Went here for a night cap our friend's bday!

It was very nice. Ultra modern decor.  We had our own table with a cocktail waitress.  The champagne was excellent.  May have drank a litlte too much considering everytime I took a sip the waitress filled my glass right on up.  The music was fun! We had a great time! I think the Birthday girl had a blast.  Can't comment on prices since the bday girl treated us! Too nice, too nice!

We went here late night on a Tuesday and found out it was 1/2 price bottles. That was an exciting surprise!

The bartender was very nice and offered good suggestions. We had two bottles of wine. She suggested a really good organic white, I think it was a Sauv Blanc. But it was extremely smooth and sweet, we loved it.

It was a nice time, good music playing, she didn't pester us. The interior screamed "sin" to me. It was all red and black and very modern furniture.

I don't know if they have food, I didn't see any menus but based on the atmosphere would probably only come here for light night drinks.

We were there early on a Saturday night.  The antipasto was very good as was the 3 variety flat bread pizza. Portions were more than adequate.  Our Martini's were very good too, if a bit on the expensive side.

I'm not sure why there are complaints about the service.  I found the waitstaff to be polite attentive, and prompt.  The owner even stopped by to greet us and ask if everything was okay.

Decor is ultra modern, right down to the menu being offered up via tablet computers.

Not impressed. Wine was ok and the food was sub par. Went on a very busy night but the food did not take a long time, the bartender was the best part of our night. She hustled her butt to make the bar work like a well oiled machine. She made some good recommendations but the kitchen did not deliver. The pizza was the only good item, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and mushrooms. The pappardelle with ricotta was awful, not even edible. the shrimp cocktail were fresh but the cocktail sauce was not. Being on Federal Hill there are many other options, i would pass on this one.

We went to Blush on Saturday evening (early evening) because I had a Groupon.  The bartender was very helpful and attentive, the owner came over and checked on us multiple times and even the head chef came out to say hello.  The tappas were all fabulous (we split 4 of them) and the dessert nachos were to die for!  We also had the red sangria which was delicious too.  We think we found a new "Go to" place on the Hill!

I LOVE this place. Its trendy but you won't feel out of place showing up in a Tshirt and jeans. They have tablets for menus which are fun to play with. They have a billion wines and champagnes to choose from. And for those who aren't winos, they serve beer and cocktails too. The food is amazing. Calamari, bruschetta, pizza,  and don't forget the conolies! Delicious! They have great "appy hour" Thursday is "Ladies Night" which sounds cheesy but I took a group of 4 girls here. We had at least 1 glass of wine (most of us 2) and an app the total came to $68. The wine is half off.  Oh and they have a cigar bar! Its usually pretty empty until 7 or so but still you don't feel over crowded. Its comfy too. The bathrooms are clean as well. The owner is a great guy. Very personable and he is usually there just hanging out making sure everything is going smooth. If you  have friends in town or just want to have a drink before dinner I would go here hands down.

    Friendly staff and cool decor.

The food is good- lots of picky things but if you order enough, you can definitely get full. The chef is a nice guy who always comes out to make sure you like what he has made. The owner is always there too and seems to care a lot about your experience.

I'm not really a wine drinker so can't really review what they have but I do know they have over 100 different kinds. The bartenders make good mixed drinks.

Thursday night is ladies night - everything is half off which makes it an inexpensive night out on the hill.

We came during the late afternoon on a Saturday and snagged a table by the window.  Our server handed us tablet menus, which is kind of cool, but it almost felt inefficient to keep clicking back after each menu category -- you should just view the full menu and scroll instead.  We got the wine flights ($15 for three 3-ounce pours), and the promo they had for a free wine sample (another 3-ounce pour) if you check in on Facebook.  I liked all the wines I tired -- Cakebread Souvignon Blanc, Hugel Pinot Blanc, Louis Latour Pinot Noir, and Rex Hill Pinot Noir.  The food was okay, but nothing spectacular and not really worth the price -- so, don't come hungry.  But stay thirsty, my friends!

I am a little perplexed at all the awful reviews?  I was here this past Saturday night and really enjoyed myself.

Now, I am NOT a wine drinker, my GF most certainly is, and she enjoys a good mixed drink as well.  I will admit this was not my choice, but other friends wanted to check it out, so we stopped in.  My friends waited outside at a table, there is literally like one table outside but they had it, and a very good looking waitress, in a very minimal uniform came out to help.  Now, I know, some are reading and saying (what does that have to do with anything) Well..  I am the guy that incorporates this in to the experience, because I know I am not alone, scantily clad waitresses and bartenders assist in the draw to establishments, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it, so I am incorporating this in to the review, and I am referring to the female variety..  Now, my GF and I went inside because I wanted to see the rest of the Celtics game.  The inside is very dark and lit up in a reddish color along the walls..  decent sized bar and we were able to scoot right up to the bar..  My GF perused the electronic menu for wine and thought they had a decent selection and priced reasonable.  I just ordered a Coors light and watched my game.  The bartenders, all gorgeous, was tough to keep my eye on the game, which is exactly what they want here, and it works..  I did go over the menu, some nice selections and I would most certainly dinner here some evening..

I would recommend stopping in for reasonably priced wine, cold beer, good times and some nice sights..

Great concept and needed locally but miserable execution....over several visits hoping it would get better...lousy service, uneducated staff, filthy glasses, 90 minute wait for food, incorrect bill...pass! or wait for new ownership before trying....

Do you want a wine bar where you can go and try a large variety of wines without breaking the bank or becoming stupidly drunk?  This is a pretty good choice.  They have a nice selection of wines by the glass and half glass- an attractive option.  Their flights are design your own, which allowed me to try a Chianti, Syrah and Pinot Noir.  My husband, who was driving, enjoyed two half glasses which enabled him to try something without being committed to an entire glass of a mediocre wine (he chose better, he got an awesome Malbec and Cab).

Atmosphere is a lounge- very small tables, but cozy.  I wouldn't go here again to eat a primary meal, the pasta we had was fresh and tasty but you're on Federal Hill.  The competition is stiff.  I went here for wine, I got wine, I'll be coming back.  I hope you give it a fair shot.

I'm an out of towner so I've never been here during the week, but stopped in on the first NE snow day of 2011 (tonight) and walked into a quiet bar. As a result received very personable service with Andrea, great tips on other places to visit and the wine flights ($15 for 3 3oz glasses) were a total score. No complaints on the food other than prices being a little steep, but hey, its a wine bar, not a pub, you pay for the ambiance and class of your drink of choice. If you're looking for a dive, this isn't it.

Been here 3 times to use a groupon owner said he would comp 2nd round of drinks then would not put our gift certificate toward the drinks he comped. This was not told to us until he left and the bill was presented. I will never go here again and advise all to eat at the 20 other better run places on the hill. The waitress was great looking to my straight friend but utterly horrible as a bartender and waitress her name was Andrea in case you get her also beware the groupon and other special offer scams.

    RE: Chris
Check my reviews of other places... this is the only horrendous one.  The "owner" tried to disguise your "appy hour" as a generous thing he was doing for us not a written special as it may be now.  My problem is hiding deals or pretending to "hook" up a customer and then using groupon as an excuse to back track on what was stated by the owner who then was unavailable to talk to or contact.  But if you think your place is decent then look at all the other reviews i think they tell the story just fine... even with the random five star people who must be either employees, friends or morons this place is disgusting.

usually i give detailed reviews, however i'm not going to waste my breathe, i can get this over with briefly

wine is kept 10 degrees warmer than it should, room temp doesn't mean 70

no one there knows anything about wine, including how to open, pour, and so forth

mixed drinks is the way to go

decent but typical wine list, the food was only decent, and they were out of burgers. Ordered the antipasto instead, and it didn't include everything that was on the menu. Plus, we were charged for something we didn't order. There are plenty of other choices in the area... this place should really step up their game.

I should have stayed home and made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Blush Wine Bar is not good AT ALL. Everything about the decor, the music, the wait staff is extremely tacky. I felt as though we were listening to the 23 year old bartender's ipod. It was tacky music and extremely loud. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and ordered two sangrias, which were mediocre. I placed an order for apps and specified we will start with the guacamole and chips, "vegetarian" nachos and a cheese pizza. The ditzy bartender did not write down the order and became distracted while I was placing my order, forcing me to repeat. The food finally comes out, but only the guacamole. Then comes out a generous handful of nachos, a half of teaspoon of sour cream with grade D beef smothered in cheese. She obviously did not hear me specify the "vegetarian" nachos. It was rancid looking. We moved onto the pizza, thinking who can screw up pizza!? My pores were clogged instantly due to the amount of salt spread out on that pizza. There were 4 total slices, we ate two, and left the remaining two for the trash. Needless to say, I will never go back. Consider yourself warned!

What is with the chairs and couches?  You feel like you are in the front seat of a GrandePrix car. And not in a good, exciting kind of way.

Wine list is certainly long. But too long as some wines that we tried in our flight were well past their prime. Well past.
My friends had mixed drinks and seemed to enjoy flavors, though one asked the bartender to make her drink again.

People watching was "jersey shore"-esque, which made for comedy.

Went because I had a coupon.  Probably won't go back.

*Did not eat the food- this is a review of drinks/atmosphere/service

Bevys:  Delicious assortment of martinis and wine.  Very friendly staff that are willing to help you find the right wine for you.  Prices are as you would expect for Federal Hill.  Wines range greatly.

Atmosphere: A spectator sport of watching cougars, guidos, and guidettes volley for who has the tightest clothes and can go home with the hottest gal/richest guy.  Ridiculous oversized tables seriously limit the floor space available for standing.  It can get very crowded.  Slightly perplexed at the red and black interior color for a place called Blush... but that is beside the point.

    The interior is tacky.

The website is a pain in the ass to use and is littered with misspellings and typos.

Blush is the shitty American version of French rosé.  That's what you chose to name your "upscale wine bar"?  And you list white zinfandel by the glass and as part of a flight?  You should be embarrassed.

A "wine bar" that doesn't list vintages?  Inexcusable.

The actual wines leave quite a bit to be desired.  Nothing is interesting.  It's all the usual suspects that you can get anywhere.  There's a lot of supermarket wine here.

Another shitty Providence wine list.  Awesome.

We went there on a Friday night after dinner.  Nice decor, comfy couches, decent drinks.  That's about it.

For having 3 bartenders on a bar thats seats about 15, the service was especially SLOW.  The bartenders were running around behind the bar like chickens with their heads cut off.  Was more distracting than anything.

    Try the lemon drop martini....

B+ on presentation, D- on execution.

I went here for restaurant week.  It was a Wednesday so we had a free wine tasting of 3 wines!  The servings to these tastings were large, and best - you could try all 3!  Their wine selection is quite vast, and they have a nice display area at the bar.

We ordered off of the restaurant week prefix menu - which looked just like their regular menu.

First, we had an appetizer of the tequila braised beef nachos.   It was a perfect sized portion. The cheese was nicely melted, with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side.  However, the beef was sparse, and some parts of it were cold.  There was very little taste to it at all.  The chips and cheese themself were great, so we just ate those without the meat on them.

We both got an entree. I chose the Rosemary Pistou, which was horrible.  Do not order their pizzas.  The crust is beyond thin, and feels like you are eating a piece of weird thin cardboard.  The entire thing breaks as I bit into it.  The only thing I liked on it was the sausage, so I ate about 3 bites total from my rather large cardboard pizza.  My fiance ordered the Parma Prosciutto Panini.  It was pretty good. Very large size, and came with either a side salad of mixed greens or chips.  Because I hated my pizza so much, I shared half of his panini.

For dessert we had a piece of their sinful chocolate cake, and chocolate seduction.  The chocolate seduction was a glass of chocolate wine (yum!) and a plate of approx 4 cut up strawberries surrounding whipped cream.  It was decent, but the wine was what made it!  My fiances cake was served on an extremely hot plate.  His cake's frosting was melting off of it.  I think they put the cake slice into the oven to "warm it up, which was nice for the first few bites, but it was cold on the inside.  We would have liked it room temp, like most cake slices are served, or even a little cold.

The service was incredibly s.l.o.w. There was one waitress on for most of the time, and the poor cook (who seemed like a really nice guy who cares about his food..too bad the pizzas were yucky!) would even be coming out to serve food.  Then he would dash back into the kitchen to finish his other orders.  There was also a gentleman who seemed to be an owner who would occasionally help out.  Finally another waitress joined, but we waited 20 mins to get our check, and then 20 mins to get it back.

The decor is quite confused.  I like all of the stone work, the bar area, the black and red theme, but the couches honestly look like something straight out of a bachelor pad.  They are black and red, and very odd.  The music is very varied, and doesn't seem to fit, and there is a very awkward fake potted tree in the middle of the couches.

I think it's a nice place to sit at the bar, have some free wine tasting, and enjoy good conversation.  I also think the owner needs to get rid of the furniture, fake tree, hire a few more people, and fix the pizza situation.

Finally a wine bar in Providence! The place is very trendy which is fitting of its' location. They have a good variety of wines to choose from for flights or by the glass. They are very generous on Wednesday nights when they offer a complementary tasting of 4 wines. However, they are not so generous with the pours by the glass. Check it out and share what you think!

I love the concept of a wine bar - a place to try different types of wine in a relaxed setting.  This place follows through with the selection of wines and the fact that you can order a flight of 3 wines.

Check it out on Wednesdays when they do a complimentary wine tasting of 4 wines.  The funny thing is that the pours during the wine tasting were generous while the pours on the wines bought were stingy.  And for the price of some of the wines, a stingy wine pour is a definite draw back.

They also only had one server on for the night and while she was working her butt off, the service was choppy because there was too much for her to handle on her own.

They also have a menu of cheese plates, sandwiches, and pizzas - a nice compliment to the wines.

The flavors of the pizza I ordered - 4 cheese with prosciutto - was nice but the pizza was a little on the burnt side.

The decor was a little too manly for a wine bar - comfy leather chairs/sofas in red and black that look like they were pulled from a race car.

In all, it's a nice concept and I will definitely go back for their Wine down Wednesdays or one of the other special nights (they seem to have some sort of special every week night), but without the specials, things are a little overpriced.
