I had my son's graduation dinner in the private room with approx. 15 guests. Right from the start about six drunken guys walked through the room to smoke outside. When they came back in the room from outside one of the guys an absolute lunatic comes over to me and promises not to enter the room again. The guy was so crazy I didn't pay attention to him. We were served the 1st course which was salad and then the 2nd course which was pasta and both tables were filled with like forty dirty dishes. I was going to clean the tables myself. I had to get up and go find the waitress who was hanging out in a sidebar and ask her to clean all of the dirty dishes. Ok, this is where the night gets very interesting. The drunken lunatic I spoke of earlier comes back into the room and motions behind my 5 year old nieces buttocks. I get up again and ask the waitress to make sure this guy does not come into the room again. My sister has 5 year old twins a boy and a girl. As my sister is taking my nephew to the bathroom, this disgusting drunken lunatic comes out of nowhere again and offers to take my 5 year old nephew to the bathroom. My bother told the guy to get the hell out of the room. At this point I talk to the waitress again about this guy. She says that she spoke to the bartender numerous times but he said he's a regular. Now this was the last straw my 16 year old son gets up and goes into the bathroom and the lunatic I spoke of earlier follows him into the bathroom and says what up big guy. As the dinner is wrapping up, about seven drunk guys walk through the room again to smoke in the back. We leave my sons graduation dinner in total disgust. A beautiful day ruined by a disgusting pig and very bad service. I call the owner that following Monday and explain everything that happened. He was really in disbelief that all of this occured but does believe me. I tell him about the guy following the kids to the bathroom not once but twice and the same guy waving his hand behind my nieces buttocks. He knew exactly who I was talking about. I tell him by definition what I think that guy is a pedophile and he says no. What do you call a grown man who follows and offers to take children to the bathroom.I told him even if this guy spends $100.00 a night, its bad business to have someone like that in your bar, he agrees. Â He tells me that he will call me back that he wants to talk to the waitress, bartender, and bouncer. Guess what, 31 days later never heard from the guy again. BAD, BUSINESS, BAD SERVICE, BIG WASTE OF $650.00.
Review Source:Came her recently for my wife's cousins wedding reception and honestly besides from the happy couple everything at Birdie's was a disaster. The service was really awful, it was passed appetizers to start and nobody ever came around to pick up dirty napkins or used toothpicks GROSS. The food itself was bland and cold. Nobody ever asked if you needed refills on drinks or to check on anyone. And to top it off the manager and head waitress gave my wife's cousin (the groom!) a hard time about the bill because some guests ordered fountain soda and he didn't want to include it! On their wedding day they are being yelled at over fountain soda which probably costs the bar next to NOTHING! I know a lot of people in the area and I've already told them to never come here, and I suggest YOU DO THE SAME!!!
Review Source:If you're in the neighborhood and can't get into Woodhaven House (don't bring a large group), Bridies will be more than happy to accommodate. Staff was friendly and accommodated our large party (14) and plied us full of drinks and food. Usual assortment of burgers and wings, but they had some entrees too. The wings were not that hot, mostly tabasco, but the food was tasty and they had a good selection of beers on tap. The chocolate lava cake was delicious.
Review Source:Bridie's was ok. Â We arrived in a group of 7 and they were able to accommodate us after about 5 minutes. Â From reading other reviews, I found out that they have a new menu. Â 20 different wings and 20 different burgers. Â Something for everyone. Â There was a whole other side of the menu we didn't even check out. Â Practically everyone at the table had a burger except for one or two. Â The burgers took awhile to come out. Â Approximately 25 minutes waiting but the waitstaff was attentive and made sure to bring us plenty of soda and water. Â
I ordered the Metro Burger which comes with guac, sauteed onions, and chipotle mayo. Â I had a side of sweet potato fries (at no extra cost). Â The burger was seasoned nicely and juicy. Â The fries were sweet and crisp. Â The mayo had a hint of spice which was nice. Â All in all we had a good experience. Â One friend's burger didn't come out with the rest and was sent to another table by accident. Â She had to wait and eventually decided to just take it to go. Â The burger was reduced by half but we felt it should have been free after the extremely long wait. Â
Will be back to try Bridie's out again.
I have been going to Bridies for the last 8 months and i can tell you Bridies has come along way in the last 2 years . I feel like the ownership brought back Bridies to its roots of a great local Pub with good people and good food. They upgraded the place and if you are a sports fan like myself, what a awesome place to watch sports there are big flat screen TV"s everywhere you turn.  I am very impressed with the food. No knock on some places i go to but Bridies by far has the best wings around and they have 20 different flavors . Me and my friends go there all the time for the wings. I took my family here the other day and here is a run down of what we ate. I had the pulled pork sliders delicious  and the penelope ave burger, now thats a burger( they also have 20 different Burgers on the menu). My girlfriend had french onion soup and the chicken brie wrap she said both were very good . My dad had the steak quesadilla ( nice size and they use skirt steak) and the shepherds pie he said tasted just like it did back in the Bridies days. Mom had the caesar salad and the fish and chips. We honestly could say all the food was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and pretty much on the ball. My family said they will be back more often. I am already sold.
Review Source:I heard they brought back the old Brides menu so I decided to try it out,. I had been there when it first opened and wasn't impressed. There was a decent calm crowd for 8 p.m. on a Friday night and a very pleasant good looking waitress came right over. The food was good the service was right on and the bill was very reasonable. This has come back to be one of the better pubs in the area and I will continue to go whenever I'm looking for a good quick meal. It reminded me of the old Brides which was one of my favorite places
Review Source:eehhh.....so so. Man, when u come here, u never kno who you'll run into! Â heck, those long lost faces might even buy u a shot; "I can't believe I even saw u here?!?!" Â My friend met a long lost friend, got a free shot, n ended up throwing it up afterwards; way more guys than girls; many Queens College students here. Â i just remember watching their tv's n not much else; that nite, I embarrassingly learned how to perform an air kiss, there was a DJ that nite too. Â Plus, there was a blonde with a big bo donk ko donk, little did she kno, she led to the creation of a 1000+ posting Facebook thread; i also remember some very old guy, in his 50s or 60s flirting with a 20ish yr old girl....ewww!
Review Source:Over the past year my friends and I have felt that Woodhaven House has gone so far downhill (unfriendly staff, food quality has gone down, cover charges, high drink prices) that we just flat out refuse to go there anymore. However right down the road (2 blocks) there is a great place called Killarney's that serves us well. The food is standard pub selections but its solid. Great wings. The beer selection is very good between whats on tap and bottles there is something for everyone. The quality of the mixed drinks can go either way depending on how experienced of a bar tender you have, but the bar is stocked very well. Big HD tv's that broadcast all the games as well as adequate seating for people who just want to hang out in the back. Parking can be tight in this area depending on what time you come. What I like about this place is that its a friendly neighborhood spot that doesn't usually get so packed that you want to leave. Think of it as an unpretentious version of Woodhaven House.
Review Source:Neighborhood Irish Pub
I had the need for lunch and this place was just sitting there on a corner calling us - so in we went. Â
The place is a medium sized neighborhood restaurant / pub and has been here for eons only under a different name. Â I knew the old place was good so wanted to give this a whirl.
The food is very good. Â I was looking for a varied menu as I had visitors from another country along and didn't want the same ole menu and this place fit the bill perfectly.
The waitress was great and as I said, the food was very good- portions were perfect and although prices were a little high, you get what you pay for.
The setting is basically 3 rooms- the barroom when you walk in, and two good sized dining rooms on the left. Â
Bathrooms were clean - double bonus!
Parking on the street.
