This place was more expensive than the menu lets on. We had to ask the kid working there to turn down his heavy metal, and although expensive the place has a cafeteria like feel to it. Also I was made to feel stupid because I didn't know that Belgium waffles didn't come with syrup. I will not be returning.
Review Source:Recently went here looking for a late night snack after a meal at Chilam. Â Initially uncertain about this place based upon the reviews but glad we did.
Though the usual menu can be steep, with waffles more than 9 dollars, a recently developed value money has a price point that makes more sense. Â For about 5 dollars, I was able to get a half sized waffle (which is delicious on its own since the dough is mixed with pearl sugar) with about 3 toppings. Â My two companions got different mixtures for 5 dollars or less giving our group of 3 an assortment of variations to try out. Â
Our group favorite was the half waffle with Speculous (tastes like a better version of teddy grahams), cinnamon sugar, and gelato. Â This one was followed closely, in a tie, by the waffle with confectioner sugar and one with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Â
Overall, considering the new price point, this place is a great option to bobtail or molly's cupcake particularly if you are looking for something unique . Â Give it a shot and you will be pleasantly surprised.
This place is a complete rip off. Â I stopped by here for a quick snack after an appointment at the salon next door. I paid $7 for a Belgian Waffle with Nutella. Â Seriously, the ingredients probably cost $0.50 max. Â I like the concept of Baladoche but won't be heading back any time soon.
