Service was slow, the bottomless mimosas tasted like watered juice. The food was OK. Never will be back.

I like going here for Happy Hour. They have a heated outdoor patio, and you can hang with your dog while sitting at the bar. My boyfriend and I always get the bacon guac. It is awesome. Two of the best things ever invented in one. The bartender made me a wonderful nuts and berries martini. It was one of the best I have had. I have never had poor service, but I always sit at the bar and tip well, so why should I get bad service...

Hey this place is doing just fine, especially considering the very trendy burger and micro pub opened right across street. I've actually been in the ol' parrot a few more times while I've been waiting for a table from said establishment across the street. lol! They have happy hour all day Mondays so that seems cool. Food is fine. It has outside seating so you can smoke.

Really not a place I ever want to eat. Tried food but was let down. Great for drinks! Pitcher of margaritas and guacamole are perfect combo!

Who manages this place???  Service is always poor.  Even for OB standards this place has no customer service skills - none.  And I love OB!  I get dragged here because some friends smoke and it's allowed on the patio, along with dogs, which is all fine with me in general.

So on Street Fair day, two idiot kids get in a fight at the outside bar/patio.  A slew of customers break it up, it starts again, words and stares continue on for 20 minutes.  And they didn't kick these idiots out!!!!????  What the...?

I cannot respect any establishment that does not 86 anyone involved in a fight, at least for that day if not for life.  Lame.

    Again, who manages this place?

Went to the blue patriot on the OB block party day saturday after years of going to the blue parrot. I had a HORRIBLE experience with the female bar tender...I asked for a simple pitcher of margaritas for my family and friends. The female bar tender used excessive profanity at me.  Acting like I should have known that I was not able to order a pitcher of margaritas on Saturday afternoon. I was so upset with the way I was just treated and cussed at by this bar tender that I wanted to leave right at that moment. To find out that my friends and family just ordered food from the waitress named Stephanie. The waitress saw that I was very upset with what just happened and asked why I was upset. I explained to Stephanie that I was VERY upset and wanted to leave. Stephanie was very very sympathetic & great about what happened and said this was not the first time that day that that female bar tender did that to a customer.  Management (Mark and Rob) you might want to address this issue.  And if you do decide to go to the Parrot ask for Stephanie as a waitress she was wonderful.

My personal opinion, "The parrot" is the armpit of Ocean Beach. I wouldn't dare call it a restaurant. It smells like homeless people, even the outdoor patio stinks. I have probably tried a dish or two here in the 5 years I've lived in Ocean Beach, very slow service and the quality of the food is terrible...has always seemed to me like a bunch of scum bum locals meet here to get drunk off $1 beers and hang out all day. If you're looking for tasty food and good drinks, try again.
    Not my style or preference.

Came here during happy hour during the day on a Saturday. They had $3 bloody marys. I took a sip of Bf's and thought it was pretty well done. They also have a reasonable selection of beers. I had the Stone Self-Righteous. We had some chips and salsa on the side and the salsa was bomb and the guac was yums. Service was very friendly. We sat out in the covered patio area and had a good time.

    They are a MOGL place!

    Love their mimosas.

Service has gotten a lil better.

Veggie omelette + chicken = You can thank me later.

Horrible service and really bad food. It took 30 minutes just for the appetizer and we were the only ones eating inside. Out of 8 people the best thing was the tatter tots.

The Blue Parrot is a pretty good dive bar in OB, I've been here a handful of times and enjoyed the atmosphere and drinks. The place is partially outside which is nice since San Diego tends to frown upon any such schenanigans.

I think they have food too but I've never eaten here, it's been good service and good drinks though which is what counts in my opinion. They used to have hermit crab races too but I think that has since stopped, fun times overall though.

I have to say things have improved a ton since my last review. I gave another chance and it would seem like new management has made changes for the better.

I can only comment on the bar as we didn't eat. I was happily surprised with a $10 pitcher of beer, gorgeous weather and friendly service. We sat outside with our dog and there were a bunch of other pooches with their owners.

The bartender came over with bacon for the dogs and they each very much appreciated the gesture. I would certainly return again for drinks.

Go here if you want to go to your ordinary local bar with some friends. It's not too crowded and the bartender apparently thought we looked honest enough and just told us to pay for drinks at the end of the night (what?).

Crab races! Is that legal? Did I legally win a coffee mug and my friend some sunglasses? Not a bad time for a random work night.

This place was honesty awful. The service was slow and our waitress was friendly but  not attentive. Our mimosas were warm and only filled 3/4 of the glass. The food was terrible! My boyfriend and I both felt sick all day after eating there.( I had there Caribbean burrito and he had the blatt sandwich). Too bad because they have a great location and cool bar/outside patio. To top it all off one of the guys working felt the need to spray paint their tiki statue which was right by our table while we were eating. Super rude. I work in the service industry and have for 5 years so I rarely complain about a reataraunt or bar because I understand every place has their off days. But this was terrible and it seems a lot of people agree.

The bar is a simple key west theme. The service is genuine and real. Not a bunch of kiss ass which is refreshing. The food may be a little slower than bar food, but sooooo much better than your average bar. Everything is fresh and made in house. The beer selection is HUGE, 24 taps. Big Deck outside for the sun loving and smokers. Sports always on. A real fun place for lunch, dinner or happy hour.

If I owned a bar...and my liquor license allowed for me to serve liquor until say 1?..2?? ...and my employees closed down the bar with last call at 10...I would be pretty pissed...especially if that bar was PACKED??/

Any way...no ambiance really...nice place to get away from Newport if its gets to busy...and you wanna sit down and eat.  Other than that not sure why you'd wanna go back...food is good (and reasonable)...sevice is not so good.

Atmosphere is between dive and cool...not sure if they are going for island style laid back...but it isn't that IMO.

    Pros:
    Patio dining=DOG FRIENDLY
Football games aired outside and in on Sundays
$12 bottomless mimosas on game day
    Friendly bartenders/staff
    Fantastic Tots!

    Cons:
The food is not the best, but good enough if you stick to classic bar food (Nachos, tots, etc)

Great place for drinks and atmosphere...if you're looking for above average dining, this is not your spot!

I NEVER write reviews but I had to for this one.

I don't know where else to start than by saying I have never in my life been treated so poorly and felt so belittled at a place of business!

Truly unfortunate because I was excited to come here. I had lived in OB for years so I understand the very relaxed vibe of the place. When our server took far too long to bring out our drinks, I wasn't upset. She was running around working so hard and seemed like the only cocktail waitress on duty. My friend ordered a mojito and I wanted to try the cantaloupe version of the same. Instead, we received a mojito and a margarita. Both my friend and I had been in the food industry for years and in feeling sympathetic for the poor waitress decided just to let the mistake slide. Its happy hour and margaritas are cheaper so whether we get charged margarita price or mojito price, we're not stressing.

HOWEVER when we get the bill we were charged for a mojito and a 'cadillac' margarita. I understood then how cadillac margarita could have been misheard from cantaloupe mojito. Seems like a simple misunderstsnding right? Not according to them apparently.

I politely get the manager involved after the new waitress, who came to relieve the original one, gave us a very snappy answer of " well you drank it so I can't help you." I explained the whole story nicely. We were trying to be polite and were willing to pay for the mojito even though we received the wrong drink. I cannot believe the manager then said I was in the wrong and that I needed to pay the extra amount for their mistake. The body language, the demeanor, and attitude were all very belittling and downright rude. What ever happened to " the customer is always right"? I was in no way trying to scam a comped drink or cheat. I'm honest, if I ordered it I would pay.

I should mention the margarita I received was not a cadillac. It was clearly a house margarita with no floater or shot of Grand Mariner, yet the difference between the two is more than 3 TIMES THE PRICE!!

    Absolutely wrong :(

My friend K said that this place had the absolute worst customer service and wanted to prove it to me.

    K was right.

We ordered a round of drinks, intending to buy food but the service was so awful, I paid our tab and walked out without even finishing our drinks.

Don't make the same mistake and allow one of your friends to drag you here to "test" how terrible the service is....take my word for it, go to Raglan where the service is awesome.

So I went through and read many of the reviews and I'm sad to see how terrible a lot of them are. From the reviews it's a well known fact that the food isn't that great, which I agree with. It is an awesome place to grab drinks though! Happy Hour is all day on Monday's, score!! My boyfriend and I like to have our "Monday Fundays" and have both decided to make this a regular spot! I LOVE margaritas and fireball shots and they have specials on both!

This is definitely a great place to go to soak up the OB lifestyle and have some drinks.  If you do want something just to snack on I recommend ordering the tater tots, they're really good! When it comes to their menu, just stay simple, order things that are hard to mess up. Their buffalo wings aren't too shabby either.

I always get the nicest waitress's and have personally never had a problem with slow/poor service. The best part is that I only have to walk two blocks home, woohoo!

I should have turned to my fellow Yelpers before wasting an hour and a meal at The Blue Parrot. My family and I stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat before my hair appointment upstairs. Now this was midweek visit so the place was practically dead. We were greeted quick enough, with drink orders place right away, but this is where the craptastic service began. My dad's coffee came out in a dirty cup with lipstick still on the lip of the cup. Gross out! So we returned it and asked for another. Two waitress and several minutes later out comes a clean cup with room temperature coffee. We bring this to the second waitress's attention and she apologizes. We get a hot cup of fresh java in minute.
Hindsight being what it is we should have gotten up and left. However almost 45 MINUTES after placing our order out comes a salad, a burrito, a burger and some sliders. WTF was the cook doing for 45 minutes?! Did someone walk off the job? Sheet even in a crazy, busy restaurant that order should only take 20-25 minutes max. And the f'ed up thing was neither waitress came over to explain the situation. It was only after my gf went to ask where our meal was did anyone approach our table. Had I not had an appointment for a hair cut I would have walked out and gone some where else. This type of service is not acceptable and had this been any where else The Blue Parrot would have gone under long ago but it survives on people imbibing.
As for the bill, all our waitress said was that they had adjusted the final price and what we got was one meal knocked off the tab. Flip what !?! All that crappy service and that's the best you can do? My tip would have been for them to shove it but since my mom was paying they were awarded 10%.
Save your self the headache and avoid The Blue Parrot like the plague!

The patio is DOG FRIENDLY!! wooo!

That is actually probably the only real reason I come here.
The food is okay, the service is okay, the prices are okay, the drinks are okay.
Over all its just OK, nothing to exciting or worthwhile.

    The all-you-can-eat brunch is disgusting.
Don't waste your time with it.
Order off the menu, its worth the extra money.

This place sucks ass. What kind of bar doesn't have proper shot glasses AND advertises Irish car bombs? I'm supposes to pour in my "shot" then chug.. um ok no thanks. Go across the street to Raglans, best bar and best food joint in Ob, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beautiful waitresses, bar tenders are always cool and Mike the owner is often there and saying hello. I would give no stars if possible to the Blue Parrot!

    Additional Tips?
    Attire: Dress like a bum.
    Ambience: Dumpster
Alcohol: They say they have a bar? HA!

Leave this place for the tourists and other suckers.

Went with a group of eight. We're not a picky group (we're from ob) but when we got our food we all looked around and had the same look on our face. Honestly, i think they need to TRY to make food that bad.

Good thing they have good drink specials....our server was pretty cool too

Oh where should I begin? Let's start with the ambiance. The patio is nice and dog friendly. Looking at this place from the outside, the tropical themed seating area in the sun would prompt one to think this a 4-5 star place... but then you go inside. Floors seem to be habitually dirty and countertops sticky. I'd chalk it up to sitting before the bartender had a chance to wipe up, but this has happened repeatedly.

Proceeding to the service.... The bartender is usually pretty attentive (if less than 5 people at the bar) but the servers like to gab amongst themselves rather than attending to the tables. Bottom line: if you want decent service, sit at the bar, which somewhat negates the sunny patio.

Onto the aspect that would warrant negative 5 stars if possible: the food. Every single food item that I've ordered seems like it was frozen and thawed right before burning (I've seen freezer burn on the food). I've even found plastic chunks in my food - obviously not edible. Each Cinco de Mayo, they have a tequila worm eating contest. The worms are actually an improvement to the normal food...

The ONE saving grace and ONLY reason for that 2nd star is the happy hour and drink specials. Used to be 1/2 off but now the margaritas/beers are reasonably priced.

    Come to DRINK; NOT eat!

An OB Dive Bar, but well lighted with natural light, not one of those whole in the wall dark and dirty caves.

Great happy hour 1/2 food and buy 1 get 1 drinks.

Awesome selection of specialty burgers. The Texan burger was amazing -- loaded with delicious pulled pork, bacon, onion rings and more on a Texas toast bun.
My chicken sandwich was just ok -- bottom  bun was soggy, but the chicken and side order of veggies were good.

more craft beer is needed here, right now its your typical racer 5, stone, and all that bud-light crap. The West coast IPA tasted old/off, I'm used the the fresh brewery beer

Over all I give this place a 4, mainly because of the specialty burgers, happy hour and prices. ***Bonus*** The OB pier is just one block away.

The Blue Parrot was one of my favorite spots and it used to be so popular until they changed over to a burger menu.

Now they are back with a great old menu with Mexican food. YES!!! Margaritas on the rocks are bomb!!

The parrot has a great location with proximity to the beach, but still off the beaten path enough to feel special. Service seems mediocre. Food was okay, tried their fish burger. It was flavorless for the most part. Fried food appetizers were bland and dry, can't expect much from chicken strips really. Menu is large and has some large portion items. I really do want to try the grilled cheese sandwich burger.  $1 shock tops of happy hour was great, but when asked for an orange the waitress said the bar didn't feel like cutting one up for us. Asked two more times and they finally went to the back to get an orange. That's a lazy bar.

So yeah, good for a cheap bear at happy hour and some junk food.

I'd give the place 2 1/2 stars if I could but not quite a 3.

    Parrot owners...what happened?!

We've been coming here for years and have been very excited to see the many impressive design improvements.  We've *loved* the freshly squeezed cantaloup/watermelon/strawberry manmosas (sometimes a little too much) and raved to all of our friends about the delicious Mexican grub....until yesterday.

We invited two friends out to the Parrot on a sunny Sunday afternoon and were completely disappointed by these changes:

-totally different menu - no chips and salsa, but you'll serve nachos?   You had fantastic chips and salsa!  Now, the menu is primarily burgers and sandwiches - totally not what we were expecting.  At least you have one taco and one burrito still on the menu.

-HORRIBLY slow service.  This has always been a place where you chill out, but our friends waited like 10 minutes to get their first drink after we had ours in front of us.  Food and refills were slow, and so was the check.  ..and it was not busy.

-3 girls dancing on the bar every 30 mins. It was a Sunday and families with kids were all over the restaurant.  This was during their Sunday brunch service.  Bizarre event - weird all around.

    - the bill was expensive!  We dropped over a hundred bucks for slow service, and mediocre food delivered in plastic baskets.

My advice to the Parrot would be to get back to the basics.  Greet customers upon seating and promptly serve drinks.    **Never keep customers waiting!!**

Every time, I swear to myself, "never again."  This time I'm pretty sure I mean it...

Went in last night with a party of six around 8:30, the sign said to seat yourself and we did.  About ten minutes later a server acknowledged us, but didn't actually bring menus or offer drinks - she just acknowledged that we were there.  It took another ten minutes for menus and drink orders.

I asked if there were any specials.  Server girl asked if it was after 7 - by this time it's approaching 9.  "Sorry, you just missed happy hour - it ended at 7."  Two hours earlier - damn, just missed it by a whisker.  Asked how much pints cost, she didn't know.  Asked about pitchers. "I think they're like fifteen bucks or something." No offer to find out, no acknowledgment that this is actually a fairly valid question for a patron to ask.

About fifteen minutes went by, the rest of the table received their drinks.  My beer was about five minutes behind the rest. We finally got our food ordered, though server girl offered up that they were out of chicken wings, guacamole and avocados, and like three other food staples that effectively took half the menu out of commission. "That's just how it is, it's one of those nights," she snapped at someone in my party who was disappointed that all three of the items they were considering weren't actually being served.

When the food arrived, a full hour after we'd arrived (and about 15 minutes into my wait for a drink refill), the server couldn't identify half the items she was carrying.  "I'm new here, I don't really know the food yet," she confessed, as if this was a perfectly reasonable excuse for not being able to discern that she was holding a chicken sandwich and tater tots in one hand and chicken skewers with rice in another.

I wish I could say that maybe the restaurant was just having a bad night, but it wasn't.  This is how things are virtually every time I visit. Their menu changed again in the two months since the last time i swore the place off for good, which makes a minimum of five complete menu revamps in the last year or so.  And this isn't because they're using locally sourced or seasonal foods - I'm pretty sure fried chicken wings are sold in massive frozen bags for food service year round.  Likewise with dishes involving tortillas - sometimes they're half the offerings, sometimes none.  My guess is that they just want to make sure the kitchen staff never gets comfortable enough to turn out a consistently good product, though the food is generally pretty decent, the only saving grace of this place.

The staff are constantly sub-par, rarely as rude as last night but never, ever attentive and rarely friendly. This remains the closest possible place to my home to go out, and I really wish the staff and management didn't go out of their way to make every experience miserable, but they're trying harder to make locals hate them every day.

    Seriously, never again...I hope.

    STOP CHANGING THE MENU!

The food used to be good, now its sucks. But I have a baby now and there are about 5 places to go in OB if you have a kid, and this is one of them.

Drink specials are great, thats about it.

Okay, so this review is a little skewed due to a few factors. My wife and I just ordered drinks and drinks alone. They were fine, good prices and the waitress was VERY nice and friendly. Nothing bad to say regarding those factors.

Now.... first, we walked in and was immediately struck by a terrible "bum-like" smell that lingered everywhere. We almost left. Seems like a lot of regulars from the local area. I would have been scared to eat here, especially to have seemed what we smelled.

I hope for the best, not mad, just wasn't impressed.

Yelp really needs to have the option for NO STARS because that is what I would give the Blue Parrot.  I have been here MANY times.  EVERY time I go I SWEAR I will never go back!  Yet they SUCK me back in because they are at the end of the block and we can bring the dog.

Every time we go to the Blue Parrot, and it has been multiple times per week for months now, we order the same thing...Nachos with Carne Asada ON THE SIDE.  We eat the nachos vegetarian and get the beef for the dog.  (Except for the time period in which the Blue Parrot took nachos off their menu because they changed their vibe from Mexican food to Key West cuisine.  Frozen conch anyone?)

THREE TIMES in a one-week period we put in the same order.  The nachos came out with a side of carne asada AND meat on the nachos.  We flag down the waitress and point out the error.  She apologizes profusely and takes the nachos back.  She tells us that she will take half-off the price of the nachos for the error.  The next time the nachos come out the cheese is not fully melted and there is an inadequate amount of beans.  I try to talk my friend into eating the nachos, but she just cannot eat lukewarm shredded cheese.  We flag down the waitress again (I know by this point they will be spitting in our food), apologize profusely, but point out the deficiencies in our nachos, apologize for being so picky, but, come on, they are nachos.

The third time the nachos came out (the first incident) they have put our old nachos back under the heat with the sour cream and guacamole still on.  That is just YUCK...hot sour cream and guacamole.  But by this point we eat it anyway.  We did ask for the manager and told him what happened.  He knows that we are regulars and he kind of apologized (half-heartedly) for  what happened.  He promised to discuss it with the kitchen and takes off the price of the nachos ($8.95 non-happy hour price).

The second time the nachos came out in the second incident (in the same one-week period), we explained to the waitress what happened in the first incident and asked her to please make sure that the cheese was melted.  We said we weren't in any special hurry to get our nachos; we just wanted them cooked properly.  Of course, the third batch was pretty much burnt and the chips were like eating cardboard.  BUT WE DID NOT COMPLAIN!

The third time in a one-week period that this EXACT scenario happened, the manager (the other owner...not the same owner we spoke with earlier in the week) came by to light the heater and made the mistake of petting the dog.  The topic of our nachos dissatisfaction came up, and it was clear that he had heard about our complaints.  At this point, I was sure that he was just going to tell us to stop ordering the freaking nachos if we hated them so much.  But he kind of apologized.  Whatever...

I hate to say it but I may go back because the margaritas are so damn cheap during happy hour ($2.50).  But I don't think we will order the nachos.  I am sure they will be happy about that.
I keep swearing that I will never go

Oh Em Gee. Do not go here.

Brunch with Sarah H. and a couple other friends turned into a giant disaster.

The waitress was all over the place. She looked overwhelmed and all she had to do was service like...  two tables?

We ordered Eggs & Bacon, Spinach Benedict, French Toast. It took about 45 minutes to come out, and the place was EMPTY. Then we had to wait 5 minutes for silverware. The waitress actually did other things in between us asking for silverware and us getting silverware. The food didn't even look appetizing when it came out! Immediately I look at my Spinach Benedict and it has a hair on it. Like embedded in the hollendaise on top of one of the eggs. So..... she took it back, but because it took so damn long to come out the first time, I just told her to cancel it and ate some of my friend's French Toast.

The French Toast was dry and cold and not good! Sure, they give you 6 pieces... but it's not good! It didn't even LOOK good! There was a little hair on the side of the French Toast plate that I found after a few bites. At this point, it wasn't even worth telling the waitress. Sarah H. had Eggs & Bacon, I think. She found a hair in her potatoes. Seriously. 3 plates, 3 hairs. I'm not even kidding.

Our other friend's toast was so poorly buttered it was pathetic.

The manager came by and apologized, took mine off the bill- we hadn't bothered to even bring up the rest, it was too ridiculous to even state. He gave us coupons for next time we come..... then I looked over and saw the bartender grab a handful of olives with her bare hands and plop them in a bloody mary..... and i decided i wouldn't even come back for a happy hour drink.

The place is not clean. The windowsill next to our table had dead bugs on it, and the light up beer decoration in the window was covered in dust.

I can't even contemplate how this place is open or that someone can consider anything they're doing correct in owning and/or managing this place. Do not go!

When I lived in OB I would come here all the time but I moved about a year and half ago, and haven't been back to blue parrot since. Finding myself in the neighborhood last night and looking for something to eat and drink a friend and I stopped in. Sadly the place has changed a lot. Same decor, but I noticed the menu was different and they've cut down on many of the Mexican food options.

They used to serve you chips and salsa, and when I asked for some, the waitress informed me that it would cost $2.00 and I said that it was fine. We also ordered some margaritas, and enchiladas. Margaritas came, and we reminded the waitress about the chips. Waited a bit, sipping the margaritas and wishing we had chips! About 15 minutes later the food showed up. The first thing our waitress said when she was putting down the plates was "So you probably don't want those chips anymore" No apology.

The food was mediocre, with the rice being the tastiest part. The menu said that the enchiladas came with avocado and sour cream, but there wasn't any on the plate. Also the portions seemed to have shrunk. Wasn't bad since I wasn't incredibly hungry, but I'm used to generous portions at most Mexican restaurants in San Diego.

When I got home my boyfriend was eating take out from Roberto's for dinner. He paid less, got better food, and more of it. Only go here for drinks and skip the food.

You'd think in this economy restaurants would be making an effort to keep customers, not the opposite.

I called Blue Parrot last night to see if they'd have any specials for Cinco de Mayo.  I was told they'd have the usual $10 pitchers of house margaritas (Wednesday night special from 4-close) in addition to specials on Hornitos margaritas and shots.  Perfect.

My boyfriend and I headed over there today at about 4:45, and saw the sign out in front said $10 house margarita pitchers and $4 Hornitos shots.  Sweet.

We got a table, and I ordered "the $10 margarita pitcher."  A few moments later, our server came back and said they don't have the $10 pitchers because it is a "special event."  I said I called last night to make sure they'd have it, and it has it on the sign in front.  She went to ask the manager/owner what to do.

He came over, and asked me who I talked to on the phone.  Silly me, didn't realize I was supposed to get the name of whoever it was who answered the phone and answered my simple question.  I said I didn't know the person's name, but it was a woman.  This was not enough evidence to sway him, and I was told that whoever told me there would be $10 margarita pitchers was wrong.

We said it also had the special on the sign in front.  This also was not enough evidence.  He said they don't have their normal specials during special events (which, apparently Cinco de Mayo is, even there there were only about six tables occupied).  The customer, at Blue Parrot, is wrong.

So, we took our money elsewhere.

Instead of giving us the house margarita pitcher for $10 instead of the $14 Cinco de Mayo price, Blue Parrot lost our business not only tonight, but forever.  If I owned a business, and I was advertising a price, and the customer said she called and was quoted that price, and the price was a measly $4 different from what I wanted to charge them, I'd go with customer satisfaction every time.

With three Mexican restaurants within a block of Blue Parrot, and several others in O.B., I have no reason to ever go back to Blue Parrot again. And, yes, my O.B. friends will be hearing about this as well.

After reading a few reviews about the mimosa's I decided I had to give this place a try. I came in on Easter Sunday at around noon. It was busy but we were seated right away. The patio is large and there are plenty of seats. We opted to site inside since it was a little cool and I was wearing a dress.

The service here is stellar! Everyone is very polite and friendly. The decor is very fitting for OB and reminds me of a Jimmy Buffet themed place.

The mimosa flavors are watermelon, strawberry or lemon. They also have the traditional OJ if you prefer. I went with the Watermelon Manmosa (Larger glass). It was good but not was I was looking for. My next round was a lemonade lavender drink. I was impressed with the flavor! The lavender was not over whelming but the hint of flavor was impeccable!

To eat I ordered the vegetarian tamale. Very good! Full of veggies and the red sauce was just the right amount of spiciness. The masa was not dry but moist. For you tamale lovers out there, you know what I mean.

I will definitely be back. This just might be a new favorite hang out.

Small place off the beaten path in OB. Kinda small on the inside. A bar for maybe 10 peeps and then a few high top tables and a few low tops. I can see how this place might get filled up quick on the weekends or during those busy summer days. Luckily, tonight was neither of those. Very un So Cal weather of cold and wet. So, on the suggestion of my cousin we ended up here for some grub.

Well, my staple for any mexican joint is an enchilada. They are my fav. And out here in SD, I am rarely disappointed. And I was not disappointed here either. I ordered 2 enchiladas, 1 with chicken 1 with lobster. Red sauce and guac on top. I was skeptical about the lobster one but the server said they were really, really good. She was 100% correct. Big chunks of lobster cooked just right. Not rubbery at all. Completely melted in my mouth when I bit into one just like it's supposed to. The chicken one wasn't bad at all, but I did get a little bit of fat in one piece. No biggie. Was exactly what I needed on the last dreary night I'm here in SD.

Will definitely check this place out again next time we visit.

There really isn't anything special to say about this place, unless you like florescent lighting.

The 3 stars are purely symbolic, and a tribute to the following:

    Nuf said.

The place is probably only intended for drunk ass folk to wander into, and not really worthy of a review :(
