Grabbed lunch special.  Good pizza for a great price.  Right balance of topping, cheese & sauce.

We've been back several times since the "rip-off incident", and have had no problems with the staff, or the pizza. And we haven't seen the rude employee there since. So I feel like it's safe to return to my original 4 star review as a result. The pizza is great, and it appears they have hired a much better staff.  :)

So I walked in at around 4pm and no one was by the counter or back area.  It was a few minutes before I was able to order a slice of pizza and drink.  For $5 you get a giant slice of pizza and a cup for some generic fountain soda drink.  The pizza crust was okay but the generic drinks were a joke.  Some people say "it's so big" (insert that's what she said) but just like the joke this pizza place is lame.

Went in for their $5 pizza and coke combo. I was impressed with how big the pizza slices are, but not impressed with the taste. The pizza was luke warm. I would save take your $5 elsewhere for something better.

The first time I ordered from here was great! Everything was right and on time. Ever since then my experience with delivery has been horrible. We ordered lunch and they said the estimated time would be around 45 min. After an hour I called back and they said their first delivery guys car broke down so another delivery guy was coming back to get our food and bring it to us. 45 min later they call and say the boss is going to personally bring us our food. The boss never brought our foof. After 2 and half hours we got our food.

Then today I decided I was going to forget my second experience and order again. I ordered online so I could get the 15% discount. They said it would be there by the time I had indicated on the order. They called me about an hour later and said that they don't have a delivery guy for the day, so I have to cancel my order. What restaurant in the loop who normally delivers during rush hour lunch does not have a delivery person for the day?? Baccis pizzeria obviously.

I can only imagine what it would be like to sit in at this place.

Wow! I've been working in the downtown area for years and have just stumbled upon this place!! My lunch diners were not newbies though and have known about this place for years! Its apparently their little secret!

Well secret is out folks! For $5 you can get a HUGE slice of pizza and a drink! I can't even tell you how huge it is. Its freaking BIGGGGGGG.  At least two to three times a regular slice you'll get at other pizzerias.

We came with a coupon for a free 12" pizza.  Since we thought the 12" pizza was approximately the same size as a regular slice of pizza, we just asked them if we could substitute it with a regular slice. They let us do it! Awesome customer service!!!

There is plenty of seating inside and a television to watch afternoon sports.

We ordered several items, one of which was boneless wings.  Almost an hour after we ordered, they called to say they were out of boneless wings.  We pretty much structured our meal around them since we were both really wanting them, so we said to go ahead and cancel, since it was taking so long anyway.  We hang up and they call back two minutes later and said they miraculously "found" boneless wings and they actually have them.  We agreed to continue the order and 45 minutes later, almost an hour and 45 minutes after we originally ordered we get our food.  We open the boneless buffalo wings we ordered and they were just chicken nuggets, with a cup of hot sauce on the side...not our idea of boneless buffalo wings.  So I call and ask to speak with a manager and after I am put on hold for almost 5 minutes, a woman picks up and I let her know that we are unhappy with our order and she says the best she can do is 10% off our next order (like we would order from here again).  So I ask a few more questions and find out that she isn't even a manager!!!  The whole time, she was very very rude.  So I ask her when a manager will be in and she tells me the next afternoon so I leave my number for the manager to call me back.  Surprise, surprise he didn't call me back.  Needless to stay, we will NOT be ordering from here again and advise others not to either.

Our company ordered delivery from this place recently and it was horrible. None of us ordered pizza, but the other items sounded enticing. First of all, the driver got lost (which i dont fault him for, it's hard to find our building sometimes - so its forgivable). But then he forgot our dessert and utensils, which he brought back lickity split - ok all is fine. Then we dug in-that was the worse part. I had the shrimp platter 21 shrimp with fries. They put the shrimp and fries together inside the container, so the heat from both made the shrimp and fries soggy. The fries were soft, limp and DARK BROWN. i dont think they changed the oil (just my opinion).  Baked Rigatoni, Mostaccioli, Perch - sad sad sad.  The Tiramisu is my fave dessert in the world.. i took a spoonful and it was absolutely disgusting.. Definitely not fresh at all.  Bacci - stick with pizza, get rid of the other items that you think will "help" you get other folks in -- cuz we won't be coming back.. not even for the pizza.

WTF! You people LIKE this place??? Deaf, Dumb, and Blind... i guess.
I pay for an office in this historic building, and they defaced it with a big cheesy plastic decal stuck on the facade advertising their $5.00 s#!T!
They cant bake a pizza to save their lives! Inedible, bland,
    Lukewarm ,UNDERCOOKED, dough is unforgivable!
I dont care how cheap it is, they dont know how to cook it.
DONT ORDER WHAT THEY CALL LASAGNE!  it's A MESS you'll be sorry.
The staff is not remarkable, i've overheard them loudly mocking, and talking about their dedicated dumb customers.Go on saturday so you can see the most surly, sour , almost hostile latino guy berate the other guy.
Fools are quickly parted from their money here.

$5 for a huge slice of pizza and a drink? Well, while not good for the waist, it's definitely good for the wallet!  Now, normally I would just get a slice of cheese pizza, which has always been pretty decent, hence the three stars. The staff is always pleasant as well.Today, I decided to deviate from the norm and get a slice of spinach and tomato. Bad idea! Dry, overdone, is this really spinach, cardboard, these  are all terms that came to my mind as I bit into piece after unsavory piece of this pizza. Now keep in mind that I don't waste ANYTHING so at some point in the day, I will be forced to finish the rest but I need to work myself up to it.  This plus my Friday afternoon "meal" at the Panda Express on Wells, has officially thrust me into a week of lunch punishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First I want to correct the first reviewer; a giant slice of pizza w/free drink is only $5, not $6.  The low price make Bacci one the best lunch values in the South Loop.  As others have noted, the pizza slices are enormous and generally one piece will satisfy the most voracious appetite.  There is seldom a long line, so you get your pizza and drink fast.  The best time to come is between 12-2 p.m. when the fresh hot pizzas are flying out of the oven.  After 2 p.m. the probability of getting a piping hot fresh pizza right out of the oven diminish.  Also as mentioned by others, the staff is always friendly.  Bacci does have other items on the menu, but I've only had the pizza which is very good with generous amounts of cheese and other toppings.  One other thing about Bacci at this location worth mentioning is their clean bathroom that always has soap, hot water, and paper towels.

Wow! I stumbled into this little pizzeria after an interview downtown. I knew nothing of their history or the "slice" special, but did know I had a tremendous appetite.

The waitstaff was friendly and gave me the low down of available slices. I saw the large slices and didn't see a price, but as previously mentioned, I was starving.

I was surprised when I was rung up. 5 bucks (and change)!  On top of the gargantuan slice of pizza, you get a free fountain drink.

The slice tasted like it had been out for a while, but was still a great value.

I am going to frequent the other Chicago locations (Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park) anytime I have an appetite and low on dough.

I'm waffling between three and four stars and have decided that the fourth star will come with a successful addition of another topping.

HUGE does not do these slices justice. Figure four Tombstone slices makes up one, far better tasting, Bacci slice. We popped in, there was no line, in fact there was no one but counter staff, got our slices to eat there and left totally stuffed. The cheese/crust/sauce/sausage proportion was good, the slice hot and tasty. The soda pop cups are only like, 10 ounces but you really don't have much room for more than that when you wolf down your tasty tomato pie slice like SOME of us did. Ahem.

    *burp*

The pizza here is so nasty the crust has no taste at all I might of well have been eating cardboard with toppings on top. I would recommended spending your money elsewhere.
