I live not too far from this place and I never see anyone in there. Â Always thought it was a front for something other than food. Â My friend really wanted to have dinner there tonight, so I relented. Â I have some strict dietary allergies, but was able to order the Marsala.
Atmosphere: Â Pretty decent. Â Music is cool.
Food: Â Good, surprisingly. Â The Marsala sauce was a little sweet, but all in all it was good. Â The menu says it comes with Broccoli, so I asked for a side of potatoes as well. Â The dish came with one piece of Broccoli. Â
Server:
When I mentioned the discrepancy between what the menu said and what was actually offered to me on my plate, the server told me that sometimes the kitchen runs out of broccoli, so they put mixed vegetables on the plate (nothing wrong with that), but I did point out that it would have been nice to know that.
The server than said that since I was not a regular, how would I know...and if I were to come more often, maybe I would know what came with each dish.
So basically, since I am not a regular, my opinion doesn't count.
Well since my opinion doesn't count....we'll see what Yelp! has to say!
In Chicago with friends when we happened onto Bella Luna on our long walk to Rush Street and were pleasantly surprised. Â It was a beautiful evening and we sat outside, enjoyed a decent meal while being serenaded by a live singer with a very beautiful voice. Â The muscles were overcooked and a bit too spicy, but the rigatoni with chicken was rich and creamy. Â Surprisingly, they did not know how to make a Negroni, but after one quick lesson, they got it right. Â Everyone else's meal was good, but not amazing. Â Stumble upon it and you won't be disappointed, especially if you like Frank Sanatra.
Review Source:Another gem discovered remotely by Fooda when my apt building made arrangements for Bella Luna to setup in the lobby and serve people as they were coming home from work one evening. Â Excellent Italian menu. Â My wife selected the rigatoni with chicken, and I had the chicken parmesan, and as expected for dessert we shared tiramisu. Â When we decide to strike out and find this place in the city I will be on the prowl for their pork chops and their penne calabrese! Â I would definitely recommend to others. Â I'll write back after we actually sit down and eat there.
