my party and i had the crab legs which were drenched in butter and then grilled and it was amazing. but then again anything drenched in butter is amazing. lol.  we also had shrimp which was solid and of course since it is called oyster bar we had raw oysters which was decent but i had better. anyway, i would recommend the crab legs

This experience was interesting. My date and I were hoping to go to Anthony's, but it was closed, so the next recommendation was this place.  I imagine they are quite different.  When we walked up the host was firm with us that there was no seating available outside, which seemed odd... Given that we were a 2 top that would turn in probably under an hour and the show wasn't supposed to start for 2 hours.  At any rate, she had a man take us inside, and I liked the vibe, so it was fine.  Bartender mixed a good dry martini, which I appreciated, but it came in the wrong glass twice. Service was great-- she was really busy but attentive.  We started with the fried alligator which was really well spiced!! Loved it!  Then I had the fish tacos, which were not so thrilling... Not bad but I kind of wish I had tried something a bit more "creole." Props also for having a unisex bathroom in addition to M/W-- it was indeed helpful. If I were returning to St Louis I would try to go elsewhere before I returned here, but ultimately I would not have a problem coming back-- it seems like the live music is really hot, so I would def try that!

This place is one block from Busch Stadium but its heart is clearly in NOLA. Visited St. Louis for the first time on a long weekend and liked this place so much we came twice. There was nothing that I didn't enjoy which was: voodoo shrimp and crawfish, red beans and rice, shrimp creole, two diff pastas, shrimp grinder, crawfish enchiladas, jumbalaya, gumbo...basically everything. Highly recommend the shrimp voodoo and crawfish enchiladas though.

Live music every night of the week is anther positive. I ate everytime at the outside patio but the iinside was nice and cool too. This place is just very lively with great food and just a great surprise coming from St. Louis when I've yet to to find a solid place in my home city of Chicago for cajun cooking.
