Popeye's Famous Fried Chicken

I hate, hate this food court. It's the most depressing and dark food court I've ever been in. Sometimes though, I can't resist the siren call of fried chicken and biscuits. It must have something to do with being married to a Southerner. Chicken and biscuits make my heart skip a beat.

This Popeye's is alright. It's your average fried chicken food court restaurant in this neck of the Loop. The reason I write a review is to mention their Tuesday special. It's seriously the best fried chicken deal for a Loop lunch. For $3.99, you get two pieces of chicken, a biscuit, and a side. This Tuesday special completely satisfied my need for fried chicken and a biscuit. This deal is not to be missed! For the future, I'm planning on craving fried chicken on Tuesdays only!

I grew up on Popeye's, so it has a special place in my cholesterol-filled heart.  Gotta love the deep-fried spicy chicken pieces and my favorite side, the tasty cajun rice.  I believe the rice has chunks of delicious meat and probably melted lard - it's delicious.  You only come here for lunch if you've given up on the day at work and don't mind being braindead until the whistle blows.

Service is fast and they do take credit cards, which is more than I can say for other establishments in this food court.

It's also connected via the pedway, so I don't need to go outside when it's blizzarding.

PS, I don't think you want to eat in the food court, unless you want insta-depression or an STD.  Best to take it to go.
