Went there with a friend. The spaghetti is smooth and chewy. I like it.

I've been here several times over the past years as Beacon has undergone quite a renovation. The food is delicious, fairly priced Italian and Italian-American dishes, with very large servings and a knowledgeable waitstaff in a welcoming, cozy environment. What else could you want? Great for dates! My visit this year in January of 2013 did not disappoint.

Ran across Brother's totally by accident.  I was meeting a work colleague at the Piggy Bank across the street, little did we know it had closed for renovations.  (Closed and has never reopened.)  Brother's was across the street so we tried it.  Service was good, prices prices reasonable for the portion sizes and the food was excellent.  I took my wife soon after and we had a full blown dinner.  Chicken piccata was phenomenal.  We've since been back for their pizza which is also good.  It's one of my favorites in the Hudson Valley.

Had an excellent, if pricey, lunch here. The manicotti was near perfect, and the tomato sauce over it was delicious. Finished every last drop of it by soaking it up with the wonderful bread served. I will definitely be back.

Great food, good prices and good service.

I have had pizza, lasagna, linguine with clams (fresh clams of course) penne, chicken, veal, chef's specials etc. and I have yet to be disappointed.

Casual front room or linen table cloth in the back.  Back room is noisy on Friday and Sat nights.   Other than that we love this place and have been driving out of our way to come here for about 3 or 4 yrs.

Finally, I am Italian and come from a family of major foodies.  Sunday and holiday meals with us are not for the faint of heart.  This place is a great find.  Mangia!!

Going for a nice family dinner and get greeted politely at the door--awesome! Seated by the window and got read the specials--beautiful! Got served garlic knots hard enough to paper weight in a tornado--wtf! Chicken parm is a classic italian dish that they managed to send swimming in the mozzarella sea--meh not tooooo bad though! Waitresses were very on top of it no matter wat language/accent she had goin on--comical! Overall, im not ecstatic but worth a visit for some quick italian food!

Fabulous for take out and delivery, but not for impromptu dining at the establishment on Friday nites.

While I think the decor is nice, it is far from formal. It is more like a bistro style. The last time I went in on a Friday, the maitre d' refused my family seating in their back room b/c he thought my child would make too much noise in a quiet room. Instead we were seated by the entrance w people passing our table the whole time. I was all ready to order a few dishes, but decided to order pizza due to where we were seated.

During this time many people were being seated in the back room, they were treated very differently. I guess these are the regular Friday group and they get the special treatment. So take note, you might not be able to get seated at the nice back rooms unless you are dressed to the nines or have permanent reservations. If you have even well behaved children with you in the evening, I don't think you pass go, unless it's just by the entrance :)

Always good. I have suggested Brother's to many people and never heard about any one having a bad meal. The front room is a pizzeria and the back room is a bit fancier. I love the chicken francese  and usually order it with spinach instead of pasta. The leftovers I bring home are usually breakfast the next day.

Great place.  I hosted a dinner for 12 for graduation.  They did a great job taking care of everyone.  The staff acted like a team and there was always someone looking after the table.  Out of 12, 10 people loved their dishes.  I loved my veal parm.  Best part was that I had to pick up the check and with drinks and a great tip (well deserved) it did not break the bank.

Wow, some of the best homemade Italian I've had in a while.

We started off with steamed mussels in a garlic white wine sauce which were fantastic.  The sauce had excellent flavor (and was great for dipping) and I was surprised at the plumpness of the mussels.  For our entrees, I'm a sucker for lasagna, and she opted for the eggplant rollatini.  The lasagna was outstanding in all areas.  The tenderness of the pasta, the sweetness, texture and perfect amount of sauce, the cheeses...it was delicious and large enough that I had left overs to take home (which is rare when it comes to me and lasagna).  The eggplant was equally delicious with the same sauce and several types of cheeses, and didn't overpower the flavor of the eggplant.  And there was plenty of eggplant left over to take home as well.

The restaurant itself is quaint and small.  The dinner dining area is separate from the rest of the establishment.  There is a cozy feel in the room with muted lighting, exposed brick, various types of artwork, statues and antique fixtures.  A fireplace would be prefect.  The dining room is a bit echo-prone but wasn't too loud on this night and still good for conversation.

The wine selection is great, and the house Malbec was very good and recommended.

Service was unobtrusive and pleasant.  I look forward to my next visit.

A wonderful restaurant in a small town.  It's a gem.  The food is great.  It's a must have every time I visit Beacon.  My family and I have enjoyed every dish we've tried.  And the slices of pizza can't be beat.  The staff is friendly.

Brother's food was just as good as our favorite Italian place in Brooklyn, except that the portions at Brother's are nearly twice as big -- a very pleasant surprise.  We don't know much about wine, but the list was affordable and we enjoyed our sauvignon blanc.  Another nice touch -- with your bread, you're also given a small dish of delicious antipasti.

The wait staff were all helpful and friendly, even providing a candle for our cheesecake when my girlfriend mentioned it was my birthday.  The ambience is refined but relaxed, and the music and conversation volume were all at good levels.  I'd recommend sitting in the room to the left of where you walk in, for the nicest decor and best people-watching through one of the front windows.

I used to go to Brother's before they were an actual restaurant, back in the days when they were basically a pizza place. Over the years they've grown into a very nice sitdown restaurant.

Recently, I took my mother for her birthday. The service and food were both within the prices they charge. Our waitress (Rebecca) was super nice, and the food was really good. Also, the dishes came in a timely manner. The only downside is that our hostess could use a HUGE attitude adjustment. I would say she was borderline (if not crossing the line of) SNOBBY. If it wasn't for the fact that I absolutely love this restaurant for emotional attachment, or the fact that the food and service were great, I would avoid the place just so I never have to see her again.

The owners are the nicest people and all the servers are excellent.  My husband and I swear by this place.  We've been going here for the last 6 years and they have never disappointed us.

We've been coming to Brothers Trattoria religiously for almost two years.  The food is always fresh and delicious.  The service is top notch.  Where else can you go where the maitre'd Jeff greets you by name as if you're an old family friend?  Where the owner Kenny stops by your table and talks to you for ten minutes?  This is our favorite restaurant in the Hudson Valley. Think "Cheers" in Beacon.  Come here and tell them Randi sent you!

Is this is the best Italian restaurant you'll ever eat at? Probably not, but after several visits I'll say this: they are solid and reliable.

Brother's is a good choice if you'd like a nice meal and they also do a good job with groups of 12-15 people.

Decent food, nice service, fair price. Enjoy.

Please note** I really give it 2.5 stars

Its basic "authentic Italian for those who haven't tasted good Italian, I mean really fresh Italian.
I was heavily recommended to come here by a co-worker so I went but kept my expectations low cause I like to be surprised, I was not impressed with the food.
After a couple of tries, I didn't sense any fresh items like basil, tomatoes, garlic... all just seemed standard.
Dishes had taste but nothing to die, so its obvious that I can't make this place my regular.

Mind you, I love Italian and I always go for the Italian locations first but the one thing I'm not fond of is being disappointed but my routine is just to go into an establishment and smell first. If you got that nose where it picks up rosemary, basil, garlic, tomatoes... then you're fine to go ahead and order

I loved this place and for years thought it was the best Italian pizzeria style restaurant in the Hudson Valley. The last time I went, I ordered this dish that included broccoli (can't remember what it was), but the broccoli was obviously frozen (it's was still cold). That turned me off to this place. But still, the food is very good and if you are looking for casual Italian food, I can't think of another place nearby that's better.

Two friends and I ate there on Saturday afternoon in late May, 2009.  We had eaten there before several times when we visited from Boston and were pleased.  We were pleased again.

Definitely like this place alot. And they deliver. Try the Chicken or veal parm siciliana (chicken or veal w a layer of eggplant underneath the meat). Also the mussels, pizza and steak (filet) are all excellent.

In the winter its great to eat in. You have to ask to sit in the back dining room...the fireplace really adds to the beauty of the meal.

    w a glass or 2 of wine it'll run u 75 bucks a couple

One of the WORST dining experiences I've ever had.

Food was just ok, kinda like 6th grade reading.  The place you'd take your boring uncle to if he came to town, and he totally hates "weird food."

The guy who owns the place, Kenny, is about as bad as misogynistic assholes get.  They ran out of whatever I ordered, so he comes up to our table, leans over in our faces, and tells me if I want something different, like say, gnocchi.  I'm indecisive, and feeling weirded out by this huge-foreheaded douche leaning in my face, who then asks me "do you know what gnocchi is?"  After he yelled at the waitress in front of the whole restaurant, and generally paraded his assholedom left and right, we left with the most sour taste in our mouths, like, ever.  Ewwwww.

    Don't go here.  Period.

I'm only giving this place 3 stars because it never "caught me" like other Italian restaurants in the area.  The pizza is good, don't get me wrong though, and I HIGHLY recommend the "Grandma Pie" to everyone who's looking for something different.  I forget what's on it but I remember it was deeeeeeelicious.

I'm not sure how the rest of the food is.  I've eaten here a few times and it wasn't anything to write home about---or remember clearly!  It's worth a try (cough, cough...get the Grandma Pie) though so give it a shot!

I would say ditto on this being a good place to take family and friends. It's a no-fuss restaurant. My in-laws liked it here. I've had a pasta dish with garlic sauce that was way too oily. But, for the most part, the dishes are all right.

Decent Italian Food - excellent ambience with OK service. The food selection is good for both meat and veggie eater. The dishes are moderately priced. Good place to take family and friends.

If the Raccoon Saloon is my favorite bar in the greater Hudson area (it is) then it is followed closely by Brothers.  If you love Italian food and pizza, then it might rise above the Raccoon for you.

From the street, Brothers looks like an ordinary pizza place.  And indeed you can walk in the door and sit in the dining area that you see from the window, and you would not be wrong.  You can get a pizza here, or a meatball parm sandwich, and they style food, and it is great.  Call ahead and pick up whatever you want as well.

If you are in the mood for a fancier Italian meal, just ask to go to the back dining room.  It has been nicely decorated, and looks great.  You can order anything you want from the other room (except full size pies), or the meals on the dinner menu.  Everything is good - the pasta, chicken, etc..., and I highly recommend the calamari as an appetizer.

I found the beer selection a tad bit limited, but that's OK.  The wine is good, by the glass.  However, Brother's recently put a small bar area in the back room - perhaps they've got some beer back  there, and it looks like a nice place to hang out a bit before or after dinner, on the weekend.  I'll have to check that out.

I've been known to order a regular dinner and then ask them to prepare a large pie for me to take when I leave.  I love their pizza, and will bring it home for lunch or dinner later on.  Well worth it, and a good value.

Pizza definitely have their own views when it comes to pizza, but for a casual Italian meal, look no further than Brother's.
