are never any specials, and you sometimes get the feeling that the menu is being kept as stable as it is in order to idiot-proof its preparation, to minimize the need for an executive chef who is constantly thinking about the food. If we're looking to go out and have a reasonably nice meal in Media, don't feel like going farther, we sometimes end up at Azie, but I confess I'm pretty bored with the food at this point.

Although I have not been here for dinner, I was pleasantly surprised by the very quaint and reasonable brunch that is offered! from 11-2 or 3, for $16 pp Azie offers an array of items from the traditional eggs, bacon and french toast to sushi, dumplings and tempura!

The spread is great, the price can;t be beat and the staff is sweet as can be! DO call ahead for reservations as it is tiny inside and fills up quickly!

Azie was like a shimmery star for us locals when we found out it was opening. It wasn't bar food, it wasn't crappy chinese takeout, it seemed kind of fancy and almost slick and hip.

Sadly, I think the best thing about this place is the bathroom (which is really really cool. i mean, seriously, i'd live in this bathroom if i could. it's kind of worth it just to run in and check it out).

I've never gone for dinner, but have gone several times for happy hour as a good friend worked there...but even with him in tow....the service stunk. We'd all have to cram into this tiny front seating area to qualify for the discounted apps and drinks and he'd have to get up more than once during the meal to get us a drink, food, etc...and he wasn't on the clock. If it wasn't him, it would be at least 4 different people randomly coming over greeting us. We were greeted once, that was enough. Thanks.

They were going out of their way to advertise these specials...but we got treated like we were trying to trick them out of money. Really though, we were just poor 20 somethings attempting to get some sushi at a reasonable price and perhaps get a little tipsy in the process. We weren't rooting through their trashcan in hopes of an asparagus roll, so why were we treated like street urchins? Hell, we'd even dress a little nicer if we knew we were going there, so we tried. It was never enough. In the two hours you had to get your food and drinks, you'd be lucky to get 2 drinks at the discounted price....and they were watching that clock.

And just on a personal note...their food never once made me feel full. I'd always have to leave and get a real dinner so my stomach would stop growling for the night.

Well well well, what do we have here. City dining on the west end of Media? This place is beautiful, and I'm going to play down the sad fact that my sashimi - while generously sized - just wasn't the freshness or quality that I've come accustomed to.

They why 4 stars? Because the caribou ribs in a tamarind bbq sauce (which my father in law got) were stellar, the halibut (husband's choice) over a creamy risotto was delicious, flakey and everything you want halibut to be, and the side order of wasabi mashed potatoes were so stellar that I quickly learned to eat mashed potatoes with chopsticks. Hell to the yeah.

Azie, anchoring the west end of Media, offers a menu of flavors not normally associated with the Delco county suburbs. Trading on quality and atmosphere, the restaurant attempts to give people the "Philly" experience without having to make the drive.

Sure, it's a couple rungs up on the price ladder than people might be used to, but for me the price is worth it. You're not just enjoying cool twists on Asian fare, you're enjoying the ambiance and the atmosphere the restaurant provides for everyone.

To get a decent sampling of what they offer, they also host a Sunday brunch buffet for $16/person, that's full of you standard fare (pancakes, eggs) and more unusual (tempura, miso soup, terriyaki, sushi rolls). Certainly not able to boast it's full menu on Sunday mornings, it still gives a tease of what the restaurant can offer other times.

I have yet to run into any poor service or icy stares from the waitstaff; what I have received is attention and knowledge of the menu. I've been steered in wonderful directions by servers and have never had an empty water glass.

Fusion is such a cliche these days, but I think Azie domes to define it well - especially in their sushi roll offerings. I'd recommend the new Philly roll to anyone going.

As a Media resident, I'm glad to see a place like Azie come in and do well in the town. I can only hope it's continued success will give others the idea to take the chance on Media.

Summary: great food, hit-or-miss service, excellent happy hour specials, and I'm thrilled they're opening one on the Main Line.

Pan-Asian / fusion / tired cliche #3; Azie has good sushi and a bunch of other staples of the genre. As with many other restaurants on Media's strip, Azie is better than it needs to be, and turns out to be a social scene as well as place for some classy grub.

Service can be stellar and attentive, lax and laid back, or downright rude. In dozens of visits, the only "rude" experience was when we had a large party and a reservation, and the snobby hostess unapologetically kept us waiting for an hour and a half. The worst part was, we didn't mind waiting since we were all hanging out at the bar; all they needed to have done to repair things was send out some quick snackies to keep us satisfied. But no.

In spring and summer, the rooftop bar is outstanding, though it can get windy up there and service seems to crawl as waitstaff need to scale three stories to provide food and drink.

The real gem here though is the happy hour specials, recently expanded to include wings, parmesean truffle fries, and edamame in addition to the bargain-basement but still quite high-caliber sushi and drink deals.

Best of all: they recently announced that an Azie will be taking the place of Maia on Lancaster Avenue in Villanova. I was a HUGE fan of Maia, but if anyone is going to inherit the space, I'm thankful it's Azie!

Best: Happy hour deals, rock shrimp tempura. Indistinguishable from that at Morimoto's and a bunch of other high-end Asian joints, but much cheaper.

Worst: service could be better.

I had really high hopes for this place as it is near my home but Azie does not measure up. Please keep in mind that I try a place three times (minimum) before I judge it, after all any place can have a bad day.

Azie looks great! Walking in you would think you were on Walnut Street. The food and the service are a let down, don't get me wrong, it is decent but the 'burbs has lots of decent Asian food. I was hoping for a higher standard, this is not it.

They have hand rolls but no sushi or sashimi, when I inquired as to why this was "we do not want to compete with our other restaurant Teikoku" was the reply. Margaret Kuo has two restaurants in media (one on state st. and one in the Granite Run mall) less that three miles apart, yet Azie feels they will dilute the brand if the open a restaurant serving sushi and sashimi within 10 miles of their Newtown Square restaurant, give me a break! Don't get me started on "fusion" world cuisine my a$$.

It is a step up from "store front Asian" but if you are willing to drive 30 minutes to Philly you can do much better.

Brrrrrrr! My friend and I met here for lunch. Made the reservations through http://OPenTable.com...luv that site...and were seated by the front window. It was a sunny day, and I had my back to the window, BUT STILL.....I FROZE.

Temperature aside, we ordered a lunch special and were pleasantly surprised by the quick service and tasty plate of salad, miso soup, sushi (the fake kind) and our choice of 5 different entrees. I choose the miso sea bass and was pleasantly surprised. The only problem AGAIN....IT WAS COLD..so you had to eat the sea bass and miso soup quickly before they froze.

We shared a chocolate bomb...(all you think it is and more). Had a couple of glasses of wine and got out for under $75 bucks. Not cheap, but the food was good. The service was very attentive and responsive (left us alone when we weren't ready but was there when we were). So in all....I'd go back.

The common affliction amongst eating establishments in Media is that the service is generally horrible. Azie is no exception.

On a recent "Dining Under the Stars" Wednesday night, Lori and I decided to give Azie a try. At first we saw that their on-street dining was full. Undaunted, we decided to go in and see if they had any seating available on their roof deck. After initially being ignored by the hostess, we were eventually informed that the "roofdeck is crazy right now" and that there really weren't any more seats available anywhere. There were two tables available in the bar area right in front of us. Regardless, we decided to move on.

That's just one example.

The food at Azie is reasonable, but entirely overpriced. They have a rock-shrimp appetizer that is similar to an appetizer from the Bone Fish Grille chain. To be honest, the Azie rendition is actually much better done.

Drink service is meh. If you are Jonesin' for asian fusion, this is your only choice in town. Unfortunately, they seem to take that for granted.
