    Meh
BnG was good but wasn't great in my opinion. Maybe it's all the hype leading up to it.

It's a smaller restaurant, you order from the cashier and take a seat. It's quick and efficient.

The bulgogi came with rice, kim chi, and cabbage with thousand island dressing. The meat had a good flavor and was thinly sliced. It was good and satisfied my craving but I've had better bulgogi with more bold flavor. The BnG burger was good but I wasn't a fan of the bun. Decent enough, not mind blowing. The fries were topped with cheese, bacon, and kim chi. Yummmmmm. Fries were so crispy and all the flavors meshed really well together. The Philly cheesesteak egg roll was also very good and is only available on the weekends. These four items ran us about $40.

UMAMI burger is where its at!! Its a taste I can not describe but the most unreal combination of flavors.  As others have stated, the portions are big so its better to share :) Since moving to Chicago, I have tried many different kinds of cultural foods but this is definitely my favorite, an American delight mixed with Korean infusion, def. worth it to take the time to go all the way up North to finally try this delicious burger!

    Yum!

Very delicious, not so nutritious.   The philly egg rolls were a delight -- all dressed up in a light sesame essence and really tasty, just-right crunchy, egg-roll skins and the whole shebang is drizzled in cheese.

But (like Noon Hour Grill) Bop N Grill uses really crummy/cheapo cheese.  Like the kind that one could get at 711 to top their nachos.  What's up w/that?

The Husb got cheesy fries w/bacon.   This dish was good -- but again, I must harp on the cheese, and I did when I tried it.  And the Husb said he got them cuz he knew I'd harp.

    Nice.

    And correct.

The burger was good too.  Next time I will just order a burger and give it more attention.

this place is "off the hook" good.

if i have to point out one bad thing that will be it is little greasy for asian style food.

other than that, everything on the menu is outstanding good.

A DDD location, Bop N Grill puts a new spin on Korean-American fusion by offering a a menu where items are under $10. The menu is broken down into bop plates (a play on bi bim bop) and burgers. The bop plates feature some form of protein (bulgolgi, bbq chicken, katsu, etc) rice, a side salad, and kimchi. They offer a wide variety of burgers, from kimchi to pizza styles. The fries are also on point.

However, the most unique fusion item on the menu hands down is the cheesesteak eggrolls only offered on weekends. Bulgolgi meat inside of an eggroll topped with cheese. Simply ingenious.

I am curious as to why the Evanston location closed -- if they weren't receiving enough business, shame on Northwestern students. The restaurant model is perfect for any college town.

The food was DELISH!! Everyone ordered a burger. I had the Kimchi Burger. It was really greasy, but so worth it! They even toast the buns! (I'll try to post a picture.) Luckily, my friends and I went on a Saturday because the Philly Bulkogi eggrolls are only available on the weekends. I tried some of my friend's kimchi fries and that was really good. We were iffy about the fries at first, but ordered them anyway because you only live once. Definitely no regrets on what we ordered here. I wouldn't mind coming back.

Note: My friend's sister (who is Korean) came with her family and they ordered the bop plates. She said they were mediocre. With that said, I'll probably just stick with the burgers.

Tip: Go on the weekend because the Philly Bulkogi eggrolls are only available on the weekends and it's limit one order (maybe two) per person.

You're in luck if you're in the area! It's way up north from downtown, and unless you have a car, you gotta make a trek up here. Yea, Guy Fieri fans, be disappointed at how far this place is.

But since you are probably checking out this place via yelp, that means you're nearby! In other words, CONGRATS! Eat here!

Despite being Korean, I don't eat much kimchee, let alone Korean food. So ordering the kimchee burger and kimchee fries, would be kimchee overload on my end. But I did and thankfully, it came out fine on the bottom end too :P

I started snacking on the fries first because the burger was so massive. So massive, that you have to mentally prepare yourself by nibbling at other things before consuming it. But I couldn't stop snacking and picking at it. Rich in flavor (not spicy), crispy fries, bah I want some now!

Burger--great. They have the option of a pretzel bun for additional $1 or 2. Gotta down it ASAP with all the juices dripping (hence the mental preparation necessary to go big or go home). No complaints here. The fried egg is always a good addition to anything. The kimchee could be a bit more flavorful in the burger. I think the fried egg masks that flavor.

All in all, I'll come back, get fat and go home happy. Unfortunately for me, I left sad because I lost my cashmere Jack Spade gloves around here. Not their fault, but sadness.

OMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMG! The burgers there are so delicious! I had the La Brassiere (caramelized onions, bleu cheese, some korean mayo on a pretzel bun dusted with parmesan) and my hubby had the Unami... so freaking good! And the fries were perfect. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Moved to the area, heard the hype, had to try it out. Place felt divey and I really liked that. Service was good and friendly. Order at the counter, make your drink, take a seat type of place.

    First visit-
Father burger and kimchi fries. The father burger was perfect. I couldn't even get over the taste in my mouth. It was so good, it is the reason I came back with friends the next time. However, the kimchi fries were soggy and that is my fault. My recommendation is to go back and order them when you are done eating your burger. They were alright but nothing delicious.

    Second visit-
Bavarian and onion rings for me. Umami and fries for husband. The Bavarian did not shine, at all. Maybe the pretzel bun just took away all the flavor I don't know but it was just plain wrong. Plain being the keyword there. It had no taste at all. BUT WOW the umami was delightful. On the same playing field as the Father burger. Onion rings were nasty. Had to ask for ranch and naturally there was none so I tossed them in the garbage. The fries plain were definitely the way to go. Maybe I'll ask for toppings on the side next time and be "one of those people". LOL

I've lived within walking distance of this restaurant for 6 months and finally gave it a go this Friday night - it's fast, cheap, warm, tasty, and BYOB, with huge portions (Note: if you go BYO, bring your own bottle opener - they don't have a free one to borrow!)  I found it interesting that behind the counter they sell 3 different types of long and short sleeve t-shirts with an interesting take on the Chicago flag, with burgers instead of stars.

I ordered the teriyaki chicken dinner and my bf ordered the bi bim bop plate,  Mine was delicious, spicy and with high quality chicken meat in every bite (a pleasant surprise for fast-ish food).  The slaw on the side was a cool contrast.  My bf devoured his meal as well, although he wasn't happy when we found out that the chef prepares the kimchi with msg.  I thought it tasted ok, although I'm not a kimchi connoisseur.

The place was bustling - packed with all kinds of folks, from Loyola kids to business people wearing suits and rolling suitcases, and everything in between.  And, it was great to find a place that was comfortably heated in the middle of January and that didn't give you an arctic blast every time someone went in and out the door - which happened a lot, since takeout is big here too.

Overall, it's a good bang for the buck - two people for a little over $20, with a doggie bag.  MSG issue aside, I'd definitely go again.

I was more than excited about our planned trip to Bop N Grill.  Partly for the food and partly to hang out with a good friend (Renita M).  Both the company and the food made me smile.

By the time I got there I was starving.  I almost died!  Because I was so hungry I ordered way more food than necessary.  I ordered a philly egg roll, the umami burger, and fries.  This is one of those places were there are so many things I want to try my 'eyes are bigger than my stomach' instincts take over.  The philly cheese steak (or bulgogi) egg roll was really good.  You can only get them on the weekend and only two per visit.  One is probably plenty of food as a side order for most people.  The umami burger was really good.  A perfectly cooked burger topped with a delicious mixture of diced mushrooms cooked with butter and truffle oil, gouda, and other delicious things.  The fries were ok, not the love of my life, but I can't turn down fries.

Bop N Grill is counter service, not very big, and slightly awkwardly set up.  The "order here" line is between the seating and the "pick up here".  Which means you have to bug everyone waiting to order to get through to pick up your food.  That doesn't make much sense to me, especially since there's a counter that's mostly unused over by the seating.  So, I played stupid and stood at that counter all wide eyed saying "I think you called my number?" with a big dumb smile (ok fine, I always look like that, that's why it's so easy for me to play dumb).  I hope they use their front patio for outdoor seating in the spring, fall, summer.  Would be a nice addition to the small seating area and a nice dining experience.

I'm sure I'll make it back to Bop N Grill sooner or later.  There are more than a few burgers I'd like to try.  If they had beer to go with my delicious burger I'd love Bop N Grill even more.

Delicious! Got the umami burger, kimchi fries and the Philly Bulkogi eggrolls. Let me first say this, these fries are much much better that the kimchi fries from del seoul, but still the kimchi wasn't spicy or sour enough. (I'll call this level, white people spicy)

The burger..mmmm. The bun was perfectly roasted and coated with a lil bit of oil, the burger was so juicy and dripping all over the place, it was the fastest I've finished a burger in a long time.

But my favorite had to be the philly bulkogi eggrolls, the sweetness of the sauce/marinade intermingling with the cheese and crunch of the eggrolls. Will never have enough of it.

    This is fusion done well.

I drove all the way to Rogers Park for two things: bulgogi egg rolls and the delightful company of Ms Kate M.

As a bonus, I had lots of kimchi.

I got lucky and found a three-hour free spot. There is also paid parking and an el stop nearby. It's a small place, counter service, with the both good and bad consequences of being featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The menu is about half burgers with Korean influence, half Korean-Hawaiian influenced plates.

I ordered way too much food, I have to say. Share. Split. The portions are large and filling.

Bulgogi egg roll: one large egg roll, split in two and drizzled with sauce and sesame seeds. Delicious. Apparently they are so popular you can only order two max.

Kimchi burger: soft roll. Well cooked patty. Tons of cheese, kimchi, bacon and an egg. So delicious, so messy, I ate about three bites, my hands were covered with goo, I gave up and used a fork.

Kimchi fries: awesome lightly battered crispy fries, covered in cheese, bacon, kimchi and scallions. Really tasty, again with the fork.

I really dig kimchi, but it might have been too much. The flavors of the toppings somewhat overwhelmed the burger and fries. And I really ordered too much, between the two of us we could have eaten one order of fries and half an egg roll with our burgers, or something.

Still the flavors are unusual and really bold, and I enjoyed it.

One other note in locale, there is no shelter from the draft, so if it's cold, sit further back and hope not too many people come in.

Ever since I had Kogi truck in LA, I've been a huge proponent of good korean fusion food.   BopNGrill was the first one I found in  Chicago that got me hooked.  I've had a variety of their burgers and plates.  My favorites are the BNG, Pizza, Kimchi, and Loco Moco burgers.  Burgers are made fresh, super juicy, and the flavor combinations are ridiculously amazing.  Also a must is the kimchi fries.  The kimchi is grilled to perfection, with a touch of bacon and slathering of cheese whiz on top of perfectly crisp fries.  And if you're there on Fri or Sat, the philly (bulgogi) egg rolls are to die for, but beware, it sells out fast.  If you're not feeling burgers, the meat plates are also very good.

I've been a frequent since the first BopNGrill was opened in Evanston.  I don't see that trend stopping anytime soon.

Well well well.....you've decided to mix burgers and Korean food?!?!  This place is all that is right with food.  I carried out and my only complaint is that I expected to pay less than $28 for a dinner for two when carrying out in Rogers Park.  At the same time the food was fresh, excellent, and creative.  We split some sort of crazy burger with truffled mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, and other goodness.  We also ordered the Bop with the "spicy chicken" it was awesome and super filling.  The item that put us over the top was the kimchee fries.  I am not the biggest kimchee fan, but these fries won me over.  I guess for health purposes the fries can be a once a year thing, but I would come back here in a heartbeat!

I have been here several times, and it never disappoints !!!

The mix of Korean and American brings a unique flair to the food itself.

All their burgers are worth the price, my favorite being the umami burger. You can taste the truffle and gouda melt in your mouth.

The place is small, but warm and welcoming. It's one of those places that you can be proud to tell all of your out-of-state friends that "it is only in Chicago."

This is my second time here and I can say that it will in no way be my last!

Tried the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls filled with bulgogi beef for the first time and they did not disappoint. One order of two eggrolls that were split in half and drizzled with cheese sauce (like the kind they put on nachos at the stadium I think) was enough for the six of us as they were very rich and packed with flavor.

An order of chicken katsu could've easily served two people with an enormous blanket of crunchy fried chicken breast draped over white rice and the standard sides of kimchi and thousand Island dressed shredded cabbage. It was served with a teriyaki sauce in a small lidded container.

Forgetting the perfect mixed plate order I had the last time I was here this time I again looked to have the spicy option and ordered the bul dak plate with spicy stir fry chicken. What I forgot was that it is resting on two scoops of white rice with the standard sides of kimchi, small side salad thousand Island dressing. It's just not enough lettuce and too much rice for me. Should have gotten the same combination as before - with the bul dak chicken on top of the bibimbap plate. It's a much healthier and interesting dish because it has no rice, has a lot of mixed greens and the addition of a fried egg on top of the meat with stir fried (or were they marinated?) carrots and jalapenos on the side.

The Bavarian burger on the pretzel roll was tasty but for me lacked spice. Kimchi french fries were quite the bomb. It is a bit of overkill in the calorie department so don't order it if you are really watching your weight or if you are only one or two people and don't want to get grossed out if you finish it.

All in all this is a great place just look at the menu and make sure you ask for substitutions if you don't want something specific on your dish. It might cost you a dollar to make the switch but it's well worth it.

I've been to Bop N' Grill three times. Each time I was satisfied with my food, but left wishing it hadn't been so hard on my wallet.

Don't get me wrong, the food is good, and it's right around the corner. However, it's a tad pricey for what it is. $12-$15 for a burger? No thanks.

The idea is cool, but it's too pricey. I find it hard paying more than $10 for a meal at a quickie burger joint, so I might be jaded.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile since I'll give most of the Korean fusion places a go-around. I order the umami burger with truffled mushrooms and gouda. The bun was fantastic, and the meat was perfectly juicy and greasy. It just wasn't THAT mindblowing, maybe I need to go back and try one of those huge ones with the sticks in it.

The kimchi fries were okay (blasphemous?). The kimchi is "caramelized" so it takes more like kimchi jigae then kimchi. Anyway, the fries were crispy and good, and I'm proud that kimchi has become more mainstream-- my friend and I were talking about how we would have never imagined that as kids. Fun fusion diner food when you're bored with the same ol'.

My gal pal was taking me to the area around the Loyola Red Line station and we wanted a bite to eat. Going north on Sheridan we noticed a bar, a closed pizza place, a Chipotle and some mysterious grill place that she was not sure about. I saw the sign for bopNgrill and I was in! I had been to the location in Evanston (now closed I hear) and really liked it. This location is fairly sizeable, with a narrow but lengthy interior and restrooms in the back.

The young lady at the counter was very patient with us as we gawked at all the mouthwatering choices on the menu. It is an interesting selection split between Korean and Hawaiian style platters, and stacked burgers. My friend went with the le brasserie burger and I went with the Bavarian burger. Each came out medium cooked with a nice variety of toppings and sturdy pretzel buns. While the burgers are very good, the cheese fries are even better. We each upgraded to a combo meal by adding the fries and fountain pop. The fries were tasty and crunchy, and the cheese sauce did not overwhelm the fries. To top it off, on a whim I ordered a Philly cheesesteak egg roll. The chalkboard menu noted that this is available only on weekends and they have a limit of two on an order. Hmm must be good. No it was great! The egg roll is split lengthwise, revealing the meaty filling crammed in the crunchy skins and topped by a drizzle of cheese sauce. A delicious and filling experience, and I would love to come back here and try other menu items.

Man I LOVE this place.  Kimchi burger, Umami burger, and the kimchi fries are my favorite!  All of the rice bowls, bibimbap, and especially the tonkatsu.  I'm getting hungry while writing this!

We ended up here after I saw a picture of a burger on instagram. We went Saturday around 6ish and the place was relatively busy, the husband ordered the Umami burger and he was very pleased, he said it was flavorful and was satisfied. I ordered the Chicken katsu, the chicken was very crispy and overall it had a good taste, however next time I go I'll stick to the burgers, the chicken was not anything special and not worth the $9. We shared an order of bacon cheese fries and the fries alone were perfect, we also had a philly cheese steak eggroll, OMG was it delicious. Overall the food gets a 4 (chicken 3 and burger 5), service 4. I'll definitely be back to try their burgers.

Great weekend place for hangovers or friends visiting the neighborhood for the first time. The double whammy Chipotle next door only adds an extra cherry on top

Going overboard with both Kimchi burger and Kimchi fries for this $14 indulgent meal had to be done but risky for a first visit.

Almost a hole in the wall kinda place, the location is literally squeezed between two walls. Front door parking was somehow a challenge on this busy night and surrounding streets offered a better option.

Once inside making my way to the order counter was almost an obstable course of crammed tables and people walking out with their takeout orders. This 15ft wide corridor isn't the most feng shui venue.

Staff was young and dynamic during my visit. Menu as expected was creative and nicely twisted around a few korean flavors.

The Kimchi fries was nicely spiced and loaded with Kimchi flavors but after a few bites turned into a "cheese dip goo swim pool". The burger on the other hand was nicely textured and offered a promessing challenge after a few bites. Extra napkins is recommended this feast did turned into a sloppy mess real quick. The flavor was almost too blend for an asian inspired item but interesting enough for a second visit with a different order next time.

The menu may hide other gems but only time will tell.

So good! Kind of out of the way, but I had heard Korean burgers are delicious. I was not disappointed. From the outside the place is very inconspicuous, I would have walked past it without noticing if i wasn't going there specifically. Inside their walls are lined with awards and newspaper mentions, so you know it's a good place.

I had the Umami burger = truffled mushroom duxelle, sun-dried tomato confit, togarashi mayo, bacon and smoked gouda. The burger looked very simple when it arrived, but the flavors were amazing and went together well.

We shared a basket of kimchi fries too, which I highly recommend! They were kind of like chilli cheese fries, but so much better!

    I'd definitely go again.

Bop n Grill, why did you open a better location at Loyola instead of NU :'[  I'll probably never cook again.

The first time I tried the umami burger, I had a bite and wanted to eat the whole thing. though it wasn't my meal :'[ I got the kimchi burger that time instead, and it's a nice burger, though nothing special.  I can barely taste how kimchi works itself into the burger. Good burger, but nowhere near the flavor explosion that is the umami burger.
but bng burger is kind of ordinary but the egg on top is always the perfect touch.

The loco moco plate is perfectly savory. the Father... oh my that one is like a heart attack.

I think... 5 stars just for umami burger alone, but everything else there is all solid. SO GOOD.

My husband and I went into Rogers Park, in August,  specifically for lunch and a taste of the fantastic looking food we saw on TripleD.  Bop n Grill did not disappoint!

I had the Umami burger - truffled mushroom duxelle, sun-dried tomato con-fit, togarashi mayo, bacon, smoked Gouda.  OMG!  An explosion of taste and texture!  The truffled mushroom was, for me, the best part!

My husband staying true to form had the Father Burger  - double patty, fried egg, beer battered onion rings, bacon, sharp cheddar/ American, BBQ sauce.  It was a big hit!  The BBQ sauce was tangy with some heat and the onion rings were golden brown and not at all greasy!

We sat outside for lunch, the restaurant was pretty crowded by the time we were eating.  Sorry to say the Chipotle next door was pretty empty (I hate to see empty businesses!).

We will go back because I want to try the bop plates!!  Specifically the Shrimp (or Fish) Katsu...

    Happy Dinning!

I'd been wanting to eat here because I used to dorm across the street back in '05. That was when eating at Chipotle was a big deal. I finally trekked up north and ate lunch here with my bf. I got the kimchi burger with fries and my bf got the bbq chicken bowl.

The battered fries were awesome, but...they were battered fries. Can't go too wrong with that. I should have gotten the kimchi fries, but didn't want to overdose on kimchi. No such thing because their kimchi (or kimchi in general) is amazing. The burger as a whole was meh. The slaw was tasteless and the meat wasn't really juicy or flavorful.

I'm glad people are enjoying this place, as I probably would have when I was a Loyolan, but since I'm usually hanging down in the 1000's North, I won't be making any special trips back up there.

After seeing this place on DDD, I decided to make the trek up north to see what these philly cheese egg rolls were all about. Showed up around 11:15 on Friday (since the egg rolls are only available on the weekends) and there was no line at all let alone anyone in the dining area. The service was great right from the get go and the girl at the counter was friendly and helpful.

I stuck with the famous items since this was my first time, Umami burger, kim chi fries, and philly egg rolls. After we ordered and sat down, the place started to fill up. When we got our food I was really impressed, it came out just how I was expecting it.

The taste of all the food was pretty crazy, definitely something that you can't normally find. I think the asian fusion really jived well and I was very impressed with the kim chi fries, who woulda thought bacon, cheese, fries AND kim chi would work, but somehow they do!

I for sure plan on coming back to here, definitely worth the trip up north.

A trip up north on the Red Line took my arch enemy and I to Bop N Grill today for lunch. This place had a lot of hype which always makes me a bit skeptical. I must say the hype is justified.

We both had the umani burger and split the kimchi fries and an order of Philly egg rolls. Burgers are not something I regularly order, but I have to say theirs was fantastic. The things that made the umani burger great were the truffled mushroom duxelle and the smoked gouda. The bacon was mostly hidden under the sauces but still gives a subtle saltiness. The kimchi fries were also very good. The fries have a nice crunch which doesn't get lost under the cheese and the kimchi is flavorful without being pungent.

At $4 a piece, the Philly egg rolls might be the most expensive egg roll I've ever eaten but also the most delicious. After having these, I can definitely understand why they impose a limit of two per person.  They taste just like a cheese steak except with an added crunch. Definitely do not miss these.

Prices are pretty reasonable: Our burgers were $9, kimchi fries $6, and egg rolls $4.

If you like burgers, Bop N Grill puts an interesting twist on things. Their other more traditional Korean food looks delicious too. If you're in the area, definitely hit up Bop N Grill.

Wow I crave this food!  The Loco Moco is my favorite plate.  It's two burgers patties over rice with some type of glaze sauce and a fried egg.  Way better than it sounds!  Most plates come with a salad and kimchi which is great; I try to eat veggies and stay away from bread.  The grilled Tilipia is awesome too. Again served over rice with salad and kimchi.  Everything I've tried are large portions for me and usually can bring home leftovers.  Others had commented about not finding healthy options and I disagree.

Everything I've had is tasty and I've been a repeat customer.  Staff is always very friendly and warm.  The decor is more than sufficient and is always clean.  Food takes some time as all items are cooked to order, but it is always worth the wait... or just call ahead.

I remember going to school across the street and stuffing my face here when it was Gold Coast Dogs because GCD is so good.

Now, it's BNG, and it's so good.

I never got to try the original location in Evanston, even though I drove past it regularly. I always thought it was some neighborhood greasy spoon, until people not from that area started to talk about it, and the Rogers park location opened up.

Umami burger: really good, but super-undercooked on one side.

Kimchi fries were super good, but you have to eat them hot. They're really awful when cold.

I came here on a Saturday evening with a few friends to grab a bite..there wasn't a wait upon arrival, but it did start to get packed after we ordered... even if there's a wait.. it's nice because there's a waiting area so you can sit and wait for the food as you look for a table or if you're just picking up food to go..

perfect place to come on a first date!! (jk or am i?) ..
for the guys: if the girl (your date) doesn't order a burger/eat a burger in front of you when you come here.. it means they're not comfortable around you yet...and if they do eat it.. it's messy to eat so don't judge them!! :)

for the girls: don't judge the guy for being too messy when eating a burger here... :)

    ok anyways..

    foood critic time!!
Bibim burger: contains veggies, sweet & spicy chili sauce, fried egg, nori, scallions..it tasted good.. just like bibim bap minus the bap on a bun and very filling..very messy to eat though..

bNg burger: contains fried egg, 1000 island, jalapenos, sharp cheddar, bacon, romaine lettuce, grilled onions and tomatoes.. my friend tried this burger and said it was spicy but good... so if you can't spicy food..ask for the jalapenos on the side maybe...

umami burger: contains truffled mushroom, sun-dried tomato, togarashi mayo, bacon, smoked gouda..my friend tried this burger and said it tasted good...

kimchee burger: for all the kimchee fans..contains caramelized kimchi, fried egg, sharp cheddar, bacon, kimchi mayo, shredded cabbage.. my friend tried this and said it was too much kimchee for her... so unless you LOVE kimchee.. maybe you shouldn't get this burger until you have tried the other burgers..

kimchee fries:  contains caramelized kimchi, cheese sauce, bacon, scallions, sesame seed...they were delicious..the fries were crispy and the kimchee toppings were good (they had enough for your taste buds to absorb the flavor)..i've tried kimchee fries before at another restaurant and gotta say the kimchee fries here did taste better....the portion was enough to share amongst 4 girls since the burger was soo filling...

sizes/portions: 1 burger per person will make your stomach feeling content or full... kimchee fries (maybe share 2 orders per 4 ppl OR.. 1 order per 4 ppl...)

eggrolls: too bad they were sold out... i couldn't try them..!! :( ...maybe next time..

customer service: the people here were friendly.. no major complaints..wish the tables were cleaner tho.. i ended up wiping it down prior to sitting down..

costs: ~$9 for a burger (to be exact..my bibim burger was $8.80 which includes tax)... expect to pay up to $20 for burger, drink & fries..

atmosphere: good place to come with friends... indoor and outdoor seating....

parking: street parking is available... or if you take the train. .the CTA is close by..

I would definitely come here again to try the other burgers... and hopefully one day I can try the eggrolls....:)

After seeing their Philly Cheesteak Egg Roll on a local food show, I made it a point to stop by and give it a try. My 2 little girls love Philly cheese steak sandwiches.

So on Labor Day Monday, I fought and worked to parallell park in a tiny spot on busy Sheridan Road to give my family a taste of this unique item.

I walk in and see this black board behind the register advertising the famous Philly Cheesteak Egg Roll in huge chalk colored Batman "KAPOW" letters. Then in smaller letters, it read "Only served on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays". Then another disclaimer was on the bottom of the board "Only 1 order per person". I get to the front of the line and ask the cashier, are you serious about this? She said "Yes, we make only so many a day and just on the weekends". I said "Got it" and did a 180 out the door.

Wow, what is going on with the culinary world and small business today?? Is the M.O. out there to tease, not please the paying customer? I heard the buzz, made the trip, got my money out, got 4 mouths to feed in the car, can I just have my food? Why must we beg, jump thru hoops, and follow so many rules to have a pleasurable dining experience?

Looks like this family will never know how wonderful the Philly Cheesteak Egg Roll can be.
